View 9 Repliesi have the moment and pressing the red hang up button will turn the screen on when its in sleep mode, but when i press it again to turn the screen off it wont, it has to time out. now the button still works to end calls and if i press and hold it will bring up the shut down window but like i said it wont just turn the screen off i have to wait for it to time out each time. is this a hardware problem or what is wrong.
View 7 Replies View Related(Thread reboot due to 2.1 update)Mods, please delete any comments in this thread up to 5/14 if possible. Any old issues from 1.5 no longer seem applicable to the phone now that 2.1 is official...
- Camera preview does not display full scene that is captured in the image, especially noticeable in Google Goggles
- Phone will sometimes dial random contacts instead of the desired one when making a call to a contact with multiple stored numbers
- Pandora freezes phone (requiring battery pull) if headphones or power plug pulled out during playback
- Screen sometimes comes on with no input from user, draining battery
- Phone still has Airplane mode issue (may be hardware?)
- Proximity sensor is either broken by 2.1 or has a bug: screen stays on during calls and will sometimes turn off during use, requiring a finger over sensor to see screen.
I was trying to update my Moment to 2.1, but something went wrong in the update process. I've tried simply restarting the process from the beginning, but that didn't work, and the progress bar still goes nowhere. If I turn the phone on i get a white screen that says "can not find jpg or png" at the top. If I do volume down+call+end, I get the same thing, but under the "can not find" error it says "recovery mode." But that's it. There are no options to select, and the buttons and touchscreen are unresponsive. However, I can still get to download mode with vol down + camera + end. What is the process for re flashing the phone using download mode, and where can I get the software?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI purchased this phone 2 days ago and since returned it for full refund. It would enter airplane mode and the only way to get out of the mode was to remove battery and then restart. That always didn't work either. This was unacceptable for 200 dollars. The battery was also a big ? It seemed that the battery life was non-existant. I give this phone an E on a grading scale. "E" for effort. Will wait for next Sprint Android phone. That might be a while.

I recently bought a new 8gig series 6 SD card and want to change it out with the card the phone came with but i have a few questions. 1st backing up my current SD card: I hook up my phone via USB to my pc. Then open up the folder that says camera and copy and past those pic's over to my pc. Then I noticed there was another folder called downloaded which i opened up to find even more pictures so i copy and past those over to my pc (into the same folder that I copyed the camera pic's into). Now as best as I can tell I have backed up all my pictures to my pc (in one single folder). My phone had placed some picuters in the camera folder, and then in the downloaded folder. On my pc i put them all in one folder. Now when I go to move the pictures from my pc back to my phone with the new SD card can I just put them all under camera or do i have to remember which ones were under camera and which ones were under downloaded?
View 3 Replies View RelatedAfter searching the groups and posts, i could not find a suitable answer to my question - On a Android mobile phone, where can i find the Field Test Mode/Application so that i can see cellular network information? On other mobile phone platforms, you can enter a number key sequence and a Field test mode is launched providing cellular network information e.g cell ID, signal strength. Does anyone have any suggestions on how i can acquire/activate Field Test Mode please?

View 2 Replies View RelatedTitle pretty much says it all. The contact for my wife has about 8 numbers listed. I want to re-order how they appear -- e.g. move the 5th number to the top position. Other than re-enter all the numbers, is there a way to easily re-oder them?
View 11 Replies View RelatedSorry if this should go in a different spot. I attempted to root my phone, and as usual, the Sw updater couldn't find the drivers. Now, once I put the battery back in my phone, it goes into recovery mode. I'm worried that I broke it. If I select either the reboot or update options it goes to the screen with the "!" and the green android character and stays that way. Any help would be greatly appreciated.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter wasting over an hour trying to update to 2.1, I've given up on trying to get the drivers to work, but now my phone is stuck in Download Mode. Is there a way to get out of this, and turn my phone back on, so I can use it for now, before taking it to the Sprint store tomorrow to have them do the update?
View 2 Replies View RelatedFor those of you familiar with this problem, it's when your Moment's signal bars displays an "x" but is stuck in AIRPLANE MODE. When you hold down the END button to pull up the 3 item menu you see this (note that it says AIRPLANE MODE IS ON):
Silent Mode
(Sound is ON)
Airplane Mode
(Airplane Mode is ON)
Power Off
So I battery pulled the phone...didn't work. I then did the VOLUME UP/CALL/END button hold down trick to bring up the root menu and did the Master Reset (which took my phone back to stock + wiped out all of my apps and data so BACKUP YOUR PHONE FIRST):
Firmware: 2.1-update1
Baseband Version: S:M900.8.OS.DI06
Kernel Version: 2.6.29
Build Number: ECLAIR.DJ07
...didn't work
I then went into the root menu again and did the REBOOT, still nothing
I then proceeded to get mad and hit the phone a few times and BANG, the signal came back and has been back since (2 days running).
Is there something in the hardware configuration I can change to fix this lock-up issue? If I open up the phone, is there something I can do to fix this? Please someone help...obviously my solution won't last as a fix
I want to root my Samsung Moment so that I can put Live Wallpapers on it and such, but every time I go to DL mode my computer says "USB Device Not Recognized" I have tried with and without USB Debugging on, install uninstall Drivers, going to REGEDIT to erase SAMSUNG drivers, formatting my phone, two different USB cables, three machines, and yet IT-STILL-WONT-WORK. I have tried on XP 64/32 and on 7. I have Eclair.DE03 Kernel 2.6.29 Firware 2.1 -Update1
View 3 Replies View RelatedI just recently came upon my new samsung moment, so i wanted to go ahead and root it after having my rooted hero with froyo, and i loved it.
Anywhos, i got to the point where I update it using the files i got off of the tutorial, and now im at the point where i need to boot into recovery in order to flash the phone with my new rom. However, here lies the issue. My phone is turned off, and i hold down volume down, and both the call and end buttons simultaneously. It starts to load up, but then it just basically loads into my phone like it normally should. I hold the buttons down all the way through this time, and same deal.. so what am i doing wrong here?
I have Samsung Moment 2.1 on my phone as well as the DD10 files and the Joey v5 ROM on my memory card but when I go into recovery mode its the old recovery mode not the new one and it doesn't read the files on my phone. I had the new recovery mode 2.1 on my phone earlier but I had to flash back to CL14 BC the 2.1 previously would start to open but wouldn't go to the main screen home screen that's everything..help please

