View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm looking to find out if there are any custom lock screens I can flash. I don't like lockbot, as it bogs my phone on occasion. I've seen a few clear lock screens I haven't been interested in. I'm looking for a lock screen like eclair, or one of those that you slide left and right. Anyone know if 1) you can flash custom lock screens and 2) if so do you know where I can get one like what I described? Thanks!

Doing great so far only problem is: I backed up my contacts with mybackup (free from market) and when I try to restore them from online, I did not make a SD card back up . I get an I/O: Cannot write to phone error.
View 6 Replies View RelatedI am not tech savy at all and I just pulled this off! I rooted and installed Fresh 2.3.3. I've read that you need to change the "kernel" but dont how to do this. I found this thread [KERNEL][7/22/10]Darchstar's Overclocked Undervolted kernel for senseUI roms vUV 2 - xda-developers but its not making sense either. Also read about SetCPU to increase speed. Can someone please post up links and explanations?
View 11 Replies View RelatedFirst time rooter and successfully rooted Fresh 2.1.1. I used the HTC sync to install the stock apk's, since they were removed from the ROM. Got a few successfully installed, then I got errors and could not install anymore. After a break I tried to connect to HTC sync, but now I'm unable to. I tried with usb debugger on and off without success.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm getting wake times near 100% with this ROM and I don't have the first clue why. I wiped and installed properly, and I have autokill set to optimal. Not runinng setCPU or anything, and I've never had this problem before so I don't think its an app.
If anyone could help, I would REALLY appreciate it. I tried dc2.05, but now I have the no audio issue on phone calls from this ROM, so I had to switch back for the fix -.- Really frustrated and really need a working ROM + phone =
AlwaysFlash seems to be the problem, uninstalled and wake time seems to be staying low under all circumstances.
I downloaded the custom gumbo kernel and I have no idea how to put it on my hero (fresh 1.1) I need a step by step on doing this.

All the vanilla arent working... they cuase my phone to go in to error mode. then the rotary lockscreen isnt work either. tell me whatever one is using and how it is working for them?

I'm trying to get rid of the standard music player (Rock On from SlideMe is still a tad glitchy, but it's mostly fantastic for it's ineffable ability to land artwork for every album and the last.fm tour finder) and also Sprint Navigation (pointless with Google Maps).
View 1 Replies View RelatedI hate the lock screen on the Hero, I know their is a way to turn it off, but i don't like getting a message and then the phone doing something in my pocket. Is their a way to extract the .apk of the lock screen from the droid, and just install it on the hero, I understand that the resolution on the hero is different, but hate the current lock screen, i have to slide it down 2-3 times for it to recognize. I downloaded lock 2.0 already on the market, its not bad. but it takes 3-4 seconds on my phone to actually give me the slide to unlock screen.

View 6 Replies View RelatedAfter using Fresh's 2.0d for the last month, I decided to try DC 2.08. I did a Titanium Backup, copied 2.08 to the SD, wiped the phone and the dalvik and installed from the SD card. After the installation, the phone boots up but is stuck on the HTC logo screen (the white background that says "quietly brilliant"). It looks like it is looping as it shows the sprint screen every few minutes before going back to the HTC screen. I've tried wiping and reinstalling, but I am getting the same result.
FWIW, I root using Fresh Kitchen's auto-root if that matters.
Any suggestions? Should I try to flash Fresh's 2.1.2?
Why the Hero doen't show the 2.1 Lock screen, and instead it shows the default one. Any App or something. I'm a Newbie, and I'm running 2.1 Sprint Update if someone could explain step by step.

However, when the phone comes up everything is [OK] but in the bottom Initialize Fresh Rom [Wait] flashing.It keep on rebooting and comes to same point for past 30 minutes.Did I messed the rooting part or ROM installed?Is there anything can be done here? or do I wait?

View 1 Replies View Relateda little background info, rooted my first hero no problem using fresh kitchen, but ended up bricking my phone. got my new hero today from sprint, came home connected it up to 2 different computers to try and root it but in both cases both htc sync and kitchen dont see my phone, but i can run the tests in kitchen and see my sd card if i mount it.my build number is 1.56.651.2 cl85027 release-key and it says my hardware version is 002 if that helps.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI tried searching for this topic but I couldnt find it. I just upgraded my htc hero to android 2.1. I never set a password for the lock screen. So it ended up putting a password on its own. I called sprint tech support and talked to them for about an hour and finally figured out that the password is my google account password. Thats all well and good but I am not a big fan of password protecting my phone because I really dont have any information of value on it, but I do like having the lock screen so I dont pocket diel. I found a few programs that will disable the lock screen that will get around this problem, kind of. Does anyone have a clue how to disable the password protection and still keep the lock screen. Its just really irritating because I dont usually lock my phone and every time I try to wake it I have to unlock it.
I switched phones the other day.The 1st phon eI was able to set my lock screen with a provided wall papar. On teh new phone, it says I have no photos and will not let me go to wallpapers. Could this be because I hace swapped out the 2gig micro sd with a new sd card?Because I know I did it on the other phone.

View 15 Replies View RelatedFresh 1.1 lock screen is clear. I personally do not like that, BUT when I try to load another one via Pre-kitchen, it loads, reboots, and its still the same. I click to clear cached lock screen, reboots, still the same. Anyone know why it won't change? the boot screen changed first try, so that is good, just that damn lock screen. I don't like the clear thingy.
