I messed up with root for my sf. It turns on normally but it just keeps making me force quit twlauncher, and bunch of stuff so I have no access to my phone. How do I fix this?

So I recently attempted to use the samsung twc or tw launch (forget which is which), while i was using Launcher Pro i renamed the TWlauncher3.0.apk file, which then started to give me a lot of twlauncher force close error messages. I wasn't able to "remove" or "rename" the .odex file until later. I was finally able to rename the .odex file and I started to use the new TWLauncher (i believe the floating copy out there is from the Captivate), this has worked numerous of times before until today. After i restarted my phone, i did the mistake and selected to use TWLauncher as my default home screen (check box) and now it keeps on crashing so every time I turn on my phone i get a black screen, the only thing I'm able to view is the drop down menu. I can hold the home key which brings up the Task Manager.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have a rooted Fascinate. After a second re-root my SF has been very buggy. My first root was successful. I messed something up trying to install voodoo and had to flash back to stock. Now, after a second buggy root I am faced with many freezes and FC's. (primarily in com.android.settings, but will float to various apps). Battery pulls don't seem to help. After a certain amount of using my phone, hopping WiFi, maps, email, just normal use, something will need to FC.
Within the next few days I plan on un-lagfixing my phone & un-rooting it. Ultimately I'd like to take it back stock and not root. This leads to my question: what is the best way to flash stock. I don't want anything left. I can tell there was something left from my first root because ads still do not show up. I had an ad block program installed on my first root.
Anyone know how to Force Quit a Samsung Moment? About 2 hours ago the network froze. =( I just bought it yesterday.
View 2 Replies View RelatedThis is my first post but have been reading the forum since I got my desire 3 weeks ago.... love it so far, but I have just come across a problem, When I go into settings followed by "manage applications" I get an error that a process has failed, and then I can only quit using the force close button. I have tried restarting the phone and no new apps have been put on recently. Does anyone know what I can do to be able use the app manager again?

i got the phone i have not used the stock launcher, i've always used launcher pro, but today i started having force closes, i have turned the phone off, done a battery pull, uninstalled and installed again. But i am still having force closes, i have not even been able to run launcherpro, i just get a black screen and a force close. Any tips on what to do will be helpful, i tried ADW and dont like it very much, i am using stock right now.

This comes up when I start to compose my text and also if I try to delete that message. Doesn't seem to happen on any other conversations that I have (only have 3 conversations)
I have Factory Reset my phone 3 TIMES already, my last reset about 12 hours ago so I don't have a lot of things running or loaded up.
If this has already been answered please direct me in the right direction and delete my post.
When I am having a conversation thread and I am responding, I open settings, attach, from camera, take a picture, and hit save. Once I hit save, Handcent force closes. I have tried to uninstall it and re-install it. I tried the same thing on the stock app and at first it didn't work but then I went into rom manager and went into JT's stuff and downloaded the stock MMS.apk, that did the trick for the stock messaging app but Handcent is still doing the same thing.
I have a weak signal at work and often like to watch Vcast (Bones, Vampire Diaries, Family Guy and some others) but due to the limited reception I often get choppy video/audio. There is no link in the menu button to adjust the total seconds of buffering. Is there a back door way to increase the buffer amount to help get better playback of Vcast?

When I have a lot of emails piled up in my trash folder like say 70 or more, when I hit delete all it hangs and doesn't do anything and than it forces close. What I do is delete them 10 at a time. I mean why can't I just hit delete all and be done with it?

View 7 Replies View RelatedI know, there are lots who are against one click roots. that said, I'm not fully sure I know why, and before I use ANY root method- I must be the slowest person on earth, I have been thinking about and considering and backing off from rooting for what seems like ages- I want to know everything I can about it. so, does the program work for the fascinate? is there a good reason NOT to try it? also- how hard is it (with any root method) to take the phone back to stock? yes, I know there is info on how to do this- I am not looking for detailed instructions- more like, opinions. how easy is it, did someone get hung up on any particular part of these processes, etc. honestly, I have the root files on my computer already for normal root- but keep chickening out. on the one hand, I hate the thought of voiding warranty on purpose- on the other hand, in all the years I have had phones and computers and other electronics, I have only ONCE had to use warranty, and then they said it was void anyway because they did not believe that the problem was due to a manufacturing problem(which it was) and I STILL had to pay for the repair. that all said, I get closer each day to rooting but I continue researching the subject (including the after rooting what to do stuff)

I saw a lot of people having better performance running GDE, so, I uninstalled open home and that was when all hell broke loose. TWLauncher keeps crashing the phone and I cannot get the phone to a home screen. I tried the recovery mode, but nothing is working. I can't bring it up in adb because I can't get to the settings of the phone to set it up to be seen.

When I hit send, I see the 3g icon pop up but it never turns colors like data is actually being transfered then it goes away. When I look at the message details, it says status pending and it never sends. If I turn off wifi, it sends fine.
