When I go into my contacts, I have a crap load of random contacts. I go into my contacts and click on groups, and click on Google, and I have 152 "Not assigned" contacts. People I may have just emailed once or do not need them in my phone. Is there anyway to delete these contacts from here?

Im having some issues with my epic 4g and i think restoring it might help, but before i do i want to know if my contacts will be deleted.

He wants to sync his contacts and calendar.On my Droid, I go to accounts & sync > add account > Google > enter my address and password.i get offered to sync Calendar and/or Contacts, by clicking on the check box.On his Epic, he adds the account, but there are no options, no check boxes! Is this different somehow? It works fine with his gmail, but not his generic Google account. On my Droid it all works fine and everything is in sync.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI have looked around for a fix but haven't found any yet.When I create trimmed ringtones via the htc trimmer and assign them to a contact, they will work fine until I reboot the phone. I tried some fixes like moving the ringtones to the SD card and that has allowed the phone to find them upon reboot but it will not put the tones back with the contacts. Is there a way to permanently stick the ringtone to the contact so they don't un-link after a reboot?

I have all of my ringtones in an folder on my sd card (/sdcard/media/audio/ringtones). I have a custom ringtone set as default and other custom ringtones set for a few of my contacts. However, when I receive a call the phone will only occasionally play the correct ringtone. Most times it plays either the default ringtone, or the ringtone assigned to the last person that called (this last option being more common).
Am I the only one having this problem? I purchased my samsung epic a week ago and every since I've been getting the message that my facebook contacts is unable to syn at the moment an error of some sort,and too try later.WTH? My facebook calender syncs but not the contacts.I thought that it was th phone so I took it back to the sprint store they restarted my hard drive but it still didn't work,thy sent me to the repair center at another store and the general manager told me to go back and tell them to replace the phone and that I shouldn't be having issues so soon. Well I did that,they gave me a new phone and guess what.yep u guessed it,still the same issue.I went back to the repair center they played with it for 2 straight hours while I waited impatiently and still I walked away with the same problem. What the heck and I suppose to do now?

I have found a permssion called "READ_OWNER_DATA" but I don't seem able to find out a way of seeing what the permission allows you to do.
It doesn't seem that you can totally delete browsing history on the Epic. On the browser I pressed Menu, More, and deleted all browsing history, data, cache etc. So when I checked in history there wasn't any websites listed. BUT when in the browser you click on the back button, you still can get to the previously seen sites. So how can you totally delete your browsing history?

How can I or is there a setting that turns off this auto open of the next email after I delete an email? View 1 Replies View RelatedI am syncing contacts from Gmail, Exchange, and Facebook.I have contacts in Gmail that do not have pictures (nor do I have them as friends on Facebook).All of these contacts show the same picture - which isn't any of them.It's a picture that used to be the main profile picture (but not anymore) of a random friend on Facebook. The picture shows up when I click on the contact or when the contact calls, but not when I'm scrolling through the contact list - it shows no picture then or when I try to edit the contact.I can't seem to get this picture to go away on any of those contacts, and it's not especially helpful.I really would rather no picture show up than a random picture of someone else.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI use Outlook/Exchange as my primary contact database, so I only wanted to sync my DX with Exchange for contacts. However, before I was able to get to my Google account settings on the X to tell it not to sync Google contacts - it had already synced them. Now, my contacts are a mess because of the damn "linked profiles", so practically every contact has some trash from my unmanaged Google contacts. Old email addresses, dupes, mislabled phone numbers (work, home, etc.) It's ugly and frustrating, since I keep my Exchange contacts perfectly edited and managed.
My problem is that I can't figure out how to delete the Google contacts from my DX other than doing it one at a time. (Since I have over 1500 contacts, that would be a huge pain.) Is there any way I can purge these? I'm a power Gmail user, so I can't just delete the entire Google account. (Not sure that's possible anyway.)
On my Hero, when I saved a contact, I saved it as a google contact then I'd choose what group to put it in. I don't have that option now, if I choose google it throws the contacts who knows where, if I choose phone contact it gives me 3 options of groups but not the group I. Created.

I need some assistance deleting my contacts from my Samsung Vibrant. I have found a way to use Outlook and would prefer that since my contacts are all messed up in Gmail. Problem is I have deleted that gmail account and don't how to delete the contacts in my phone!

View 6 Replies View RelatedWhen i got my new phone, all the contacts were transferred over from my previous phone. I also have all my contacts in Google. When Google sync'd to the phone it created a duplicate of all the contacts. Is there a way to delete all the phone contacts so that all i have is the google contacts, which is what i use as the "master".
I know i can reset the phone to factory defaults but i have a lot of apps, music and pictures on there that i would prefer to not have to try and backup and reload.
