I'm pretty sure my home screen would do landscape with keyboard closed the first couple of days I had the phone and now it wont do it unless the keyboard is out. Anyone else have the same issue?

Home screen used to do landscape immediate and always. Now it doesn't do landscape at all unless I slide the keyboard out and it pops into landscape immediately. Then when I close the keyboard it goes back to portrait even when I'm holding the phone in landscape. Not sure how to fix this, help please.

Then today it did it when I set it down on a table, and when I turned it back on the battery went from 42 to 12 percent. I then reset the phone and it was at 24 percent. Is anyone else having this problem? Could the battery just be losing contact?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI currently have an issue with the epic. its not the battery issue or gps but the keyboard input. Sometimes at sporadic times (not every time)when I type a random letter or character I have to press a button two times to replicate the character or space and I'm a fast keyboard typer and its been bothering me lately and I'm wondering if anyone else has those issues? I already have went to sprint and had them exchanged the phone and the new phone still to no avail does the same thing. I thought it was Advanced task killer that may have caused my phone to be acting weird but I hard reset the phone and still no avail. Maybe its just a bad keyboard? both times? the phone is an august build and battery is also an august build. I'm at work right now and plan to hit the sprint repair store near home. I just want to know if anyone else has this issue? So I dont want to look like an idiot to the tech.
View 49 Replies View RelatedOk I first just want to say that this phone is so nice, and I was so scared to get it from everybody on this thread complaining but I don't see why.
-I had no mounting problems.
-Memory is awesome compared to the g1
-I don't see no lag. I think people say this because of the vibrate when touch method samsung has on it.
-I actually like the touchwiz interface over the boring silver android. Messaging is awesome with the picture of the friend you messaging.
-The cube is pointless though, but friends love it.
-It's plastic but it really don't feel cheap at all.
-Battery life isn't too good, but what smartphone battery is? What else do you expect from a phone with that nice of a display screen.
-No reboots
-I haven't had a force close yet, but when I had the g1 i had at least 10 a day.
-Has to be the nicest camera phone since my old n95.
-There was complaints about overlapping objects on the home screen. I love that it can do that.
-My only complaint is the 4 buttons on the home screen. They are just simply pointless.
I feel alot are just being too picky. This has to be the best android phone behind the nexus one. Some questions though...
1.Can the home screen go into landscape mode?
2. Anyway to lower the brightness of the camera flash. It's blinding lol
3.Im trying to install some apps from my g1. (cracked) Most install but some don't. Is this problem because the apps are only for android 1.6 + ?
4. Anyone have any super thin case's? Where did you find them?
5. On the commercial about this phone with the comic artist. He changed the color of the picture with some app. What app is that? Is it pre-installed?
6.Does the phone lag any with a new keyboard installed? I was going to install swype or better keyboard.
7.Is there not any light's to show that the phone is charging, or when you have notifications?
8.This might sound ******ed, but is the screen glass?
I want to use this phone as a digital camera replacement. However when I turn on tehcamera, the power button turns into a "lock" button. There's no way to turn off the screen. So first I have to hit the home key. Then it takes about 8 seconds for the camera to disable before it returns to the home screen.Only then can I shut the phone using the power key. Then if I want to use the camera,I have to turn on the screen and relaunch the camera app.This feels completely wrong to me and makes it hard to use as a pure digital camera.

My Moment does that and it's annoying as I end up pocket dialing people or opening up programs because the keyboard slide on it gets jarred and unlocks the screen.This will be a deal breaker for me between the Epic 4G and EVO.

I couldn't find any settings connected to this, but even when the keyboard would slide (just a little), the phone would automatically turn on and unlock. I want to prevent that from happening.

It happens when I'm in the browser, email app, etc. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason behind it.

It shows a symbol of a closed envelope with a red L in a circle next to the text message that I tried to send. I'm having no problems receiving texts or with any other functions.

This is typically not too noticeable, but sometimes it takes up to 5 seconds. Is there a way to make it so that opening the keyboard just resumes this phone already in landscape? Also, has anyone figured out a way to get the home screen to respect switching to landscape when rotated, like all well-developed apps do?

View 7 Replies View Relatedi understand this might be a known issue (radio crash after froyo update). anybody know what to do?rooted my phone awhile ago... upgraded to Froyo a couple days ago (leaked FROYO.DJ29) and things were moving along pretty well. today while the phone was sitting inactive, it decided to go into airplane mode.the last thing it did was try to download a google maps update.i'm completely unable to get out of airplane mode. if i unselect it, it says "turning on wireless connections." but never finishes that. resetting doesn't help. taking the battery out doesn't help.in fact, the date on the phone reset to December 31, 2004.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI've tried looking at the videos and pics, but I am unable to see if there is a Tab key. The Tab key is very nice for completing online forms and logins. The original Touch Pro had this key, but they ditched it on the 2nd version.
Anyone know about this yet? Or does Android have another way for tabbing?
