On the button of my home screen I have 4 main icons Even if you switch to another screen those 4 stay on the bottom of the screen.
How can I change those icons to different programs?

I'm trying to figure out how to change the icons at the bottom of the screen but I'm failing miserably at it...or I'm beginning to think that it's just not possible?
Specifically I'm wanting to change the Messaging icon out to be the one for Handcent (or any other messaging icon other than stock). Yes, I realize I can set it to point to use Handcent by default, but when you initially open it, it doesn't start to use Handcent initially, only once you go into conversations does it start to use the Handcent application.
Is there a way to do this like there is on the other Galaxy devices or is this completely locked down on the Epic and I need to download another UI in order to change this?
how to change bottom icons on home screen (e.g. phone,contact,message,internet,apps) i think its called the bottom dock its for new Samsung Galaxy S3 4G i cant find any forum or vids on youtube, i can find plenty on how to change the icons on the lock screen but thats not what i looking for.

View 6 Replies View Relatedi saw a video back when i was debating between evo and epic, and it showed me how to change those bottom 4 buttons (PHONE CONTACTS MESSAGING APPLICATIONS). i figure phone and contacts kinda go hand in hand so its a waste, and i use HANDCENT. now that i have the phone i cant figure out how to do it to save my life. anyone have any ideas?
The same feature also allowed you to swap around the applications view, and delete unused home pages. i dont need 7 pages id be fine with 4 or 5 (multicon FTW)

View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Epic for about a week and have noticed that from time to time that the screen flashes VERY briefly to the home screen/lock screen when inside an app.
It happens when I'm in the browser, email app, etc. There does not seem to be any rhyme or reason behind it.
Is there a way to get the icons in my home screens to show the entire name? There's plenty of room if it just goes to a second line.

Then when I close the keyboard it goes back to portrait even when I'm holding the phone in landscape. Not sure how to fix this, help please.

View 2 Replies View RelatedWhenever I am using any app and press the home button, the home screen blacks out for a few secs and it takes around 10 sec to get all the icons back and before I can start using my phone again. I am using a non rooted mytouch 3g.
This problem does not happen if I exit an app by pressing the back button. It becomes very annoying at times.
I have the HTC Incredible. Recently I realized that I cannot add any of the apps that I download from the Android Market to any of my home screens. If I try to add a program to my home scree, none of the apps recently installed (e.g mint.com, yelp, dictionary) show up in the list. But if I go to "All programs", they are there. Has anyone else had such a problem?

View 10 Replies View RelatedWhen my Epic boots off a fresh restart I have approximately 140M of Ram available but over the next day for so it drops to as low as 60M and I will notice sometimes when i kill apps with ATK it kills 22 apps and then it will raise my RAM up to ~120. It seems that when my ram runs lows it shuts off my live wallpaper and reverts to the standard. My question is why do all these programs load and eat up the RAM when i have never used them. IE media hub, amazon mp3 , qik etc etc they all just start on their own running in the background. Is there anyway to get them to stop loading and is killing all of them at once a bad idea?

How would I change those icons with different icons? Mainly the email and browser. How do I turn off or at least severly limit the data that goes to and from my phone. I was wondering if anyone with knowledge of panda home could help me out with switching application icons on the home screen. I try to change it through the standard methods and I'm using a .png file, which I thought was the required filetype, but I get a message that says "applying..." but nothing happens. I was wondering if anyone else had any ideas. I've heard of an app called bettercut, but it seems silly to pay for an app when in theory, I already have the needed feature installed. View 8 Replies View RelatedOkay so here is another strange thing I noticed with the update.2 of the 3 phones that got the update now have a little home icon on the bottom of one of the touchwiz screens when you are in the edit mode. This page with the home icon can now be moved to whereever you want it in the positioning of the 1-7 screens you have and when you click on the "home" key at the very bottom it will go to that screen. Previously there was no home key and your home screen was either the middle or far left screen depending on the number of screens you had.
