Samsung Epic 4G :: Delete Pre-Loaded Apps?
Oct 3, 2010Is there any way to delete some of the pre-loaded apps that came on the Epic?There are a bunch on there that I have no interest in whatsoever the lady at Sprint customer service said there was no way to do this, but everyone on here seems to know more than customer service.

Oct 28, 2010Recently upgraded my girlfriend's phone to the Epic. She lost it last night. I didn't have any apps on it to locate it. The battery is now dead, it goes straight to voicemail when you call it. Does anyone know if Sprint can track the last known location of it or something like that? We upgraded through Best Buy. I did have the total equipment protection plan. Where is going to be the best place to go to for a replacement?

Nov 9, 2010So I've been running without 3G (disabling it with the Quick Settings app) for the great battery savings. However, in the past few weeks, I've lost 3G altogether even when I re-enable it. I've tried updating the profile & PRL, no luck. Any ideas? Hoping to not have to do a full phone wipe.

Aug 18, 2010I had my phone rooted and i loaded the cyanogenmad 6 and it worked fine. but i forget to do titatnium backup so i lost all my contacts! i tried to install back up manager for verizon but it wont let me. now im trying to go back to stock without root so i can get my contacts and redo everything. i followed everything step by step and put the file in my root of my sd and i loaded in hboot but its not showing anything.

Dec 22, 2013I have been using Snapchat these days to chat with my friends so seems haven't been Real texting for long time. This morning I got a message from a VIP customer of his schedule to London next week. While I was about to dab on showing the text but what the hell!!! The phone crashed and rebooted automatically, not only my client's SMS but all messages stored on my phone vanished. No problem I can ask my client to send again his plan but what about the rest messages?! My brain stopped working at that exact moment.
I have been searching so hard for a solution to quick regain lost message from Android phone. Yes, forget to tell you that I am using Samsung GT-s5300. After reading and googling for ages, I find that "Myjad Android SMS Recovery" might be the most suitable tool for me at the moment.

Sep 20, 2010Someone raised the issue to me that Samsung blocks non-market apps. I thought I heard that about at&t or other samsung phones. With all the satisfaction with this phone I couldn't imagine that this would be the case.The Epic 4g can/will run apps just the same as the EVO (no rooting involved), no unexpected restrictions?

Sep 30, 2010So today I went to my messages and noticed that all of my old ones were gone. I have the Delete Old Messages option off. Is there another setting somewhere that I am missing? Does it just delete all messages no matter what once it gets to a certain capacity?

I can send them but everytime I hit the download button for a message I get an error message saying that download was unsuccessful. Does anyone else have this problem? I have my Facebook account synced and it shows the pictures under my call log, contacts, dialer, but does not show the contact pictures in my text messages? Nov 26, 2010I'm running warheads from bh_man first off. I just got apps2sd working tonight, but shortly afterward every app I tried to install would fail install with "installation unsuccessful". After an hour of searching, I decided to clear out the dalvik-cache. Well, I did this and I was able to install apps again. I installed two apps, and I kept getting a force-close on Titanium Backup -root version. I rebooted the phone (Behold 2), and now all of my apps are gone. I've got a bunch of default android boxes, and no working apps. I checked my sd card, and all of the .apk's are still there, but they aren't in the dalvik-cache folder anymore. What's strange is that some of the apps are there, like gstrings and quick system info, but the vast majority aren't, like handcent and beautiful widgets. I don't know what I did, but I'd really like to know how to get them all back. I tried installing handcent from the market, and it says that it can't install it on my phone, so I really need to get this fixed because I really don't want to start all over again.

Sep 21, 2010Got the Samsung Desk Dock for easy re-charging and using phone on nightstand. If I use the Samsung Desk Home app from the market, that app automatically detects that the phone is in the dock and runs the app. However, no other app is able to detect that the phone is docked, even with the Desk/Home app uninstalled (i.e. not the default). My understanding is that the phone should send a signal to Android if the device is being docked. Then Android sends a broadcast to all apps that the device has been docked. I have tested with two different apps which are designed to run upon the phone being docked and neither detects the phone being docked. Without the Samsung dock app loaded, there is no change when the phone is docked. It seems like only the Samsung app is capable of detecting docking. Am I missing something? How can I get the Epic to send out the "normal" signal to other apps upon being docked?

Sep 18, 2010I'm hoping someone can help here. I recently installed the OTA update and then figured it would be a good time to reset the phone to factory settings. So I did that, went into the Market to redownload my apps and noticed that only some of them were listed. Searching for the missing apps yields nothing. Some of the ones that are missing include Slingplayer, Logmein, Fandango, Samsung Desktop Dock Application, Pure Calendar Widget, and my Exchange by Touchdown key. They aren't listed in the downloads and searching for them again yields nothing. I have tried performing a hard reset on the phone (twice) but that doesn't fix the issue. I also tried clearing the cache in the browser but no luck.
