Sprint HTC Hero :: App - Lock 2.0/Open Home

This afternoon, I wiped my phone and am starting from scratch. Lock 2.0 was giving me some issues and with all the installing and uninstalling of app's I've been doing in the past couple of weeks, I just decided to start with a fresh slate.
Before I back and download Lock 2.0 again, I wanted to inquire with others out there on their experience with the App. I love it, but I wasn't sure if I didn't set it up correctly or I didn't understand how the app worked because it never did replace the default lock screen after I installed and configured it. I always had to manually launch it, unlock the screen and then it would take over.
Not exactly what I had in mind for my money. Was thinking it was a full replacement for the default lock screen. Maybe I didn't read the fine print well enough.
Also, what's been the experience with Open Home on the Sprint Hero?
I'll come clean and admit I'm a Mac super-user stuck without an iPhone (I love Sprint!!). I carry my iPod touch and my Hero with me pretty much everywhere. I am LOVING my Hero though! It does exactly what I wanted it to.
I like to get in and customize to the nth degree, but not at the expense of crappy app's that mess up my stuff.

I am about to get my Hero back and was wondering if Open Home & Sense UI played nice together? Will I get to use Open Home & HTC Widgets? I have been using it on my Moment, but not sure if I even need it with my hero, just want to be able to use different icons & skins. Would I be better with Pandahome or DX?

I already had one to replace the one that it comes with at home so I didn't have Sprint open it to replace it. I forgot to ask as well.I've searched online and the "chin" hero seems to have a little dent where you can prop it open. The Sprint Hero looks pretty solid... but I know you have to open it to replace the SD card so my question is how do I do it without ruining the molding?

I hate the lock screen on the Hero, I know their is a way to turn it off, but i don't like getting a message and then the phone doing something in my pocket. Is their a way to extract the .apk of the lock screen from the droid, and just install it on the hero, I understand that the resolution on the hero is different, but hate the current lock screen, i have to slide it down 2-3 times for it to recognize. I downloaded lock 2.0 already on the market, its not bad. but it takes 3-4 seconds on my phone to actually give me the slide to unlock screen.

But I am still a little new at this and am confused as to how to just put the vanilla lock screen on. The Phone is rooted and running DC 2.08

I constantly see the same apps opening throughout the day. I think I have narrowed it down to when I get a text message it opens up a few other things. I have installed Handcent and disabled the stock message app i think. I have closed all apps and recieved a text and here is what opens everytime. Voice Dialer, com.coremobility.app.vnotes, sprint navigation, and still the Messages app opens even though it comes through Handcent.

I downloaded imusic, an application in the market and now my phone is jacked up. It says I have no service and everytime I open anything....it force closes. tell me that I don't have to reset. I have not received any sms or calls all day.

Why the Hero doen't show the 2.1 Lock screen, and instead it shows the default one. Any App or something. I'm a Newbie, and I'm running 2.1 Sprint Update if someone could explain step by step.

My boss has an iphone and hes got some app that basically displays his schedule for the day and any other info he wants to add on his lock screen. Anyone seen anything like this for android?I've searched on some sites and through the market and found nothing yet.

My friend and I have HTC Hero phones. I am with Sprint, she is with Cellular South (a carrier here in south Mississippi). We are both unable to see pictures sent to us as part of an email (like pictures in a joke). And she is unable to open pictures as email attachments in her Yahoo acct. We have played with settings and Goggled this problem, to no avail. nothing works.

Using Task Killer and it closes all the apps works most of the time. I check TK every few often and there are tons of apps running, like settings, music, myspace, etc even though I never opened them. Is this the norm or why doesn't Android handle the phone management more smoothly.

All of the tickets are electronic tickets (pdf) saved in my gmail, and I thought I would be able to open up the files and just let them scan my phone. Yet when I tried to open the file, it pulled up the PDF viewer app and then told me it wasn't able to open it. Why is this? I also just tried saving the attachment to my sd card from the gmail app and open it from there, but I couldn't figure out how to save an attachment from an email to my phone. Any help here would be great.

I have used the stock sms, Chomp sms, and handcent sms and they all seem to have the same problem. I can send a pic through them, but when the person responds to the text, its says download, I press that and its unable to DL it says. My friend sent a pic twice on handcent, the same one, and it came through the second time only. Sometimes no pic will work at all. With hancent it resizes automatic, thats great, but still the same issue. Man I love everything about this phone but this is really annoying.

My market app keeps crashing when I click the icon. Only option is to force close. I removed some apps the other night, but just some games, and such. I have searched and haven't found any solution to this problem. I have done a soft reset (battery out for 3 minutes) but it still happens. I'm going to call Sprint to see if they know what is up.

I kill all apps and make a call and when I end the call i open the advanced task killer program and it shows the messaging program opened. Anyone know why this is or how I could prevent it? I know its not a huge deal but if i can prevent it I'd like to.

Had to replace my Hero because the old one was acting up, anyway since reinstalling Handcent I have been having issues opening pics or videos. For the most part I get an error message saying downloaded message was unsuccessful.

I just Downloaded Panda Home. And bought Marvel theme its ok. I was wondering which theme should i download. I know its down to personal preference but what would you suggest? Ive had open home downloaded for over a month and i only used it for a short period of time before switching back to the default homepage setting. Now, because of the new features added to Open Home i want to switch back, and every time i open 'Open Home' it only opens until i hit the home key. Then it does not ask me what i want to use as my default as it used to. I went to settings>applications>manage applications>open home to clear all defaults but it is not highlighted for me to select it. How can i set Open Home to my default again?

I just upgraded to the sprint 2.1 (vers 5, not 6), & im rooted, & im trying to clean up the phone to save space, so does anybody know where the "wallpaper & lock screen" images/files are stored at, so i can delete them since i use my own wallpapers. also, off topic, but when i get an email, & i check it & delete it, the email widget still shows a #, indicating that i still have unread emails.

I REALLY need some assistance, think I screwed my phone, really want to avoid a hard wipe. I installed Lock bot the other day, has some issues with dual lock layers (i.e. the lock bot app wasn't disabling my HTC lock so I had two unlocks.). emailed dev and he sent me a beta version to hopefully correct issue. I only received an apk file from him. FYI I am on fresh 1.1, rooted. I used the kitchen to puch this file: "LockBotPro_1.10.0_beta.apk" to /system/app. The install went successfully, but later after a reboot I face a HUGE issue. The lock bot app is hanging upon reboot and will not unlock. At first I thought i would still be okay, I had ATK and Advanced Task manager both running at start up, so I can enter both of them through my notification drop down menu. I used both to kill the task-to no avail it is still locked. I tried to use advanced task manager to uninstall lock bot - to no avail, it cannot be removed. Then I tried to pull back the file through kitchen, to no avail.
