Samsung Moment :: Hotmail - Email App

I just got the Moment the other day, and one of the first things I did was to try and set-up my 2 hotmail accounts. After I put in my address and password it said "checking incoming server settings", after a few seconds it then told me "setup could not finish" and that it was "unable to open connection to server". I have no idea why this is, and I've been searching the internet since, but I am unable to find a solution. Does anyone know why this is and how to fix it. I'm using the basic Email app that came with it, but I've heard things about downloading a different Email app. I also have a task killer installed but I have set-up it to ignore the Email app.

Has anyone gotten their hotmail to work? I got it to work the first time using the POP3 and STMP method posted all over the net but then when I go to check again, I just get connection error. I tried setup again and I get the "ERR login allowed only every 15 minutes" message. I know I'm probably only one using hotmail these days but that's where most my contacts are.

It was working fine until today. I haven't been able to get any new emails all day today, but my Gmail email comes in just fine.
I tried deleting the account from my phone and re-adding it, but it still doesn't work.

I use hotmail on the standard email program. At first mails older then 3 days just vanished from my phone...
I went into settings and changed mail to download from 3 days to all. So far so good.
But from time to time I get "new mail" but these are mails that have been sitting in my inbox for a few weeks (on the phone I mean)
How come? or is there another alternative? An app that links to hotmail (really link and not donload the mial to phone) and even refreshes at specific times to alert you if you have new mail?

Basically I want to know what the best app for accessing your hotmail account is. I used to use the default HTC mail app on my HTC Desire, but it only polls/pulls email every 15minutes via POP3. Also even after deleting the emails in the app, they would still remain in the Webmail inbox. I then moved onto SeVen, this apparently offered some 'push' facility but all I found is that e-mails would arrive 40minutes late and it would drain the hell out of my battery.
MailDroid/K9 Mail seem promising, haven't been able to distinguish much between them but K9 looks better (on a side note, can IMAP idle be used for hotmail or not?).
1. E-mails arriving no more than 15minutes later than originally sent
2. When I have read an email on my phone, it should be automatically marked read on my webmail
3. Deleting an email from my phone should result in it being deleted from my webmail too

Pretty much ever since I flashed over to 2.1 I don't receive any of my emails anymore. The only ones I do get are my work ones and that's connected directly to the Exchange server. I have a total of 4 emails being sent to my phone, My gmail, Hotmail, and 2 from my website exile-designs.com. I have the settings to check every 15 minutes but I never get any. Anyone have any idea's on this? I know the settings are right for sure on my Hotmail because I can pull that one up and see my old email's sitting in my inbox. The other 3 accounts should all be fine as well.

I don't know what the heck is going on with our moments? My wife and I are not not getting any email notifications even though i did use to get some? I only have one account set up which is yahoo on both phones, and nothing! So unless I check maually to see if i got anything i won't know until i open my email account. is there an app which this can work better?

I have recently bought a HTC desire. I am able to receive my hotmail emails and can send them back but when I look on my laptop it still showed unread messages on both hotmail and outlook even when I have read them on my phone. I used to have an INQ phone and I didn't have any problems with this before.

Have been sending a few emails no problem, then suddenly the phone is saying the account setting is incorrect. I am not aware i have made any changes and everything looks ok in the account. I can still recieve but not send .

Up until Sept 19, I was able to either hit reply, compose new, or send emails from links/apps without any issues. I use Hotmail and go thru the stock email client on the phone. All of a sudden, every time I try to send an email, it errors out and I get a notice saying it wasn't sent. The phone doesn't give a reason, and the only option is to delete the message. Did the Froyo update mess something up or what? I haven't changed any of the settings on my account and only occasionally had this happen before, but now it happens on every outgoing message.

For the past two days I've been having trouble getting email in K-9. My main email account is Hotmail. I know when I set up K-9 it said that Hotmail might not work but it's worked flawlessly for a couple weeks now. Then, all of a sudden yesterday it stopped picking up emails. I have it set to poll every 15 minutes but even when I manually try to check for mail it finds nothing. I power cycled last night and that resolved it temporarily but now the issue has returned.

Just returned my hero for a moment but am not able to set up my yahoo email account. Anyone else have this issue? I keep getting a message that username or password is incorrect.I had no problem setting up my google email (duh!) or google voice but not yahoo email even tried to do it manually through the pop3 Any suggestions.will be at a conference the next 2 days and really need to access my email during it

New Samsung Moment owner here. I am coming from a Blackberry, and would like to receive my email as it comes. I've learned through the forums that turning off Background Data on the Momemt saves battery life. I've done that. I've also left the Auto Sync button checked (Gmail, Calendar, Contacts). However, my email never comes unless I physically go into Gmail and press refresh. I don't get it. While I love the many features of this phone, I am really missing my Blackeberry . Any suggestions, or is this just the way it is?

