every now and then when im on the internet browser or txting the home screen will come up outa nowhere... ive had the epic for 12 days now should i return it or what?

View 6 Replies View RelatedI've had my Epic for about a week and have noticed that from time to time that the screen flashes VERY briefly to the home screen/lock screen when inside an app.
It happens when I'm in the browser, email app, etc. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason behind it.
My home screen is now 3 pages instead of 5 or 6. My apps now scroll up and down instead of left to right. What did I do? I hosed something help I hope not too bad.

View 14 Replies View RelatedHome screen used to do landscape immediate and always. Now it doesn't do landscape at all unless I slide the keyboard out and it pops into landscape immediately. Then when I close the keyboard it goes back to portrait even when I'm holding the phone in landscape. Not sure how to fix this, help please.

If I press the cube button it goes to cube and then I'm able to navigate around to internet and other media features but it refuses to load up the home screen. Is there anything I can do without having to do a hard reset. I don't want to reload all my apps over again.

View 6 Replies View RelatedI have sprint, my phone is an Epic and i love it! however when sending even a simple text i select "new message" the "to" box comes up. i have to start typing in a name to get contacts with similar names to start coming up, which i then select. then i have to repeat for the next contact...i have had cheaper phones that have allowed me to select recipients from my contact list. i have a friend who has Verizon, but has the same andrion platform (i think its a fascinate) and when she clicks on the "to" box, she gets a drop down menu that includes the word "contacts", as well as "recent calls". she clicks on that and goes right down the list selecting recipients...this is standard on her phone, as she did not dwld an app to allow this...MY epic wont do this...can i change a setting or something.

When I click update it tries to acquire location but can't. I think I've tried everything to get it to locate my location. I've turned it on through google settings. I've turned on GPS on my phone. I've got nothing. I'm at a loss at how to enable this feature because I used to have it and liked it.
View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Epic 4G just lost all connection to the internet about an hour ago. Out of the blue, so to speak. I was browsing, set it down, then when I used it again it wouldn't connect. My browser, facebook, and any other connection required apps throw error messages saying - "connection error", "no connection". I've reset the phone several times, and as far as for the network settings, everything looks set the way it always is. I have done nothing to the network settings/options to have accidentally messed it up myself. I am connected via 3G, and this network problem is new to me. This phone has been nothing but constant problems and this is the newest one in a long list.

Then today it did it when I set it down on a table, and when I turned it back on the battery went from 42 to 12 percent. I then reset the phone and it was at 24 percent. Is anyone else having this problem? Could the battery just be losing contact?

Trying to figure out what I did to delete my browser from the drawer....you can see in the first picture what it looked like earlier today and then in the second picture what it looks like now. I've tried dragging the browser icon down but it just replaces the phone or vice versa. I can't get it to go back to 3 options.

View 6 Replies View RelatedGot my daughter the Samsung Epic this morning and grabbed a case and the home dock for it. Hate the fact that you have to remove the back of the case to plug it into the home dock and the fact that it sets the ringer volume to mute every time I plug it in, not to mention the fact that the external speaker option for the dock won't go active until the phone is updated to Android 2.2. Now that my mini rant is over, I do actually have a question, anyone know what you need to do to get the weather stuff to come up on the Desk Home screen when that software is active, I am having no luck at all. There is no option for it anywhere and the auto magic stuff must be broken. It clearly shows weather info available on all the pics and stuff Samsung has shown off and I would kind of like it to be there.

I've tried clearing cache and that didn't work. Its really annoying, & I don't want to have to download another browser thats a last resort for me.

does it matter which i use ? for example if i know the www address or if I just want to search say for car rentals and do not know the web address.
also my phone is a bell prepaid phone and when I use the browser to find a page i get a little pop up that says something about bell mobi whatever that is and telling me to bookmark it.
I bought switch pri widget for the epic and please i was wondering how do you turn off the 3g data when u dont use internet it seems to be different for the epiuc than with other phone.
the onluy thing i got with data is USE APN toglle(if the dta connection toggle doesnt work you can try this) not sure what it means but i want to see if that will help me to get a better battery.
