Is there a way to sync music and also PLAYLISTS onto the Hero? I know I can easily drag-n-drop files onto my Hero's SD card, and also use programs like MediaMonkey or Windows Media Player to sync music, but I can't seem to sync playlists. I have to manually create playlists on the Hero music app on the phone, and that is a pain.

What is the best way to sync iTunes music? I've been using DoubleTwist but it is just not working these days (especially after ICS update). I sync it and sync it and Playlists never appear. So I need something else. I'm mostly concerned about a Smart Playlist I have for podcasts, which would not sync with Google Play. So frustrating dealing with Doubletwist. I have Droid Bionic.

View 1 Replies View RelatedIve been looking everywhere and still cant seem to do it but manually, but is there any program possible that I can sync Playlists from say iTunes that are in m3u format and it will show up as a playlist on my Droid? The only way that i found possible is by making the playlist each time i add a song to it and loading it to the Droid, which is a pain. And Songbird doesnt really support the Droid yet.

Here's my issue;
Basically when i sync playlists from my PC to my phone, it saves the playlists on my phone as .PLA format.
Now the only player that actually reads those playlists is my stock player.
I have tried several android players, but non of them will recognize the playlists.
On my PC for syncing i have tried
-WMP
-Winamp
-MediaMonkey
-DoubleTwist
All of these create playlists in PLA format on my device when transferring them, which wouldnt be a problem if i wanted to use the stock player.
As for android apps/media players i have tried:
-Cubed
-Winamp
-Mort Player
-Media PlayerPro
-Mixzing
-Astro Player
When i create a playlist using any of the apps on my phone, every other app is capable of reading them.
However, the playlist file can not be found on my phone, or my SD card. so i have no clue what format they are saved to, or where they are saved too.
I'm basically looking for a way to transfer my playlists from my computer to my android phone, and have the other apps actually read the playlists. The phone im using is the Samsung Galaxy S.
I got my HTC Hero on three UK network a week ago and I love it!!! Anyway I have pretty much sorted it all out but have a slight problem when it comes to music. I currently have 5 gigs worth of songs I would like to transfer but only a 2 gig memory card. Using WMP11 I converted them to 64kbps and synced perfectly but then I realised that WMP had converted my mp3s to WMAs. For the first few minutes it would work fine on the hero but then it would suddenly stop and no more music would play. I also noticed that the temperature would usually jump from 27.1 to 44.2 while the music was playing. All in all my question is.... are there any free programs that will convert mp3s to lower bitrates which are still mp3 format and sync them to my HTC hero?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI downloaded a movie via a torrent then converted it to MP4 format via Videora. The transfer from my computer to the HTC Hero looked good. However, when i go to "music" on my phone, I don't see the movie there. I only see audio files. Is there something I'm doing wrong? As a side note, when i check the properties of this video on my PC, it says Opens with: "Unknown Application." Could this be the problem?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have tried the stock player, Doubletwist, 3cube music players and methods to get music and playlists onto my EVO. Doubletwist was the only one that worked but it is too slow! It takes almost an hour to sync 500 mb's of music to the phone! I tried itunesmywalkman and that was just as bad! The end result is I just want to be able to put my playlists from iTunes on and off my EVO and have a GOOD music app actually read and populate my playlists! I'm pretty tech savvy and I can't figure this out! BTW, i'm using an iMac and I have over 40,000 songs.

View 8 Replies View RelatedI synced all my gmail contacts to my phone but now when I go into gmail and check my contacts I have 1 that keeps showing up multiple times. Last time I looked he had over 50 entries. I deleted all but 1 and an hour later he's back another 25 times. I just put the 2.1 leak on my phone yesterday. Maybe that's the problem? Strange that it's only the 1 contact though.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have had the Hero since October 9 and never had a problem syncing my AOL email with my Hero. I have had it set to sync every 15 minutes and all worked well. About a week ago I started noticing issues with not getting my messages consistently and I started seeing a message below the emails saying "Get More Messages ____ messages total on server" (I don't recall seeing this message before). If the number of messages on the server is greater than what I have on my phone, I can manually sync and they will down load. Sometimes my messages will sync, but not consistently. As I type this I see that I was showing 9 messages and the server had 11 so I manually synced and two more messages downloaded to the phone but they were from over an hour ago. I have tried deleting the account and re-setting it up but that doesn't seem to correct the issue.
(BTW, my exchange messages still sync fine).
Is anyone having problems with Gmail syncing? I am using the Gmail app and started this afternoon I am not getting push email anymore. If I open the app and select Menu --> Refresh, the new messages pop in there. I did a soft reset and made sure Gmail was set to sync automatically.

