View 1 RepliesSo I recently attempted to use the samsung twc or tw launch (forget which is which), while i was using Launcher Pro i renamed the TWlauncher3.0.apk file, which then started to give me a lot of twlauncher force close error messages. I wasn't able to "remove" or "rename" the .odex file until later. I was finally able to rename the .odex file and I started to use the new TWLauncher (i believe the floating copy out there is from the Captivate), this has worked numerous of times before until today. After i restarted my phone, i did the mistake and selected to use TWLauncher as my default home screen (check box) and now it keeps on crashing so every time I turn on my phone i get a black screen, the only thing I'm able to view is the drop down menu. I can hold the home key which brings up the Task Manager.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI messed up with root for my sf. It turns on normally but it just keeps making me force quit twlauncher, and bunch of stuff so I have no access to my phone. How do I fix this?
View 14 Replies View RelatedYet another bug! While responding to a text I keep getting:
"The application Messaging (process com.android.mms) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. Force Close"
This comes up when I start to compose my text and also if I try to delete that message. Doesn't seem to happen on any other conversations that I have (only have 3 conversations)
I have Factory Reset my phone 3 TIMES already, my last reset about 12 hours ago so I don't have a lot of things running or loaded up.
So this has happened more than once. When I have a lot of emails piled up in my trash folder like say 70 or more, when I hit delete all it hangs and doesn't do anything and than it forces close. What I do is delete them 10 at a time. I mean why can't I just hit delete all and be done with it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have installed a BT widget and a WiFi widget from the market that are each 1x1 so I could save some real estate on my homescreen in not having to use stock the power control widget that's 1x4. I do notice that on a reboot the 2 widgets appear as three dots for a few seconds before finally loading last, after all the thumbnails do on the home s screen.
My Q is, are the widgets something that are always running and using resources, albeit not a lot perhaps. How else do they compare to just using the slide down controls for BT and WiFi. They are redundant but faster than sliding and then tapping. Also these widgets change color, green for active, red for inactive, etc.
I get two different screens when my phone rings. One has the puzzle pieces, where i have to slide them in order to answer/ignore the call. The other just has regular buttons. They occur randomly. Why do I have two?
View 6 Replies View RelatedJust installed chomp sms and then sms pop up. When I tried to launch the sms pop up to adjust settings...force close. I do get pop ups though. Slick. Like Chomp also.
View 4 Replies View RelatedOn XXIFF firmware after I turned on 3G I got the error "The process com.android.phone has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again.". When I updated to XXII5 I can turn on 3G, but GPRS is dead, both on 2G and 3G (the same error occurs). Internet access point is disabled in Quick Settings, when i turn it on the error occurs. On XXIFF I could turn on GPRS on 2G and it worked, however on that firmware the phone sometimes turned itself off and couldn't be turned on without removing the battery first.
View 10 Replies View RelatedI own a samsung moment which was rooted about a month+ ago. I started receiving an error message randomly today from HelixLauncher: The application HelixLauncher (process com.helixproject.launcher) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. It prompts me to force close then I receive the same error message yet again.
I cannot access anything on my phone as this error message renders anything on the phone almost completely inaccessible. I don't understand why I've randomly gotten stuck with this error message. I'm guessing my only option is a hard reset/safemode reboot and eventually re-root; this application seems to fuel a large part of the current 'root' I am running.
I just rooted and installed titanium backup in order to remove the stock att apps. I keep getting a Force Close. I've tried rebooting the phone and reinstalling and that didn't help. Any ideas?
View 10 Replies View RelatedI've had my Fascinate for a week and am having some trouble - actually, lots of trouble with it. Any suggestions are welcome:
1. At night I close out all running programs except Zeam - which I'm using as a home replacement since LauncherPro doesn't play nicely with the Fascinate (too much lag). When I close down I have about 90% left on my battery, in the morning, the phone is dead, battery drained. I typically wake up to about 5 emails and no other notifications so it's not processing a ton of incoming data. I can plug it in at night, but the standby time is supposed to be 312 hours. Am I doing something wrong?
2. I can't get the camera app to close. I sometimes have to pull the battery in order to get it to close. I try hitting the home key and get no response, the back key yields nothing, and the power key won't turn it off. The camera remains functional as I try each of these keys. Even after hitting the power key I can immediately take a picture.
