I installed the Launcherpro, and i love it, but the phone has become really slow, im think that uninstalling TwLauncher will, help, since im not using it anymore i wont miss it.My first question is: Is it possible? Second: Is it safe to unistall it?

May I know how to delete or replace the 4 default icons (Dialer, Contacts, Messaging, and Applications) on the Galaxy S main screen? The reason for me doing this is because I wanted to use the Handcent SMS app instead of the default Android SMS app as I am getting used to the Handcent one.

View 5 Replies View RelatedSo I recently attempted to use the samsung twc or tw launch (forget which is which), while i was using Launcher Pro i renamed the TWlauncher3.0.apk file, which then started to give me a lot of twlauncher force close error messages. I wasn't able to "remove" or "rename" the .odex file until later. I was finally able to rename the .odex file and I started to use the new TWLauncher (i believe the floating copy out there is from the Captivate), this has worked numerous of times before until today. After i restarted my phone, i did the mistake and selected to use TWLauncher as my default home screen (check box) and now it keeps on crashing so every time I turn on my phone i get a black screen, the only thing I'm able to view is the drop down menu. I can hold the home key which brings up the Task Manager.

I saw a lot of people having better performance running GDE, so, I uninstalled open home and that was when all hell broke loose. TWLauncher keeps crashing the phone and I cannot get the phone to a home screen. I tried the recovery mode, but nothing is working. I can't bring it up in adb because I can't get to the settings of the phone to set it up to be seen.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm using the Sprint Samsung Galaxy S4 on 4.2.2 with Nova Launcher and just recently after disabling apps, etc. my Video player app no longer opens. I press it and it freezes for 15 seconds and says unfortunately it has stopped working. On top of that every time I delete a contact, it deletes the contact but gives me a message like "android.process.acore" had stopped working and exits the contacts app.
I've tried enabling any potential function that I may have disabled to have that issue and no luck. I also cleared cache and data of the contacts list and contacts storage but no luck. I honestly do not want to format data as I have already done it 3 times prior to this issue and it is tedious. EDIT: Fixed video player by enabling picasa uploader and cloud Agent. Still no luck with the error message after deleting contact.
How do I take an mp3 file and get it to appear in the menus for ringtones and/or notifications on the Galaxy S?I cannot navigate to these directories (or is there a trick to that ?)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI know an SD card gives you extra memory for media files, but since the phone comes with 16GB is it really necessary? The basic iPhone 4 comes with 16GB and I don't think most users are clamoring for more.
Does it help the SGS speed if you leave most of the internal memory free (only using it for apps) and use the external card for all your files?
Or does it just provide an opportunity to go crazy with storing files, like an entire season of a TV show for instance?
All that being said... yes I did spring for an 8GB SD card but is it money well spent... who knows.
I have a Samsung Galaxy S GT-I9000 phone with Gingerbread 2.3.3 version installed by default.
I tried to install Jelly Bean ROM 4.1.2 version but could not succeed.
I have tried out the below steps-
1) Phone was unrooted, so rooted it and checked using Root Checker app.
2) Downloaded zip file for Jelly Bean ROM and tried installing it, but getting some error as "No space left on the device"
I installed ADW.Launcher today on my Galaxy S, and have ended up with a black screen. I'd like to fix it without a factory reset, if possible.Galaxy S, Android 2.1, bought in Singapore, SingTel settings but bought it unlocked. Currently in Indonesia. (Can't look up Baseband Version, Kernel Version and Build Number on the phone now for obvious reasons.)A short while after installing ADW.Launcher, the Home button became unresponsive, and a minute or two later the phone restarted itself (the way it's done by itself a handful of times since I bought the phone - without going through the whole power down and power up sequences of sounds and graphics). Then I only had a black screen with date and time at the bottom, and the menu and back buttons lit up, and now I can't get the display back. It seems to start normally, with the logos and sounds, but just returns to that black screen with date and time.
I know something's going on inside because I can swipe to unlock the screen (giving me a purely black screen). If I then press and hold Home, I get the haptic vibration that normally goes with the "recently used" menu. But if I randomly tap all over the black screen, and try to use the menu and back buttons (guessing where the menu items are) I get no response, and no haptic vibration.Holding down the power button gives me the usual power menu - I can select "Power off," but it restarts. I've removed the battery a couple of times, waited and replaced it - but no change.
At first I thought it was related to my SIM card, as it did the self-restart thing yesterday about 20 min after I got a new SIM card. But doing a google search suggests that this problem is sometimes related to launchers. And I removed the SIM card and restarted (removing battery) and it didn't help.The closest I could find to an answer to this problem was in the Droid X forum: HELP! I uninstalled launcher pro, and now have a black screen! - The solution there was to do a factory reset. I'd really rather not do that, but may not have a choice.
I'm new here. I tried upgrading to this firmware (JG4) through samsung kies..The download took forever and started to install, I even got the successfully installed message in the computer, but it in the process ended during the reboot throwing some �media not loaded error� and my phone is not booting up.
