Can't remember if this was working before I had to do the factory reset on my Epic, but I think it was. I have my Facebook account synced and it shows the pictures under my call log, contacts, dialer, but does not show the contact pictures in my text messages? Anyone know how to fix this, it really annoys me seeing a bunch of empty picture slots when looking at my text message list.

So I have my Facebook account set to sync with my contact but I use Google voice all the time for text and phone. Is there a way to get the pictures that go with my contact to show up when they text or call my gvoice number?
All my pictures are from Facebook so if everything works right the pictures I see in gvoice should be the same as the profile pix in FB.
Anyone else have this issue or know a fix? Contact pictures show in contact details and in the contacts app, but not in the dial or when I get a call. Contact management is the only thing I don't like about my X.
View 2 Replies View RelatedOn a Samsung Fascinate (not sure if that is relevant) does anyone know how to make pictures that come in to a text message just show up in the message. I got my first incoming text on this phone with a picture attached. I saw the message and a "play" button. Push the button, goes to a screen 1/2 which just has the text itself (which I have already read at this point in the original bubble), then sits for a few seconds, then finally goes to screen 2/2, pulls up the picture, with no text. If I go back to the original message, the play button is still there and I have to go through it all over again. Any setting/apps anyone knows of to just have the picture come up automatically as part of the text.
I am coming from a Palm Pre and the photo would just be sitting there when I opened the message.
No problem for first few days of ownership but now when I try to send a text it does not seem to send. It shows a symbol of a closed envelope with a red L in a circle next to the text message that I tried to send. I'm having no problems receiving texts or with any other functions.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI got my Samsung Galaxy Precedent last week, and after some bumps trying to get used to this, I've been able to fix most problems I've had, except with images in texts.
I can send or attach messages to texts, but I don't get any images being sent to me. The Precedent runs on Straight Talk's network, and has "unlimited" talk, text and data. It's letting me send as far as I know, but I can't get any incoming pics in texts.
So today I went to my messages and noticed that all of my old ones were gone. I have the Delete Old Messages option off. Is there another setting somewhere that I am missing? Does it just delete all messages no matter what once it gets to a certain capacity?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI do have a few questions about the phone. i was wondering if there is a way to make text messages alerts show up on my screen. i have an app that shows if i have one unread but it is pretty small. every other phone i've had had a pretty big notification for texts. also is there a way to have the screen light up when you get a text? there is a sound that plays when i get a text, but the screen does not light up. not sure if im just missing something, but is there a way to set different tones for different notification? right now the same thing plays when i plug my phone in, that plays when i get a text. none of these are huge issues, but i am just curious if there is a way to make some changes on the phone. im sure ill figure it out or just get used to it.

Some of the pictures that are blurry are from facebook and from my pictures album. Although, not all facebook contacts come in blurry. some are perfect? This may sound like a small problem but an annoying one! Does anyone know why are how to fix this?
View 12 Replies View RelatedI just installed Handcent on my Droid and am having two problems. I checked the settings and can't figure out why these things aren't working properly.
1. The pictures from my contact list do not show up next to the texts. Every one of my contacts has a silhouette and question mark in place of the picture - which shows up fine in the default messaging app.
2. When a new text comes in, the new text notification pops up on the taskbar. I do not receive a handcent notification icon, and if I open the text with Handcent, the default message notification does not disappear.
Since I started installing custom ROMs on my Desire, the contact pictures have been missing in the HTC Messages app. They show up fine everywhere else, just in Messages I see the default grey contact icon all the time.I initially thought it could be a bug specific to one of the ROMs I installed but it's happened with AdamG's 'official' Froyo Sense ROM and Paul's MCR Custom ROM r5 which I'm currently running (actually, I've installed 2 slightly different 'bakes' of this and the problem is there in both).I've tried asking about this on XDA and MoDaCo in the relevant ROM threads but not had any luck. Just wondered if anyone had any idea at all what could be causing this and how to fix it, or at least find out why it's happening.As I said, its literally just in the Messages app that it's happening - everywhere else contact pics show up just fine.

View 3 Replies View RelatedOne of the selling points of the Epic 4G is the 5mp Camera it has.. Gizmodo rated better than the iphone's and even though, it doesn't have 8 mp (Evo), its 5 mp picture has a higher quality than Evo's.
Please post your pictures and if you can use some of the photo apps available ( Fxcamera, Retro cam, Camera Illusion, Vignette, Photostitch), it will give us a better idea of how good the camera and apps are.
For a while now, I don't know exactly how long, my phone stopped receiving pictures in text messages.I get a notification that a new text msg is in, but when I click on it, it just says "downloading".Once in a blue moon the pic will appear after about 20 minutes, but most of the time it never comes up.I am using Handcent, but I get the same result with the stock messaging program.The one thread I saw said that a hard reset had to be done.I really don't want to have to do that.

