I notice when ever I set a wallpaper the image quality is crap. all the wallpapers i try are at least 800x480 but most are normal computer wallpaper size so they should fit fine after being cropped.

i have been trying to figure out how to use an image for my wallpaper, but the crop box comes up over it everytime, and it forces me to crop the picture , which makes it fuzzy and incomplete. this also happens when adding an image to a contact. HELP? I have tried stretching the crop box as far as it will go, but that is only 50%at best. i also have tried NOT tapping anything on the screen other than save but it still crops it.

I am used to my Hero showing a really good version of there facebook pic. does anyone know how to fix this. i want to use the facebook pics for my contacts but they just look horrible.

If I wanted to do the same, what would be the easiest and best quality wise way to do this? I am not talking about streaming movies from the internet, but the best way to either buy and download or convert videos from DVD or Blu Ray to video files to copy to the player. Please share your finds. Maybe there is an app where you can buy and download (while on wifi or whatever).

There is just one issue that I would love to gloss over but it's important given that it is a phone so I'd like your input. There was one other thread on this that sounds kind of like what I'm experiencing but I just wanted to be sure before I go in and exchange it.
When I am on a call, it is rather difficult for me to hear the person on the other end. I have the volume turned all the way up but not only is that not that loud but they also sound muffled. If it were one or the other I might be able to deal, but I never had trouble hearing on my BlackBerry and I never had the volume turned all the way up. It's gotten to the point where I'm unknowingly pressing the phone against my ear really hard so I can hear better. Has anyone else noticed that callers sound muffled? Should I exchange it?
Does anyone else get poor quality out of their voice recordings? Audio on calls and on recorded video are perfect but voice memos have static.

View 3 Replies View RelatedWhen I try to set a wallpaper from my own gallery, it only allows me to select a specific part of the picture. For example on the iphone I could resize the selection to fit the screen as much as I wanted. But the captivate sets a box and i cant make it bigger or smaller to select the entire wallpaper. and also doesn't matter how high res the picture is, it always looks blurry. Unlike the stock wallpapers, they look super sharp and clear. Anyone know what im doing wrong or how to fix it so i can choose to display an entire picture as my wallpaper rather than just a small portion?

I've tried lowering the volume but it still seems to be doing it. Not to mention, even with the audio turned all the way up it's hard to hear the people I'm talking to.

View 5 Replies View RelatedMy captivate seems to keep freezing when doing things, most notably when I goto my downloads on the market, using Zedge to download a new wallpaper or using juiceplotter and just opening it, I get a black screen and it sits for a period of time approx a min or two...anyone else having these types of issues. I did do a factor reset this morning and also installed adw.launcher, but it still does it when using those programs and some others just can't remember which ones right off hand. thanks!!

Even if I use a wallpaper with the correct screen resolution(800 x 480), it still never displays correct on the screen. It seems to always "zoom in".Any idea?

View 2 Replies View RelatedThere's an update.zip for a port of the Galaxy-S live wallpapers here. That contains all the live wallpapers included on the international Galaxy-S. The only one missing from the Captivate is "Ocean Wave". Can someone more familiar with this sort of thing modify that zip to only include "Ocean Wave" as I don't want to risk my other Live Wallpapers. Or does anybody know a different way to get it on the Captivate? (I tried using ADB to just install the .apk for Ocean Wave, and got a force close when I ran it, so that was no good.)

I love stock one because of its looks and functionality, but it has a seriously hard time loading any images that are even remotely large, let alone displaying thumbnails for them. Why does this happen? Why the hell can't I enjoy the 100% good quality HD wallpapers that I download? Every time I set one it instantly loses quality.
Has anyone noticed this? I notice that images become pixelated and their quality gets worse when scrolling. It happens in several areas, so I don't think it is an application issue. I see it in the native browser, Dolphin, even widgets on the home screen. See samples below. Anyone notice this?