3. GPS won't get a lock. I know this is a known problem, but is it a problem on every device, or is it hit and miss?
I really love the Fascinate's form factor and gorgeous screen, but I'm struggling with whether or not to trade for the Droid X before my 30 days are up. The home key lights, lack of text editing assistance (via trackball, trackpad, or on screen software), lack of LED notification light, GPS issues, and lag are making me lean towards the X. I had an X when they first came out and I never quite got used to the size of it. It never felt comfortable in my hand. But the phone itself worked great. I'd prefer not to have to root my phone to get it to work properly.
Last night all of a sudden my phone rebooted itself in my pocket. (not the first time) but after turning back on it throws this error at me com.sec.android.providers.downloads has stopped unexpectedly with a force close. Now every time I reboot it it comes up with the same error. Also it reset some of the factory settings (my internet browser got reset as well as my background and my alarms). Now everything is somewhat back to normal other then every reboot after I get that error my browser gets reset and I cannot download anything off there anymore (like pictures).
I have the Bell Vibrant not rooted or anything. 2.1 with a bunch of normal apps.

i have a samsung galaxy gio GT-S5660M Android version 2.3.4 build number GINGERBREAD.MUGKG3 (Stock rom gingerbread ) but it is rooted. ok so i was trying to free up some space on my internal memory and i was using titanium back up and i converted google play to a user app (it took too long so i assumed it didn't work) but i backup the google play. i was able to move it to sd card thought ,but then i still don't have enought free memory to receive text msg (20mb needed) so i did a factory reset which freed up everything. and i was still rooted ( i fixed it) but now google play won't open it gives me this message (process com, android, vending) so i downloaded a new com.android.vending but still won't work i tried the clear data it will open and i can search but whenever i try to download it will force close.

When I am having a conversation thread and I am responding, I open settings, attach, from camera, take a picture, and hit save. Once I hit save, Handcent force closes. I have tried to uninstall it and re-install it. I tried the same thing on the stock app and at first it didn't work but then I went into rom manager and went into JT's stuff and downloaded the stock MMS.apk, that did the trick for the stock messaging app but Handcent is still doing the same thing.
I have a rooted Fascinate. After a second re-root my SF has been very buggy. My first root was successful. I messed something up trying to install voodoo and had to flash back to stock. Now, after a second buggy root I am faced with many freezes and FC's. (primarily in com.android.settings, but will float to various apps). Battery pulls don't seem to help. After a certain amount of using my phone, hopping WiFi, maps, email, just normal use, something will need to FC.
Within the next few days I plan on un-lagfixing my phone & un-rooting it. Ultimately I'd like to take it back stock and not root. This leads to my question: what is the best way to flash stock. I don't want anything left. I can tell there was something left from my first root because ads still do not show up. I had an ad block program installed on my first root.
I have a weak signal at work and often like to watch Vcast (Bones, Vampire Diaries, Family Guy and some others) but due to the limited reception I often get choppy video/audio. There is no link in the menu button to adjust the total seconds of buffering. Is there a back door way to increase the buffer amount to help get better playback of Vcast?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to slide between screens while keeping my yahoo email, instant messaging, etc open. Instead of having to click on the home key and choosing the individual app?
I've chosen the social scene in my settings because it leaves a page open for IM & email but I'm wondering if its possible to customize a NONrooted phone to keep more "pages/screens" open, like facebook kept open or the web browser?
I'm a newbie to Android phones and just got an AT&T Samsung Captivate last week. After installing a new app, my launcher quit working.I'm not sure if the problem is related to the app I just installed or an isolated problem with the launcher.I'm getting a dialog box that says,Application TwLauncher (process com. sec. android.app.twlauncher (in process com.android.app.twlauncher) is not responding.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have my Behold rooted and was running open home just fine. I saw a lot of people having better performance running GDE, so, I uninstalled open home and that was when all hell broke loose. TWLauncher keeps crashing the phone and I cannot get the phone to a home screen. I tried the recovery mode, but nothing is working. I can't bring it up in adb because I can't get to the settings of the phone to set it up to be seen.
View 2 Replies View RelatedLike the title says. My TWLauncher crashed while I was running open home today, and the Behold sped up. Is TW always running behind it? if so, how can I get rid of it? I'm a newbie, don't even know what rooting is, so be nice please.
