View 17 RepliesI just got my Samsung Epic 4g, and I am confused about the emailing. I have 3 gmail accounts (1 for work, 1 for school, and 1 for the phone) and 1 sbcglobal account. I have the sbcglobal account in the email app and then the other 3 in the gmail app. How can I switch between the 3 gmail accounts?? Is there a way that I can create 3 different gmail apps or something?
View 2 Replies View RelatedSo this has probably been answered at some point but I am new to the forum and cannot find it anywhere. I'm looking to remove preloaded apps like sprint tv, nascar, asphalt 5.I am already rooted is there an uninstaller app or something?
View 1 Replies View RelatedIs there any apps that will spell check text or email that was typed via the Epic?
Or anyway to get the EPIC to do spell check when typing?
Someone raised the issue to me that Samsung blocks non-market apps. I thought I heard that about at&t or other samsung phones. With all the satisfaction with this phone I couldn't imagine that this would be the case. The Epic 4g can/will run apps just the same as the EVO (no rooting involved), no unexpected restrictions?
View 6 Replies View RelatedI just received my new Epic and I cannot download anything from the Android Market.I have my GMail working; however, each time I try to download Google Voice or Maps (or any other app for that matter) I get "Download Unsuccessful" immediately.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis article was posted in the old subforum so I am posting it here:
First Review of Samsung Galaxy S, Epic 4G - Sprint?s Next 4G Phone
FWIW, the article lists the memory as: "Memory 16GB/8GB+ MicroSD(Up to 32GB)"
Got the Samsung Desk Dock for easy re-charging and using phone on nightstand. If I use the Samsung Desk Home app from the market, that app automatically detects that the phone is in the dock and runs the app. However, no other app is able to detect that the phone is docked, even with the Desk/Home app uninstalled (i.e. not the default). My understanding is that the phone should send a signal to Android if the device is being docked. Then Android sends a broadcast to all apps that the device has been docked. I have tested with two different apps which are designed to run upon the phone being docked and neither detects the phone being docked. Without the Samsung dock app loaded, there is no change when the phone is docked. It seems like only the Samsung app is capable of detecting docking. Am I missing something? How can I get the Epic to send out the "normal" signal to other apps upon being docked?
View 3 Replies View Relatedare the apps being downloaded to the sd card or the phone itself? if it's the latter, is there a way that the apps we downloaded and future downloads can be moved to the sd card?i'm worried that my phone will start to lag once it's almost full in the phone's memory.
View 3 Replies View RelatedSo. I just got phone and wanted to buy apps of market but when I enter card info and stuff it just says its not working at this time so it won't let me buy apps anyone else having this problem.
View 3 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone know if it comes with Docs to Go? Fell in love with it on the Blackberry - would be nice if included. If not - I'll probably fork.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm hoping someone can help here. I recently installed the OTA update and then figured it would be a good time to reset the phone to factory settings. So I did that, went into the Market to redownload my apps and noticed that only some of them were listed. Searching for the missing apps yields nothing. Some of the ones that are missing include Slingplayer, Logmein, Fandango, Samsung Desktop Dock Application, Pure Calendar Widget, and my Exchange by Touchdown key. They aren't listed in the downloads and searching for them again yields nothing. I have tried performing a hard reset on the phone (twice) but that doesn't fix the issue. I also tried clearing the cache in the browser but no luck.
View 6 Replies View RelatedIs there any way to delete some of the pre-loaded apps that came on the Epic? There are a bunch on there that I have no interest in whatsoever the lady at Sprint customer service said there was no way to do this, but everyone on here seems to know more than customer service.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI know that you can hold the home button down and wait for the list of recently used apps to come up - but for some reason, the second or so that it takes for the long press drives me crazy! Is there a way to make a screen icon that will take you to your recent apps? I would rather not install a whole new launcher to get this option - so are there any lightweight ones that do just that?

View 2 Replies View RelatedIs there a maximum number of apps that can be installed on the Epic as long as you do not exceed the memory ?

One side effect I've noticed from the recent update: it seems like some apps are just gone from the Android Market. The one I know for sure is the MLB.com At Bat 2010 app. AppBrain still lists it (in fact, it shows that it got a price drop about 10 hours ago), but scanning the QR code, searching for it in the Android Market, even trying to install it from AppBrain all lead to the same thing: The item could not be found. I don't know if this is happening with other apps or not. I do know for sure that the MLB.com At Bat 2010 app was there before the update as I was trying to decide whether I was justified in spending the money to listen to the playoff games at work. But now it's just gone without a trace.Anyone else notice this or other apps missing?
View 27 Replies View RelatedIs anyone else experiencing problems downloading and running apps from the market due to low memory issues? Why did they only put 512MB of internal memory for app storage on this Epic when the AT&T galaxy version got 8GB of internal memory in addition to the 16GB micro Sd card???
My memory is full now, and without android 2.2 I can't move apps to the SD card. They should have provided all of their galaxy class phones with the 8GB internal memory.

Its encouraging to hear statements like this one....

I'll definitely be purchasing mine launch day. The 31'st can't come soon enough!
Not sure if this is the right place to write this here, but I was wondering if there was a wire or anything that can be use to hook the phone up to a tv?

View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been through three different car mounts so far, they of the "universal" variety... one with rubber side clamps, one padded, both with feet underneath... none of them were to my liking... didn't hold my Epic well enough, either fell out (thankfully while I was monitoring it) or felt like it could if I hit too big a bump. My question is if anyone has found a really good car mount yet, specifically for the Epic preferably? I prefer a windshield mount, but I'm willing to consider other options if it's sturdy and I can position it decently in my car.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI had pretty bad battery life today, took off the charger at 11:30, just plugged in at 15% 11 hours later, with a short charge in the car on the way to a late lunch. No text messages, no emails, no phone calls . I got a few apps off the market, did a little web surfing, & watched one 4 minute youtube video. This is my first Android phone, I had a HTC Touch Pro before this. BTW - The lack of comms today is because I'm not working right now, but in the middle of federal hiring process with the next appointment on the 13th, wish me luck. Bluetooth, GPS, and wifi are always off. Screen brightness is left at the lowest level. This is all shown with the Power Control widget on a home screen. I also have the Samsung Program Monitor widget on the same screen, and nothing stays running. Auto sync is always off, I rarely actually use gmail. The stock email app is set to check two other email accounts every hour.
I tried a little test, but just don't know what to make of it. I have Battery Monitor and Android Manager Free installed. Whenever I mention Task Manager, I accessed it through AMF. Before beginning, I removed the Weather Channel widget from the home screen and terminated the app in the Task Manager. I had installed a BBC news app today, but uninstalled before testing; it automatically updated a couple times today and showed up in Task Manager after I terminated it. I made sure Background Data was turned off, I generally only turn it back on when I launch the Market (gives a popup saying it needs it). I plugged the charger in with the phone at 26% charge, just for a minute to reset the last time unplugged. Using Battery Monitor (which apparently just shortcuts to the built-in Android battery monitoring screens found through Settings) I checked the status periodically, along with seeing what was active in Task Manager. Every 5 to 10 minutes I would press the power button to turn on the display, then check Battery history - Since last unplugged. I'd check the Task Manager, terminate Battery Monitor and AMF, then press the power button to turn the screen off............
