How I can get the Google search bar back on my home screen? Somehow it ended up on a side screen, and I dragged it into the red trash area, and I can't figure out how to get it back.... couldn't find it in the widgets or shortcuts.

Or is this something that can't be done unless the phone is rooted? One thing that drove my wife nuts when we were checking out the phone is that every time she hit the Home key, that Google search box was right there on the main screen staring at her. I hope this is something that be gotten rid of? Anyone know about this?

The guy working at sprint told me all the epic phones are that unresponsive. Is this true?

I can't figure out how to add it back to my home page? Holding the Menu key brings up the Search box, but is there a way to add the app back to my home page?

However the results retrieved from this function are really bad and not at all consistent with the text I pass to it. Is there a better method of doing this to achieve accurate results?

Now after this, when I start the Google search app on my Nexus device and type a random letter - I still get suggestions based on my old searches. How can I completely clear my search history stored at Google?
I had it working fine on my Blackberry - can't get it right on the EPIC. It looks like it syncs fine from GCAL to the phone - but not from the phone to GCAL.

It seems like the directions for clearing the calendar cache and other tips don't work for the epic. I have five calendars on my Google Calendar : Personal, School, Finance, Work and Tasks. I am only getting Personal and Finance on my Epic for some reason. I am not sure why this occurred but I have not figured out a solution and its getting very frustrating since I bought an Android phone almost specifically for the easy google calendar integration. Any ideas for correcting this solely for the Epic?

View 18 Replies View RelatedPer the title, there are new versions of Maps and Street View in the market. The Maps update is just to add walking directions I think and the street view was a more polished update. Street view doesn't work after install, at least on my Epic. I open maps, pick a road and long-click on it. A balloon pops up saying "Loading address" for about 30 seconds then give me a pop-up error that says "Data Connection Lost, Retrying" But, data is working just fine on the phone everywhere else. Try rebooting the phone after install, it helped. Still some errors but much better than before. It is awesome when it works. Try compass mode.

He wants to sync his contacts and calendar.On my Droid, I go to accounts & sync > add account > Google > enter my address and password.i get offered to sync Calendar and/or Contacts, by clicking on the check box.On his Epic, he adds the account, but there are no options, no check boxes! Is this different somehow? It works fine with his gmail, but not his generic Google account. On my Droid it all works fine and everything is in sync.

2) How do I turn off Google Mail? When I am home, I don't need my phone to also be running in the background checking my email - as I can check my email from my laptop.
l uninstalled Google Search and Google Play store apps, but they were not completely uninstalled and now I can't reinstall them because the store says they are installed. I cannot find them on my android tablet and so I cannot use them. What is a good app to completely uninstall them. Some of these apps will not install on my Lenovo tablet.
