Does anyone make a charger for the battery alone like the Instinct use to have? I loved being able to have two batteries and being able to charge one while using the other and it was small enough to take with you and used USB for it's charging source.

I have been able to find online Hero instructions in PDF, but wondering if there are any good online instructions that might also include video. I am getting a Hero next week and will need all the help I can get in figuring out how to use it.
By the way, does anyone know of a good car charger for the Hero?
is there a way to have a seperate notification sound for my email (not gmail), & voicemail, if so how?

View 6 Replies View RelatedIs it okay to charge the Sprint HTC Hero with a Blackberry charger? They are both listed as using MINI-USB ports but when you look at the actual plug, they look different. The Blackberry charger does fit, and charges, but i was just wondering if anyone had any issues. I went to the sprint store and asked them, but they said that they "heard" it would mess things up. But obviously they just wanted me to buy a car charger from them.

It seems that the connection is a bit off...the phone has to be laying down in the passenger seat to charge. When I pick it up or move it around, it doesn't charge. Is this going to cause problems down the road? And why would it be doing this after only a week?

View 29 Replies View RelatedI've had my Hero for a few months now and it has been wonderful. However, the other night, the phone wouldn't charge all the way, so I unplugged it, restarted it, and charged it and it charged up to 90% through the night. Last night it only charged up to about 50% give or take. This morning at work, I plugged it in and instead of charging, it got extremely hot and then it died.
This afternoon, I took it to the Sprint store and they put in a new battery and the phone worked again, but it got REALLY hot again. I took it back in and they looked at it again and said the phone has definitely got a problem and the cause of this is water. It has been raining, but I don't recall ever having any water get in the phone - just the occasional rain drop hits the screen and I wipe it off. I never keep it out in the rain. They are saying I'll have to do an insurance claim to replace it because of water damage. They say there are 4 water marks in the phone. I find this so hard to believe and don't like that they want me to spend $100 on a new phone.
Maybe this has been talked about before but im going to ask this anyway. A couple of nights ago my battery was at about 30% (yellow) so i decided to turn my phone off and go to sleep, well when i woke up my i turned my hero back on, and the battery was at 9%. So last night the battery was low again and i decided to take the battery out and when i woke up i put it back on and my hero had the same battery life as last night
View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I got home from work today my battery was down to 20%. I plugged the charger in then started messing around on youtube. An hour later my phone shuts off and wouldn't power back on. Red led was blinking for about five minutes then the phone powered itself back on. I checked osmonitor and it showed my battery at 0% and battery temp at 140f. Will the battery not charge if your using this phone or is my charger bad?

I am going on vacation and want to bring my IPod, but not my laptop. Can I use the wall charger from my Hero and plug the USB cord from my IPod into the wall to charge the IPod while on vaction?

I use a blackberry at work and it seems when I use that one, it is the only time I lose all screen functionality. It starts going haywire. If I touch the A key, it will select the N or something completely off the wall. If I unplug it, wait about 60 seconds, it works again. Wonder if anyone else has an issue with other brand chargers? Going to toss this one but thought I'd let people know in case they run into the same issue.

View 8 Replies View RelatedIn my previous phone I could set different ringtones for those in my contacts list and then another ringtone for those numbers not in my contacts list so I could tell by the ringtone if someone was calling that was in my contacts list or not.On the Hero there doesn't seem to be any way to do this.I was also able to set different volume levels for various notifications (ie, louder for phone calls and quieter for email and sms notifications).Does anyone know if this is possible on the hero?
