After a system update a day ago, the contacts photos have disappeared. Anyone know why this happened, or how to get them back? I tried re-synchronizing my accounts, but the photos still dont show.

what will be lost, contacts? photos? apps installed? im guessing SD card data will be unaffected.
So I've been running without 3G (disabling it with the Quick Settings app) for the great battery savings. However, in the past few weeks, I've lost 3G altogether even when I re-enable it. I've tried updating the profile & PRL, no luck. Any ideas? Hoping to not have to do a full phone wipe.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was sitting at my desk and work and saw the "System Update" notification pop up on my phone. I grabbed my phone, stood up, and showed my coworker. Unfortunately, in doing so I accidentally pressed "Update Now." I had planned to post-pone the update until I got home so I could Unrevoked Forever and S-Off. It's currently in the middle of installing (little ! icon w/ the Android guy next to it). I guess I'm going to lose my root. Any idea how long I'll have to wait to gain it back?

Luckily i had a backup app on there so was able to restore them all but dont know why this happened
Recently upgraded my girlfriend's phone to the Epic. She lost it last night. I didn't have any apps on it to locate it. The battery is now dead, it goes straight to voicemail when you call it. Does anyone know if Sprint can track the last known location of it or something like that? We upgraded through Best Buy. I did have the total equipment protection plan. Where is going to be the best place to go to for a replacement?

View 2 Replies View RelatedToday I went to update my X10. While at work it wouldn't allow me to as it insisted I connected it to a computer. So at home I got the USB cabled hooked up to my Linux Laptop and then discovered it had to be a windows computer. Anyway, I got it hooked to a Windows computer and the update process began. I followed every instruction and set all tickboxes for backup. After unplugging this and plugging it back in and rebooting here and there, it finally reached the restore process. I left it restoring for a while.
When I came back to it, it said something had crashed. I don't know what as I'd just woken from a nap. But, it seems all my applications are restored. Yet my gmail account & facebook account have become disassociated from my phone and all my contacts no longer have any names or pictures. I opened the contacts/phone book and the list is completely empty. I tried to import contacts but it says it cannot find any anywhere. I have work related contacts as well as family & friends and really need to get my contacts back - please advise?
I flashed the vipor rom for my epic and i would like to know if there is a way to get all the apps and messages and email setups i had back.

1) I'm not a photographer
2) I used Vignette on the Evo 4G
3) I used both the Stock camera and Vignette for the Epic
4) The Epic pictures were taken while there was more sunlight out, the Evo was more in optimum lighting.
5) Neither has been retouched in any way
I also have 720p video shot with both phones, just don't know where to upload it yet.
I know the screen has a bluish tint on the Super Amoled (read this info in another thread here), but my pictures shouldn't have a bluish tint in place of white.
This is my 2nd Epic, and the 1st one didn't have this issue - but it had horrible DL/UL, so I swapped phones and got a 2nd Epic.
Anyone else having this issue? If so, is there a settings change that I can do or check for? Or do I need to go get Epic #3?
Hate to get a 3rd Epic, as this one the DL/UL seem to be working as they should.
When I use the facebook app to take photos and upload, they load fine. But I can't see the photos saved on the phone at all.
It seems like taking the photo via the facebook app does not save the photo to the sd card?
Anyone know if this is true or if the photos are saved somewhere on the phone?
Im wondering now if the GPS problem is really a problem with the way the individual phone is "tuned" at the factory, Its not the software thats for sure. I'm sure I have the same software as everyone else and my other 4 handsets had. I noticed that all 4 prior phones had a varying degree of GPS accuracy. This one #5 is spot on and quick to "fix" in my locations. I have a large home and tested the handset in my house last night and watched it track me through the rooms with spot on accuracy without fail. So I say why is this phone different? It has to be the way its tuned at the factory, if you notice when you take the battery door off there are a bunch of little holes around the battery compartment these are manual tuning pots for various phone functions and I'm guessing one is for the GPS. If my handset is accurate there is no other reason besides bad final tuning of the GPS system causing another handset to be inaccurate. Now if my bottom 4 keys were only as sensitive as my GPS I would be totally happy with my Epic.
View 5 Replies View RelatedI was in an area with some not so great reception this evening and at one point my text messages wouldn't send.I decided to update my profile and prl just to see what it could do for me and the updates failed. Oddly enough, I could still access 3g data, just no text.I could make phone calls, just no outgoing texts (can't confirm incoming).Anyway, on my way home, I sent myself a text and it worked fine, but I still couldn't connect to update my prl or profile which I've never had a problem with before. I got home and did a quick search and found this thread: Samsung Moment.Can't update Firmware, Profile, or PRL.I'd follow up with a call to Sprint to see if this might hopefully be the case, but they aren't available right now. Anyone else having trouble updating their prl or profiles tonight?

I purchased my samsung epic a week ago and every since I've been getting the message that my facebook contacts is unable to syn at the moment an error of some sort,and too try later.WTH? My facebook calender syncs but not the contacts.I thought that it was th phone so I took it back to the sprint store they restarted my hard drive but it still didn't work,thy sent me to the repair center at another store and the general manager told me to go back and tell them to replace the phone and that I shouldn't be having issues so soon. Well I did that,they gave me a new phone and guess what.yep u guessed it,still the same issue.I went back to the repair center they played with it for 2 straight hours while I waited impatiently and still I walked away with the same problem. What the heck and I suppose to do now?

They both have Samsung Moments now and think the phone looks promising, but they've already ran into their first quirk. I searched for a good halfhour to see if I could find an answer to their problem but I couldn't find anything. So without further adieu.their problem. They had older phones that used simcards. The sprint store loaded all of their contacts onto the moment and all was peachy. As soon as they went onto the market they had to establish a GMail account to be able to use the market. Once the GMail account was established all of their contacts were wiped. We can't find them anywhere. If anyone has had this problem or would possibly know how to locate the contacts it would be greatly appreciated if you could post the steps to do such a thing. Also if there is anyway to put a simcard onto a computer and transfer it to a phone they still have their cards and I could try to do that.