When I log into my email accounts that I have set up it automatically downloads the entire message, including the attachments. I would like to have the option to decide whether or not I want to see the whole message. On my old phone it was in the settings, but I can't seem to find anything on this one. Anyone know where/how I can do this?

I have spent hours and hours on the forum and on my phone trying to figure out how to set up email so it works the way I need to on the phone:
- I CANNOT change my email address
- Download my emails from comcast to the phone and leave them on the server so I can download them to my computer (I set my email client to remove emails from server at different intervals as needed)
- DELETE mails on the phone BOTH in the Inbox and in the Trash on the phone (without deleting them from the comcast server)
- ADD recipients in my replies and preferably myself by default (or possibly as Bcc)
- ADD a several text lines (like a Vcard) automatically at the end of all the emails I send
I tried setting up my comcast mail on the Email app (not GMail or Work mail) - it does neither of the things I need. I tried K-9 and found no way to delete from Trash - which is the main reason I tried it.

I have my hotmail setup on my X. and recently every few hours it shows every mail in my inbox as new. I go and mark them all as ready and then somewhere in the 2 to 24 hour range it will do it again.

I realise Hotmail is POP only, but is there a way to have it behave more like an IMAP account? On the BB, there was an option to have both device and server inboxes sync'ed up, for read/unread and deleted emails... wondering if there's some setting to do this on the Android?

I've searched loads of threads on the forum but can't an answer for this! I like having my Hotmail pushed to me and because the HTC client doesn't support Hotmail push I've downloaded and used the stock android email.apk. It works fine (pushes) but the emails are not HTML. There is no option to display as HTML but I've seen it display HTML from other email clients!

Alright, I recently upgraded to a Samsung Moment. I used to have a Palm Centro and loved it. I do love my Samsung Moment but it's so hard to find correct answers to my questions...
Calendar: When you add an event into the calender on the Month view there is a notification on there (in green) that there's an event on the a specific day. Questions: is there a way to change that color for different events?
Photos: In my gallery, I want to make separate folders for specific pictures. Is there a way to make specific folders?
Email: Is there a way to delete multiple emails at one time?
Wallpaper: There are 3 screens on the Samsung Moment. Is there a way to make the 3 individual screens different backgrounds? I would like different backgrounds for the different screens....

When I first got my Moment, I couldn't get my Yahoo email to work under the "email" app.
I tried the following settings and it miraculously worked! I've been getting my Yahoo email on my Moment flawlessly for the past month: Go to manual setup > IMAP account and change to these settings....
INCOMING
Imap server - imap.mail.yahoo.com
port - 143
security type - TLS (if available)
OUTGOING
SMTP Server- smtp.mobile.mail.yahoo.com
port - 25
security type - TLS (if available)
* check Require sign-in
However, my Yahoo email just stopped working on my Moment yesterday (it won't load new emails into my inbox on my phone)! It keeps telling me "username or password incorrect".. WTH!
Is anyone else having this issue recently? Could this be a new change that Yahoo made?
Does anyone else have any ideas of what the next step could be to resolve this? I'll bet my turkey that if I called Sprint Tech Support they would refer me to Yahoo, and if I called Yahoo, they'd refer me to Sprint!
Also, if you are using the same settings that I've been using and it is still working okay for you, please be so kind as to advise- so I know that that setting above is still working, and it is more likely just an issue with my Sprint Account.

I setup our phones and accidentally hooked the marketplace to my gmail on 2 phones.Now my messages are going to 2 places and if erased on other phone I do not get them.How do I unhook the gmail from it.I went to email and it shows no email set up.Any help would be great.

Is there a market app or something I am misssing that can 'beef up' the email app. I have tried all of the gmail reconfiguring to get some of the functionality, but good old yahoo bizmail has known issues that causes problems in trying to use gmail for yahoo on the phone.
I desparately need settings like a signature for my email replies. Google just doesn't currently work for me. Anyone have any suggestions? Probably my biggest complaint. Google is not my favorite for email, contacts, etc. and I am trying hard to use it as needed since this whole phone revolves around it, but its like take huge steps backwards in functionality and customization from my windows mobile phones.

I set up a Hotmail account on my Xperia x10 so I can easily check my emails on the phone. However, when I open an email from the phone, it would still show as "unread" when I open my Hotmail account from a laptop / computer. Is there a way this can be changed, so that when an email is opened/read on the phone, it would also show as open/read when I open my Hotmail account from a laptop?