About 2 or 3 weeks ago the Music app just stopped reading playlists right. Music can see all the play lists, it just can't find any of the songs. All the files are still there, and oddly, double twist can still read the play lists fine, and get to music. Has anyone run into this, or had any ideas on what could be causing it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having a bit of trouble figuring out what information is stored how between google and my phone, particulalry with respect to my (postal) addresses. I noticed that if I add an address to a contact it shows up fine on my phone, but not in my gmail account (even after waiting several hours and manually syncing the phone). However, if I add an address in my gmail account it shows up in both gmail and my contacts on my phone. Furthermore, when I use google maps on my phone and hit "directions" I can start entering the name of my contact and it will pop up in the list for me to choose if I had entered it via gmail or the phone. But if I instead hit the little bookmark icon next to the box for the address and hit the contacts options, it gives me a list of contacts that have addresses, but only contacts for whom those addresses had been entered on my phone.I should also note that all my contacts are stored as google contacts and not phone contacts. But it does seem as if addresses are somehow being stored as phone only when I add them via the phone, and that this is somewhat intentional since choosing contacts in google maps lists only those phone-entered contacts. Does anyone understand what's going on here?

View 3 Replies View RelatedNoticed yesterday that I wasn't getting any new Gmail. After about 12 hours of no syncs I went in and played with settings, turning the sync on-and-off, and it finally synced again.
Well, now it has gone 13 hours without a sync according to the settings, and nothing I do seems to make it want to sync.
Anyone have any suggestions? I am running 2.1, and sync has worked since the upgrade for at least a few days. I have installed no new apps, I did delete one (Engadget reader, so nothing important)

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've been working at adding music, and installed iSync to pull playlists and tracks from iTunes (other computer software is not an option as the wife LOVES iTunes and her iPod.)Than being said, the iSync program is easy-to-use and nice, but I'm finding that the EVO's music app is taking its own sweet time to recognize the tracks from the SD card.I can wait, but my fear is that it will need to do this each time I launch the app? If I match pictures to contacts on my phone will it sync with my web mail contacts, or will it work if I sync my google contacts on my web mail, then sync to my phone. View 21 Replies View RelatedI have recently rooted my phone as well as flashed the Cyanogen v6 ROM (FroYo). The only issue I am having is with syncing but not in the usual sense. In everything but the contacts app I can see my google contacts (chompSMSu is an example). I can successfully go into my Gmail and basically anything else Google related. It's only the actual contact list that isn't showing up, even though syncing elsewhere is possible.
I have checked the syncing options, did a factory reset, flashed to a different rom (and come back again) and it still isn't working.
I have recently gone up from Fresh 1.1 to Fresh 2.0d. Everything is working great, but for some reason Exchange items are not showing up in the calendar. The exchange calendar is selected in the calendar selection option. Items added to the phone calendar as exchange items are synced to my Outlook/Exchange calendar, so there is some communication going on. However, my calendar stubbornly refuses to display the Exchange items.
Anyone know why this might be? I can't figure it out...
Can playlists be created on the computer and transfered to the Droid's media player? I have some pretty extensive playlist in iTunes and seaching and recreating them on the Droid would be a PITA. Do any of the iTunes sync apps sync playlists?

I have tried an aplication called Double Twist that is SOOOO slow to sync with my existing itunes library and then when it syncs with the phone it does not put all the files on the sd card. For example i tried to sync a playlist with over 1000 songs but only got 93 on the phone, go figure! An application on the same lines as double twist would be awsome if it worked. I dont like Windows Media Player so i'm trying to avoid tht route.