View 3 Replies View RelatedAbout a month ago, all the sudden I couldnt recieve any attached pictures sent to me through text messages. I thought that maybe it was an application that may have caused this so i did a factory reset and installed only minimal apps that I use regularly. It fixed the problem and worked fine right after so I thought maybe that was it. Now after about 3 weeks or so, I am not getting attached pics in text messages again. I have not downloaded any apps either. When someone sends me a pic it will say who its from, the message size which ALWAYS says 6KB, and the expiration date. It will show a download box on the top right of the message abd when i push it, it will say downloading, then I will get a notification saying that the download was unsuccessful. What could be the cause of this?? I would hate to have to do a factory reset every 3-4 weeks to address this problem.

I took it to the Verizon store yesterday and they told me that it is a known issue with the phone, and they are working on corrective software to solve the problem. Anyone else have the same issue ? I have the phone set to only keep 25 messages in a thread and automatically delete old messages. I have tried a hard reset. I am using the stock messaging app, but I have seen others who have the same problem with third-party apps.
PROBLEM: I delete unwanted texts and threads, but as soon as I receive a message from someone whose threads I have deleted ALL (I mean ALL) of my deleted text messages come back. Let me be clear, when I say ALL I mean every text message I have sent to anyone comes back - the entire thread returns. Even though my thread settings are set to 25, some of these threads have thousands of messages in them.
I am not using any third party app for backup. There is a little sync symbol up by the clock while the messages return and it can take hours for the messages to all load up - oldest messages return first, so I cannot read new texts until the process is finished. There appears to be no way to stop the sync either. I have to wait it out.
This is my second Android phone and the fifth Android I have had in my family. Everyone of them has had bizzarre problems like this. Every time I complain out loud, my wife just says, "My iPhone doesn't do that."
Is it possible to save a picture that is sent to you using the stock messaging program on the Droid? If not what is a good replacement app will let me do this? When creating shortcuts to call or message someone is there a way to get rid of the M (H, W, etc) that is put in the upper left corner of the icon on my screen? I don't mind the little phone or convo. icons in the right corner but the M is just too big and covers up a good bit of the icon

So if they have a work, home and mobile it also gives me the ability to send messages to all 3 of those numbers, why? If I send a text I only want it going to their mobile....is everyones contacts set up like this?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI'm having issues receiving text messages from a single contact.I'm using the Huawei X1 - running Subpsyke's latest rom. I use GoSMS.The thread I speak of has 5522 messages in it - and I am unable to recieve messages. They send fine and I can't get them.
I believe that this may be because of the huge thread size. Is there any way of preserving these messages but creating a second, new thread for the same contact?
Has anyone figured out how to do this? When I hold my finger on a text and choose forward, I only get the box where I have to type in each contact individually. Is there a way to show a list of my contacts when forwarding or at least a way to forward to a group? I have groups set up, but there doesnt seem to be a way to access them when forwarding. I have tried every option and every menu and cant find out how to do this on the Epic?

View 2 Replies View RelatedSo I have a very weird yet unique case with my stock text messaging app. Just this past weekend I started noticing that one of my contacts text messages were consistently showing up 3 minutes earlier from my text to them. So every time I send a text their response shows up above it which is very annoying. This case is only occurring for this contact, everyone else shows up just fine.
Now, this is what I have determined so far...
1) It's only happening when I receive a text from someone using a DROID on Verizon. I had a another friend who I had not recently text with sent me a text message to test my theory. The issue still occurs...
2) I had my sister who is on Verizon text me on her Blackberry Tour and the timing of her text shows up correctly. So it can't be the network right?
3) 3rd party apps (Handcent/ChompSMS) don't have this issue at all, the timing is perfect for everyone so my guess is that there is something wrong with the stock messaging app?
I have a whole bunch of other text from other contacts and I don't have this issue, it's just happening to the one contact that I have...actually, now two, which both have a DROID.
I may have to commit to using Handcent but I've been testing out the stock messaging app lately to evaluate the wake time after the firmware update and just noticed this problem occurring this past weekend only. I was using the stock messaging app even before this weekend and didn't notice this problem.
is there a way on the phone to select a contact and block that contact from text messages and or calls?
I thought there was on the Eris but I can't seem to find it again .
I know this phone has a good camera. However I have noticed that unless I keep the phone perfectl motionless the images will be blurry. same thing goes if I am shoting a person who is slightly moving. Is this just my settings?
