I don't know what the heck is going on with our moments? My wife and I are not not getting any email notifications even though i did use to get some? I only have one account set up which is yahoo on both phones, and nothing! So unless I check maually to see if i got anything i won't know until i open my email account. is there an app which this can work better?

I have had my Epic 4g for two days now and I am having the some notification and email problems. I don't get notifications when new email is available. I only get my email to show up on my inbox on my phone ONLY when i open email. I currently have it set to to check email every 5 minutes but this is obviously not happening. and i dont get a blinking LED when i get a SMS, Text message.

That email acc is the one i use to sign up for things, mostly junk. I get tons of emails in it every day. Is there a way to uninstall the MSN account?
View 1 Replies View RelatedNo way can I rely on notifications for my SMS messages or emails. The only thing that regularly shows up on the notification bar is missed calls.My Moment is about 6 weeks old and was pre-loaded with cl14.
Notifications work okay for a little bit if I toggle notifications off/on.. then after a day or so, nothing.
Anyone else find the notification area to be completely unreliable?
Traded my Hero for the Moment solely for the keyboard. A few things I learned quickly about the Moment that I wasn't aware of:
1) No LED for visual notifications. I miss that.
2) Not compatible with the Mac. You plug in the USB and it charges the phone...no mounting. Confirmed this with Sprint.
3) While the phone is very quick, there is a definite lag with typing on the hardware keyboard. I'm not a fast typist but it lagged by a letter almost always. If you look at the keyboard rather than what you are typing you are OK. I could adapt to this.
4) I thought the jiggle in the Pre was a bad until I met the Moment. The keyboard mechanism just seems too loose.
5) The joystick thing works great. I adapted immediately to it and really like it.
6) Screen is awesome.
I'd keep the phone if it weren't for the Mac incompatibility. That's a killer for me. Looks like I'm going back to the Hero and will deal with the soft keyboard. I thought about the Touch Pro2 but just can't go back To Windows Mobile.
I'm not getting any notifications at all when emails arrive. I went into the email menu and set it vibrate and to use my own notification (using the ringtone extender app) and nothing. What am I missing? I get custom notifications for messaging but not email
View 9 Replies View RelatedSince updating to 2.1, I've noticed that when I get a text message, the Handcent pop-up appears, and then maybe 5-10 seconds later, I get the notification. This is really annoying mainly because sometimes I've already read the message and replied or closed it, but now I have an annoying notification stuck there. Is anyone else experiencing this? Any suggestions on dealing with it (other than just dealing with it )?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI finally updated to 2.1 yesterday with the SDX kernels, and I've noticed (among other things) that my phone does not vibrate on notifications of e-mail or text messages, even though I'm specifically telling it to do so. It doesn't do it when the phone's on silent, vibrate, or at full volume. In fact, there's a "test" mode in HandcentSMS and ever though vibrate is set to "Always," it doesn't vibrate, even when I tap on "Test notification." Even if I set the main control to vibrate when a call comes in, email and texts still do not cause a vibration. Has anyone seen this? I apologize if this has already been spotted--if it has, if you could point me to the link, that would be great.

View 2 Replies View RelatedEverytime I try to download an app it goes to download and I see the download bar but upon checking notifications find Download Unsuccessful waiting for me. To top it off my apps have updates avail that will not load either.
I never rooted the phone and had no problems up till now Yes I turned off power and removed the battery to reset..
Did some searching about trying to set up custom notifications for email and text and scilence the rest, it seems that people were having good results by using tone picker to scilence all notifications then setting custom ones in each app, however when I try to select silent through tone picker or andriod for default notifications it doesn't take.

The stock messaging app won't stop notifications even if they're turned off...even if the app is deleted? If mms.apk is installed, it keeps notifying me even though it's notifications is turned off. If I remove mms.apk it keeps notifying me that I have 0 new messages. I've tried rebooting, reinstalling and removing. I'm running a sdx kitchen rom with meatkernel 2.0.9/no jit and I have ChompSMS installed. I don't understand how the app can keep notifying me if it's uninstalled? Other than this, the rom has been rock solid with good bat life, so I don't want to flash to stock and start all over for the 5th time this week.