View 4 Replies View RelatedI woke this morning to a prompt on my phone saying there was an update available to fix the airplane mode issues as well as other issues with the Samsung Moment. Figuring it to be a good idea I went ahead and downloaded it. It wasn't until some hours later when I started using the phone sideways with the keyboard not out that I noticed the screen kept timing out. It continued to do it each time I used it this way. Has anyone else been experiencing this issue or is my phone just special? When will these bugs be fixed? I am starting to lose patients with the phone.

View 4 Replies View RelatedWhen opening the physical keyboard, the phone first comes out of sleep, and then switches from portrait to landscape. This is typically not too noticeable, but sometimes it takes up to 5 seconds. Is there a way to make it so that opening the keyboard just resumes this phone already in landscape? Also, has anyone figured out a way to get the home screen to respect switching to landscape when rotated, like all well-developed apps do?
View 7 Replies View RelatedJust FYI in case anyone wants to know: For download mode, with the phone turned off, fold the number 1 key on the QWERTY keyboard and the power button simultaneously For recovery mode, with the phone turned off, hold Volume Down, CAmera, and Power simultaneously. You navigate with volume UP/DOWN, select with HOME, Menu toggles to "Manual Mode", whatever that it.
View 3 Replies View Relatedfor those of you running moxier mail on exchange with a polling mode, have you ever noticed it doesn't successfully always update? I am seeing that at times i will set it to a 1 hour polling mode for example but it won't bring down new emails. If i notice on the moxier settings page the last synch'd time is further back than the polling interval i'll hit 'synch now' and it ALWAYS brings down any new messages.
I contacted moxier and they seem to think its an issue with my server. I should also say my IT department doesn't support moxier/android explicitly but there is no reason it shouldn't work as designed they say. I have dug into the moxier logs and it seems that everytime i see a failure the following similar entries appear to be in the logs:.............
I was having some pretty serious problems with Bionix 1.7 (couldn't download from market, unusably bad GPS, etc), which I thought I had successfully flashed yesterday afternoon. I decided to use Clockwork Mod to restore a backup I made before I flashed Bionix. This hung up for quite a while (upwards of 20 minutes) so I figured something had gone wrong. I held the power button until the screen turned off, and that put me right into Android Recovery, where I get the options to reboot (puts me right back there), reinstall packages (puts me into Clockwork Mod, which I'll get to in a second) or delete user data / cache, which I haven't messed with.
If I go into Clockwork Mod, I can tell it to try to restore one of my previous backups again, but it hangs up indefinitely (upwards of several hours) at "Restoring data..." (with either immvbsd.lck or .pc_syncstream below that). I can also still see the Bionix .zip on my SD card, but when I tell Clockwork Mod to install that .zip it gets this far:
Formatting DATA:...
Copying files...
E:Failure at line 81:
copy_dir PACKAGE:data DATA:
Installation aborted.
I have a Galaxy S (GT-I9000M) which doesn't boot past the start-up splash screen and sound effect. Eventually it will just switch to a black/blank screen and do nothing more. The back and menu buttons still light up if tapped.
The history how I got it this way, was I was using the app web-sharing lite to transfer some files through wifi without the need of a usb cable. I was transferring a large movie file when the phone locked up. I reset the phone, and upon boot every app and service was crashing. Tried this a few times, then pulled the battery etc, still the same. Then I booted into recovery mode(vol up+home+pwr), and applied wipe data/factory reset, then rebooted. This is when it started to only boot into the black screen.
This is a Canadian phone, service/bought through bell, the phone had the one click root applied to it so TI Backup could run on the device. So I think I'm out of luck with any warranty service.
I can get into the phones recovery mode and download mode, so I think there is still hope for this phone to be recovered. What I don't know is what firmware version Bell ships with these devices, and where I can download it?
