Motorola Droid :: External Battery Charger - Voltage Output
Aug 7, 2010Amazon.com: Genuine Motorola Droid P323 Battery Charger System: Electronics Amazon.com: Motorola BP6X A855 Droid OEM 1300mah Standard Battery: Cell Phones & Service Anyone use these 2 items from Amazon? I'd like to get a second battery and an external charger, this seems like a cheap solution while keeping OEM parts. The only thing I'm really questioning is the voltage output of the external charger to the battery. Any way to tell if it will charger correctly? If you know the answer, please provide reasoning.

Oct 7, 2010The AT&T manual advises you to fully charge your battery when you get it while samsung tells you what I have always heard, which is to fully drain and recharge the battery when you first get the phone. This is what I have always done. Is fully discharging and then recharging the right thing to do? I would assume so, but I want to hear it from you guys.
Second. After the problem, I have become damn near paranoid on charging the phone. Since the purchase I ran it down completely until the phone shut itself down. I then fully charged the phone in one sitting. Am I now free to plug and pull when I need to? Should I do a couple more full cycles? God, this all sounds silly even while typing this..lol, but I have been sitting it opposite rooms because I am afraid to move the phone and break the charge...lol. God...I feel dumb. Don't laugh too much...Maybe I am?
HTC :: Voltage Difference B/w BB / Incredible Charger?
Apr 30, 2010I forgot to bring my Droid Incredible charger with me to work. Since the battery was getting low I decided to use my BlackBerry Storm charger on it. The ports are the same, and it goes in without any problems. However, after doing this, it became difficult to unlock. Swiping down usually didn't work. If I was able to swipe down I couldn't get past the "password puzzle." I thought the phone was locked up so I pulled the battery, but it still wouldn't swipe after coming back up. I took the charger out and realized I could swipe again. I repeated this, again plugging the charger in and again I was unable to swipe to unlock. Is there a voltage difference between the BB charger and the Incredible charger? It seems like it was charging it fine. JuicePlotter shows a charge while it was plugged in.

Jul 27, 2010Possibly a simple answer to this question -- can the USB charger that ships with the Droid X be used with 220 volts in addition to 110 volts? I am planning to take my Droid X to India and need to figure out if I should plug the charger into a 110/220V travel converter, or if the USB charger is already dual voltage and I'll only need a plug point adapter. The voltage specified on the charger has 240V as the upper range, which leads me to think it should work with 220V.

I plugged it into a wall charger almost immediately, but since then it has been unable to power on.Now the green light indicator comes on steady, turns off, and then the Motorola symbol comes up and then goes away, and then the green light turns on again.Its been charging for about 45 minutes and I'm starting to get a bit worried. As I am on call for my job I need it on overnight as well. I always plug it into the HTC charger at bed time, but this morning I noticed something odd. When I woke up (still plugged in) the battery was showing 100%. As soon as I unplugged the charger, it dropped to 90%. Aug 17, 2010Just got a new Desire (ordered it ages ago but had to wait for the delivery with Super LCD) and sometimes, but not every time, I see that the battery drops anywhere between 7-9 percent moments after disconnecting the charger.
I'm curious whether anyone else has had this. Is this a calibration thing, or a problem with the phone, or the battery? Or an app? I'm using both Battery Indicator and JuicePlotter and they both show the same thing, the same drop. Curiously JuicePlotter tells me the drop sometimes occurs once or twice while charging in the night, too.
I'm a bit loathe to send it back to the shop after waiting well over 6 weeks for the thing in the first place, so I thought I'd check here first. I'm hoping it's just teething issues and will balance out in a few days. I got the phone about 4 days ago.

Mar 26, 2010As usual, these are update.zip format. Rename to update.zip, place on root of sdcard, and install (don't forget to 'allow').
My advice to you, in selecting a kernel, is to #1 try the lowV varieties first. Then select the slowest kernel that exceeds what you expect to run on a day to day basis. So if you plan on running 800-1000, run the 1.0lv kernel.
If for some reason you get stuck on the 'M' while booting, first try switching to the mediumV kernel. If that does not work, back the speed down, say from 1.25 to 1.2, or 1.2, to 1.1, etc.

Jun 2, 2010So this weekend was my first real world test using the GPS turn by turn for a long car ride (about an hour). I had everything all set plugged in and started the music player (not Pandora) running in the background while the GPS was displaying on the screen. I also had the bluetooth synced to the car. To my surprise, the battery started to drain. It was pretty slow but after about an hour around 5-10% of the battery drained even while plugged in. Do you think it is my after market car charger from monoprice (For only $1.46 each when QTY 50+ purchased - Motorola V8, V9 Series Car Charger for RAZR2 | Motorola It has been working great in the car for about 2 weeks with Pandora playing and bluetooth.
Anyone else experiencing battery drain while plugged in the car using GPS? I think I read someone having a similar situation but with the Verizon charger. I am also using the stock battery. If not, please let me know which car charger you are using with a link if possible. I can't continue using this one if there is one out there that will keep me charged in the car.