The only ones I do get are my work ones and that's connected directly to the Exchange server. I have a total of 4 emails being sent to my phone, My gmail, Hotmail, and 2 from my website exile-designs.com. I have the settings to check every 15 minutes but I never get any. Anyone have any idea's on this? I know the settings are right for sure on my Hotmail because I can pull that one up and see my old email's sitting in my inbox. The other 3 accounts should all be fine as well.
View 9 Replies View RelatedI just got the Moment the other day, and one of the first things I did was to try and set-up my 2 hotmail accounts. After I put in my address and password it said "checking incoming server settings", after a few seconds it then told me "setup could not finish" and that it was "unable to open connection to server". I have no idea why this is, and I've been searching the internet since, but I am unable to find a solution. Does anyone know why this is and how to fix it. I'm using the basic Email app that came with it, but I've heard things about downloading a different Email app. I also have a task killer installed but I have set-up it to ignore the Email app.

I've learned through the forums that turning off Background Data on the Momemt saves battery life. I've done that. I've also left the Auto Sync button checked (Gmail, Calendar, Contacts). However, my email never comes unless I physically go into Gmail and press refresh. I don't get it. While I love the many features of this phone, I am really missing my Blackeberry . Any suggestions, or is this just the way it is?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have spent hours and hours on the forum and on my phone trying to figure out how to set up email so it works the way I need to on the phone:
- I CANNOT change my email address
- Download my emails from comcast to the phone and leave them on the server so I can download them to my computer (I set my email client to remove emails from server at different intervals as needed)
- DELETE mails on the phone BOTH in the Inbox and in the Trash on the phone (without deleting them from the comcast server)
- ADD recipients in my replies and preferably myself by default (or possibly as Bcc)
- ADD a several text lines (like a Vcard) automatically at the end of all the emails I send
I tried setting up my comcast mail on the Email app (not GMail or Work mail) - it does neither of the things I need. I tried K-9 and found no way to delete from Trash - which is the main reason I tried it.
If it is possible to forward a contact to another person via text message or email? Besides using the 'Bump' app?

Calendar: When you add an event into the calender on the Month view there is a notification on there (in green) that there's an event on the a specific day. Questions: is there a way to change that color for different events?
Photos: In my gallery, I want to make separate folders for specific pictures. Is there a way to make specific folders?
Email: Is there a way to delete multiple emails at one time?
Wallpaper: There are 3 screens on the Samsung Moment. Is there a way to make the 3 individual screens different backgrounds? I would like different backgrounds for the different screens....
When I first got my Moment, I couldn't get my Yahoo email to work under the "email" app.
I tried the following settings and it miraculously worked! I've been getting my Yahoo email on my Moment flawlessly for the past month: Go to manual setup > IMAP account and change to these settings....
INCOMING
Imap server - imap.mail.yahoo.com
port - 143
security type - TLS (if available)
OUTGOING
SMTP Server- smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
port - 25
security type - TLS (if available)
* check Require sign-in
However, my Yahoo email just stopped working on my Moment yesterday (it won't load new emails into my inbox on my phone)! It keeps telling me "username or password incorrect".. WTH!
Is anyone else having this issue recently? Could this be a new change that Yahoo made?
Does anyone else have any ideas of what the next step could be to resolve this? I'll bet my turkey that if I called Sprint Tech Support they would refer me to Yahoo, and if I called Yahoo, they'd refer me to Sprint!
Also, if you are using the same settings that I've been using and it is still working okay for you, please be so kind as to advise- so I know that that setting above is still working, and it is more likely just an issue with my Sprint Account.
I setup our phones and accidentally hooked the marketplace to my gmail on 2 phones.Now my messages are going to 2 places and if erased on other phone I do not get them.How do I unhook the gmail from it.I went to email and it shows no email set up.Any help would be great.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there a market app or something I am misssing that can 'beef up' the email app. I have tried all of the gmail reconfiguring to get some of the functionality, but good old yahoo bizmail has known issues that causes problems in trying to use gmail for yahoo on the phone.
I desparately need settings like a signature for my email replies. Google just doesn't currently work for me. Anyone have any suggestions? Probably my biggest complaint. Google is not my favorite for email, contacts, etc. and I am trying hard to use it as needed since this whole phone revolves around it, but its like take huge steps backwards in functionality and customization from my windows mobile phones.
Is there a way to change how often the device updates my email? I had a sprint Hero and switched to the moment (very good decision), and I changed it on the Hero to improve battery life.
