Samsung Captivate : Loking For Image Degradation When Scrolling?
Aug 24, 2010Has anyone noticed this? I notice that images become pixelated and their quality gets worse when scrolling. It happens in several areas, so I don't think it is an application issue. I see it in the native browser, Dolphin, even widgets on the home screen. See samples below. Anyone notice this? On the home screen, notice the shading around the numbers, the weather icon, and then the Google text in the search bar. On the browser, look at the pixelation on the main image when scrolling. Jul 20, 2010When I try to set a wallpaper from my own gallery, it only allows me to select a specific part of the picture. For example on the iphone I could resize the selection to fit the screen as much as I wanted. But the captivate sets a box and i cant make it bigger or smaller to select the entire wallpaper. and also doesn't matter how high res the picture is, it always looks blurry. Unlike the stock wallpapers, they look super sharp and clear. Anyone know what im doing wrong or how to fix it so i can choose to display an entire picture as my wallpaper rather than just a small portion?

Aug 8, 2010i bought two samsung galaxy s and both have their own individual issues mine has the issue of turning off by itself which i found previous post about but the other one which im posting about consistently changes the background back to the default bubble blue live wallpaper, would anyone know if this is a app issue or a hardware issue with the phone becuase i wanna make sure i go back and exchange it, if thats the issue, if its something that can be fixed then please give me the solution because i really dont wanna exchange it and setup the phone all over again for my girlfriend.

Sep 10, 2010i have been trying to figure out how to use an image for my wallpaper, but the crop box comes up over it everytime, and it forces me to crop the picture , which makes it fuzzy and incomplete. this also happens when adding an image to a contact. HELP? I have tried stretching the crop box as far as it will go, but that is only 50%at best. i also have tried NOT tapping anything on the screen other than save but it still crops it.

Jun 25, 2010should be getting my Dinc here in a couple days and was making a couple wallpapers to get ready. My one question is i seen the post hat say the resolution or size is 960wx800h but is that just for the main screen and that will scroll to all 7 pages what i was wondering if not, what does the width of a picture have to be to scroll the total of the 7 pages, like i have a long width wise wallpaper and wanted to make it expand to a diff image on each page. sorry for the trouble and if the 960 already covered that,

Samsung Captivate :: Phone Freezes While Downloading New Wallpaper
Jul 24, 2010My captivate seems to keep freezing when doing things, most notably when I goto my downloads on the market, using Zedge to download a new wallpaper or using juiceplotter and just opening it, I get a black screen and it sits for a period of time approx a min or two...anyone else having these types of issues. I did do a factor reset this morning and also installed adw.launcher, but it still does it when using those programs and some others just can't remember which ones right off hand. thanks!!

Jul 22, 2010Im using launcher pro. I only have one dock. When I set a wallpaper to my home screen it always stretches it out past the screen. Even if I use a wallpaper with the correct screen resolution(800 x 480), it still never displays correct on the screen. It seems to always "zoom in".Any idea?

Even if I put a photo on my phone at the right resolution for the screen, it makes me crop it to fit the phone for home screen scrolling. Jul 16, 2010There's an update.zip for a port of the Galaxy-S live wallpapers here. That contains all the live wallpapers included on the international Galaxy-S. The only one missing from the Captivate is "Ocean Wave". Can someone more familiar with this sort of thing modify that zip to only include "Ocean Wave" as I don't want to risk my other Live Wallpapers. Or does anybody know a different way to get it on the Captivate? (I tried using ADB to just install the .apk for Ocean Wave, and got a force close when I ran it, so that was no good.)

One thing I can't figure out is how to disable the default email viewer? I am getting 2 notifications every time a email comes in. I get one in my gmail launcher and another in the notification bar. The one in the notification bar takes me to the email viewer that is blue and black and is the one I want to turn off.

Jul 25, 2010I have an AT&T Captivate with a 200 MB data plan. I want to have an easy toggle switch to disable any data transfer that counts toward that 200 MB. So far I've only done mild browsing/email and navigation off wireless, yet I've already used 67 Mb in 4-5 days. Anybody else having similar experiences?
I've tried the APNDroid widget set to "Red", but when I disable Wifi, the 3G icon pops right up in the notification bar and 3G seems to work normally. I've also tried the JuiceDefender "Toggle Mobile Data" and tapped it to make it yellow "ON", and again the 3G pops up when I disable WiFi. Anybody having any luck disabling 3G? Also, it would be nice to still get push gmail, which seems like it wouldn't using much data.
Samsung Captivate :: Disable 3G From Going Into Sleep Mode
Sep 9, 2010I've noticed when the phone goes into standby mode (press the right power button), the 3G eventually turns off. Is there a way to prevent that from happening? I'm assuming I can't get any notifications (i.e. Instant Messenger clients, Google Voice, etc.) while the 3G is off, but not sure. I'm also assuming 3G goes into sleep mode, as when I power the phone up I don't see the 3G icon (is that assumption correct?).

But I don't use it, have no reason to use it, and it takes up memory. I've been to the (lack of) settings and can't find anything.I am rooted, but not familiar enough with it to know how to remove the application manually.Using a task killer works for a few minutes, but it takes less than 5 minutes to return on its own.
