I'm still fairly new to the Android OS, switched over from an iPhone 3GS a few weeks ago. Trying to figure out what I did to delete my browser from the drawer....you can see in the first picture what it looked like earlier today and then in the second picture what it looks like now. I've tried dragging the browser icon down but it just replaces the phone or vice versa. I can't get it to go back to 3 options.

On the standard Droid X screen a Google search box is included as standard issue. I accidently dragged it to the trash and know can't find it. Any help on where it's hidden?
View 5 Replies View RelatedI just got my eris so i was experimenting with apps. I was reading a thread about Lockbot and decided to see what it was all about.. I messed with it for a few mins and decided i didn't like it so i uninstalled it. When i pushed the home button a menu pushed up that said something along the lines of "Home or Sence" (or something like that) and i chose sence because i was curious. Now my home screen is completely different and lost my custom scene.

When I click update it tries to acquire location but can't. I think I've tried everything to get it to locate my location. I've turned it on through google settings. I've turned on GPS on my phone. I've got nothing. I'm at a loss at how to enable this feature because I used to have it and liked it.

I've tried clearing cache and that didn't work. Its really annoying, & I don't want to have to download another browser thats a last resort for me.

does it matter which i use ? for example if i know the www address or if I just want to search say for car rentals and do not know the web address.
also my phone is a bell prepaid phone and when I use the browser to find a page i get a little pop up that says something about bell mobi whatever that is and telling me to bookmark it.
I just got a new AT&T Radiant (aka ZTE Z740). I had it for a few days while I waited for a SIM card to come in the mail, installed one app, and just got a feel for how it worked on wifi. (I've never had an Android or any smart phone before). Last night after activating the phone and setting up the data connection with Consumer Cellular, I noticed that the Chrome browser icon was missing from the app tray. I don't know exactly when that happened, but it was possibly related to the data setup process.
I've searched Google and the forums here and haven't come up with a solution. I've seen suggestions for unhiding icons, but I don't seem to have the option to hide/unhide icons, or at least I'm not finding it (if I hit the menu button from the app drawer, I just get 'manage apps' and 'system settings').
I also a suggestion to look at the disabled apps list, but the 'manage apps' function doesn't indicate that Chrome is disabled. It is still there - I don't think it can be uninstalled.
I'm not sure what else to do. Is factory reset the next step? Not looking forward to setting up the data connection again (I guess I would need to go through all the settings and write them down, unless there is a way to back them up).
I'm compiling my own ROM project from source, and I wonder if I can remove the home "icon" on the app drawer for the stock gingerbread launcher2.apk? From source that is.
For example the latest LauncherPro have the option for removing/hiding the home icon on the app drawer, I pretty much want to do the same basically on the default Gingerbread Launcher.
When viewing sites with a lot of Flash ads like GameFAQs I get an annoying popup telling me that I have lost the data connection and the page could not be loaded. Only the ads are not loading, but I'd like a way to ignore or fix this.

I now have Opera 5 Mini Beta and that Orange Browser labelled "Internet" but not the stock one. I want it back as its great at rendering pages etc..
Anybody know what time/temp widget this is? I removed it while playing around and can't seem to find it in the widget list.

I installed froyo this morning and had to download all my apps again including dolphin hd, now when I use the pinch to zoom the text does't automatically fit the screen anymore, I've checked and the auto fit box is checked.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI had dolphin installed to check out MT, but really never liked it. As soon as the MT update was installed on my phone, I removed dolphin. Then I noticed that my regular browser was no longer multitouch. As soon as I installed dolphin again, multitouch returned to the stock browser. So to me it looks like dolphin was installing the same MT files that the stock browser now uses, and when it uninstalls, it removes those files. Looks like this may be something dolphin needs to update for. Can anyone else try this out and confirm it for me?
I am thinking maybe I can uninstall dolphin, then reflash the update, but I am not sure if this will cause a problem, can I just reinstall and update on top of an update?
I recently clicked on a pop up on my phone it asked me if i wanted home or sense to be my default, so i clicked home but i have lost four of my screens and everything is different can anyone tell me how to get it back to the way it was without loosing anything.

View 10 Replies View RelatedWhenever I am using any app and press the home button, the home screen blacks out for a few secs and it takes around 10 sec to get all the icons back and before I can start using my phone again. I am using a non rooted mytouch 3g.
This problem does not happen if I exit an app by pressing the back button. It becomes very annoying at times.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI am designing a home screen widget. I ran this widget on a HTC Hero device, which has a screen of 320 pixels * 480 pixels with mdpi. It ran perfect on HTC Hero. The widget takes 3 cells * 2 cells space, i.e. 240 pixels * 200 pixels.Then I ran this widget on a Nexus One device, which has a screen of 480 pixels * 800 pixels, mdpi. Since Nexus One also is mdpi, so I though 240dip is equivalent to 240 pixels on Nexus One and 200dip is equivalent to 200 pixels on Nexus One, so the widget will not take 3 cells * 2 cells space on Nexus One device. To my surprise, when running on Nexus One device, the widget take exact 3 cells * 2 cells, about 360 pixels * 300 pixels, on Nexus One device.I am confused. The layout xml above specifies 240dip in width and 200dip in height for the widget, but why did it take 360 pixels * 300 pixels on Nexus One Device? What am I missing?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI set up my google account when I first received the phone and everything. However now when I open up the home screen the Google Search bar has disappeared. Gone into Basic settings > Setup Guide to check details but Google Account settings not even listed! (Just SIM Contacts; Time & Date; Email; Facebook; Twitter; Sync) Have checked Applications and it shows Google Search (enhanced) as the default setting but it is not showing up on my screen either as the search bar or in the applications. Have tried taking out and re-inserting the sim card. Any ideas on how to get it re-instated?
