Browser keeps exiting, but I've only noticed it when I visit a certain page. Nothing comes up as in a force closing it just goes back to my phones home screen. I've tried clearing cache and that didn't work. Its really annoying, & I don't want to have to download another browser thats a last resort for me.

For example when I was using the camera and as soon as a snap a pic it goes back to the home screen, not all the time, but annoying nonetheless. It just did that when I was using google maps also.

View 1 Replies View RelatedSay a user runs my app from the HOME screen. The app has 3 tabs. Say he/she selectes a different tab, so he/she is in a different screen (same task). Now - if the user presses BACK - the device returns to the HOME screen. If the user launches my app again - the default tab is shown. BUT - if the user presses HOME - the device returns to the HOME screen (same). If the user launches my app again - the OTHER tab is shown.
I understand (sort of) the logic - BACK returns to previous app, popping my app from the history stack, so when launched again - it is started from scratch. But this is confusing my customers - they say it's a bug ! They dont understand the different between two keys doing the same thing as far as they see (returning to HOME). Moreover - I see a different behavior with the built-in DIALER app - I change tabs, press HOME, launch the app again - and it starts with the default tab.
Every time i go to www.gizmodo.com using the stock web browser, once the page loads the phone goes back to the home screen,why?

Is this normal? Did I accidental do it in the settings? HELP its driving me crazy

Something weird happens to my phone. At times when I am browsing through my apps in the applications window, the phone suddenly goes back to the home screen after about 10-15 secs of inactivity. It vibrates a little bit as if the back button is being pressed. I am 100% sure I am not pressing the back button.
Other times, when I start up an app (gmail, facebook, internet, music player, etc) it goes back after about 10 secs of inactivity. It seems to always want to go back to the home screen and it will keep going back till it arrives at the home screen.
I just got my phone two days ago and haven't done anything much on the phone yet.
I've had my Moto Droid since it basically came out last Nov and I have never ever run into a problem with the phone until last night. I had a phone call and after I got off the phone, I noticed my droid reseted itself and it wasn't going back to the home screen. Meaning it would just display the word "Droid" then go right into the droid red eye screen, then right back to the word Droid and just kept repeating itself.
I took the battery out and put it back in, but it kept doing the same thing. I am really not sure what would cause my phone to do this, but the only new change I can think of was that I installed the "TMZ" application to my droid about 3 hours prior to this happening. But the application worked fine and I really hope it wasn't because of that. Is there anything I can do before going to Verizon? I would really hate giving up my phone with all my stuff in it, but I know theres probably not much I can do if I cant even get to the home screen.
I have the galaxy discover phone from bell . new to android always had an iphone . Explain the difference between the google search bar on the home screen and the browser when i go to the applications .
does it matter which i use ? for example if i know the www address or if I just want to search say for car rentals and do not know the web address.
also my phone is a bell prepaid phone and when I use the browser to find a page i get a little pop up that says something about bell mobi whatever that is and telling me to bookmark it.
On my incredible, the home, menu, back, and search notations on the body of the phone below the screen and above the trackball are not illuminated 95% of the time. If I am in the dark the notations are illuminated for a while, even when in a bright room. Then they go dark again.
Questions: Is there a setting I can adjust which can illuminate these notations all the time? Is this normal behavior?
I think I hit something while I was asleep and deactivating my alarm clock. My phone has this stupid blue screen with shortcuts on the bottom. I want to return to the standard home screen. In addition, whenever I try to make a call the phone makes the call with my speakerphone activated. It's a Galaxy SII Skyrocket.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I am using any app and press the home button, the home screen blacks out for a few secs and it takes around 10 sec to get all the icons back and before I can start using my phone again. I am using a non rooted mytouch 3g.
This problem does not happen if I exit an app by pressing the back button. It becomes very annoying at times.
I've notice recently my Hero has been acting up, almost as if it is rebooting. However, I don't believe it is a full reboo, i.e. no sprint logo during boot. Only occurs when exiting out from the internet browser. As soon as you hit the home screen to exit, the phone returns to the white htc load page. It appears like it is the full reboot but it does not move next to the Sprint/Now pages. Next the desktop appears but it is grayed out (i.e. my desktop still shows but grayed out, no icons or widgets showen) and the spinning loading icon shows up. Once it finishes loading things appear back to normal. Almost makes me wonder if this reboot is more like sense rebooting and not the entire phone/system. Not sure if this is possible but I want to get anyone's thoughts and if anyone else had expirenced this.

It does not automatically restart when using the Home button to exit and this only occurs one time (after the second attempt to exit with the back button, it exits cleanly). Also, I can reproduce this consistently on the Motorola Droid, but have not been able to reproduce on the G1 or the emulator running 2.0. I've tried changing the launchMode of my activities, but have not found something that works. These are my activities:
1. Splash Screen, Single Instance, Main/Launcher 2. Help, Single Instance 3. High Score, Single Top 4. Preferences, Single Top 5. Options, Single Top 6. Game, Single Top, with SurfaceView
The steps to reproduce the problem are: 1. User starts application, launching Splash Screen Activity 2. User starts game, launching Game Activity 3. Game Activity launches Options Activity (for result) 4. Game Activity restarts with result and game begins. 5. Pressing Back Button returns to Splash Screen Activity 6. Pressing Back Button again, briefly shows home screen, then relaunches Game Activity which starts Options Acitivity 7. Pressing Back Button again finally shows the home screen
When i fire up my youtube app, i get a quick black screen flash and it goes back to home screen. The app doesnt launch at all. It was working just fine for several months, all of a sudden it started doing this.

When I click update it tries to acquire location but can't. I think I've tried everything to get it to locate my location. I've turned it on through google settings. I've turned on GPS on my phone. Trying to figure out what I did to delete my browser from the drawer....you can see in the first picture what it looked like earlier today and then in the second picture what it looks like now. I've tried dragging the browser icon down but it just replaces the phone or vice versa. I can't get it to go back to 3 options.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI have the tronsmart CX-919 mini pc running 4.2 and there is an issue with the browser reverting back to the home page or the previous page. When I try to display a webpage on our intranet it reverts back to the homepage or previous page after about 3 hours. I need it to display constantly. I read somewhere that it was a Download Manager issue and disabling it would work but I can't find where to disable it. Also it was stated that Flash was an issue but i tried uninstalling it and it just reinstalled itself and the problem kept occurring. I just want to display a page in a browser and for it to stay on the screen (full screen) until I manually navigate away from it. I plan to leave it on for weeks at a time.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have 4 subscriptions in the news app and the widget on the home screen. The problem is, read news keeps refreshing on the app after i've read and deleted it. If I read all the news, then delete them all so that it's empty, the widget will "load news" and everything will come back. Is this the way it's supposed to work? I thought only unread articles were supposed to sync but mine just keeps loading all the same crap again, as well as new stuff too.

The long bar across the bottom with call etc has disappeared and changed to one square box. I have uninstalled the application but there is nothing to change it back. Can anyone help?
I'm a new Nexus One user, when I want to shut off the phone I have to use the back button to go through everything I've done for the phone to return to the home screen, if I don't the next time I turn it on, it will go to the last used screen. Is there a way to quickly get back to the home screen and deleting the others?
