I have a desire from The Carphone warehouse. unbranded. but it has preloaded apps on it. stock, facebook and some other crap. is there anyway at all of uninstalling them plz. I'm pretty anal about having things running in the backgroud and fed up of FC them.

View 8 Replies View RelatedTo those who have rooted their Desire, this may sound a bit odd, but just humour me, rooting my phone, mainly because Im very paranoid about getting it wrong, and also it seems like a hell of a lot of fiddling for little gain. The only benefit I really want from rooting is to remove the dumbass demo apps Telstra installed. Is is possible to remove those apps on an un-rooted Desire? Would I be correct in saying that ADB could do it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI went to purchase the acircuit live wallpaper app. The transaction failed to go through because my bank blocked it, as it was less than 1. It is now sitting in my list of downloaded apps in the Market app (not the installed list) and it says purchased. There is an install option, which if pressed tries to download it again, but fails because it has been blocked. I don't want the app now and just wish to clear this from my download list. I have installed an unistaller app, but this just shows a list of the installed apps. Can anyone help me with a solution to get rid of this from my app downloads list in the Market app.

There are a bunch of pre-loaded apps on my phone (Facebook, twitter, stocks, my verizon) and they are always running in the background according to my task killer app. I want to get rid of them, and I have read that you cannot unless you "root" your phone. What exactly does rooting do? I know that it can permanently mess up your phone, so, is it worth it? Do you think that htc will update android to enable you to delete these pre-loaded apps?

View 19 Replies View RelatedI've spent the last 2 hours listening to a mix of mp3's that were either pre-loaded onto my sd card and that I've added to it myself (40-60 split) and I've noticed on 3G watchdog that my usage has shot up 40% odd!Why has this happened when I'm listening to stuff from my sd card?I have installed the last.fm app for what it's worth, is it doing soemthing it shouldn't be? A brief search on this matter on related threads seems to indicate only on "rooted" phones.
I am looking to find out how to uninstall the apps that came with my htc evo. Like Friend stream and bookmarks. and other apps i will never use to free up some memory. It i go to settings > application . there is no where to remove app.

Trouble is, I'd like to add even more. So is there a way to make room in my phone (not my SD card) other than uninstalling? I don't think it's possible to move apps to my spacious card and link them, right? I'm still going through the apps to see which ones work and fit into my life, and don't want to uninstall any just yet. Is there another way?

Uninstalling an app from the phone is not that complicated and it is quite fast. Maybe my question is silly but I am very new to Android. I know that Windows for example does not uninstall programs properly, and one needs often a third party program to really make a clean uninstall. Is that the same with Android, or do these apps just make it faster to uninstall an app (with the same result that one will get with a "uninstall" process through the apps manager)?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI tried installing "Black Hole Live" wallpaper from the PlayStore, it failed to install BUT left some sort of remnants in the "Apps Listing" that will not allow being uninstalled. It shows as 00B on all "storage" and is "Disabled". Being from IT, I like things clean and tiddy. This remnant refuses to uninstall, I've even looked everywhere it could reside using ES File Explorer, nothing. HOW do I get rid of this stinker??
Second: I'm sure this has been covered before, but I have to ask again if not. There are Apps that are put on the device from the factory, buried somewhere in the OS, that aren't "free" apps after a ridiculously short "Trial Period". I want to remove them, they're using up storage space and I don't use them. One in particular with an absurd 7 day free trial is PRESS READER. I want it off! I downloaded an Uninstaller called "Root Uninstaller APK", but it shows nothing that any other Uninstaller does and Press Reader is not shown.
3 days ago I purchased a brand new factory unlocked Moto G in Pakistan. The problem is, whenever I try to uninstall any app I downloaded off the Play Store the phone shuts down and then the start-up screen is displayed after which the phone restarts back to the unlock screen. I did a complete reset to factory settings but the problem still persists. The version of Android is 4.4.2
