I got my phone on Monday and I've noticed that when somebody is talking to me on the phone it causes a vibration type noise. I've tried lowering the volume but it still seems to be doing it. Not to mention, even with the audio turned all the way up it's hard to hear the people I'm talking to.

I made the switch from a BB Bold 9000 to the Captivate last Friday and so far I am in love! There is just one issue that I would love to gloss over but it's important given that it is a phone so I'd like your input. There was one other thread on this that sounds kind of like what I'm experiencing but I just wanted to be sure before I go in and exchange it.
When I am on a call, it is rather difficult for me to hear the person on the other end. I have the volume turned all the way up but not only is that not that loud but they also sound muffled. If it were one or the other I might be able to deal, but I never had trouble hearing on my BlackBerry and I never had the volume turned all the way up. It's gotten to the point where I'm unknowingly pressing the phone against my ear really hard so I can hear better. Has anyone else noticed that callers sound muffled? Should I exchange it?
Is there a way to alter the intensity of vibration or the type of vibration for different notifications? Same goes for the LED light

Everything sounds more clear and detailed than it used to, and even my girlfriend said that she can hear me more clearly than before. I believe improved audio was on the list of things addressed by the update.

Anything over two notches from muted gives me a wierd vibrating noise when the other end is talking semi high pitched and consistently. It sounds almost robotic or like paper. I didnt know if this was just my phone, the majority, or all epics suffer from this problem.

Noticed since I work in a rather quiet environment. During office hours I need to keep it on vibrate mode. When the phone vibrates during a call, it causes a severe rattling noise when the phone is in my hands or if the bottom is not resting against a hard object. Removing the battery compartment cover and repeat, and the rattle is non existent. With the battery cover on, the rattle can be diminished by pressing firmly on the top section of the cover.

No ringtones, no notifications, no mp3s, no sound on videos...calls show up and you can answer, talk and be heard, just no audio other than that.
Media volume up full.
Ringer volume up full.
Notification volume up full.
System volume up full.
Not on silent.
Not on vibrate.
Haven't tried it with a bluetooth headset because she doesn't use one.
Hasn't dropped it...nothing like that.
So i wanted to see if anyone else has the same issue as me. I have my settings so that my keyboard only vibrates (no sound!) for sending texts BUT it makes a clicking noise sometimes when I press the keys. This is really annoying and no. Hard reset does not help. Has anyone else experienced this. my phone is the HTC Incredible.
View 13 Replies View Relatedon my droid x whenever the phone vibrates either when im clicking something, getting a text or a incoming call. the phone makes a buzz noise. also i noticed the phone does not vibrate as heavy as it should and is not as noticable when its in your pocket with the sound off. i used a droid 1 and a droid incredible in the past and both of those the vibration was quieter. so im wondering are everyones droid x like this or does mine just have a defective vibration mechanism or something?

However can someone tell me how to turn off the clicking noise when I press a letter? I like the vibrate to let me know that I touched it but could do without the Storm-esque click. I've had my Samsung Captivate for about 4 days now, and today when i plugged it in mid-day to charge (om nom nom battery life) it started emitting random, extremely obnoxious high-pitched beeps about 2 times per minute. It does it whether or not it's on A/C power, it even does it when the phone's powered off but the battery's in there, I just don't understand why or how to stop it.
Phone is awesome otherwise! Anyone having this issue/ know where it's coming from?
When I first got my Droid, I would often hear a tea kettle going off in the background with pitch changes, like a plane flying over head. Needless to say, I wasn't going to put up with the distracting noises, especially with a brand new phone. So, Verizon replaced the device. Four months later, I'm still having the same problem. The problem isn't that bad but I should hear such noises, regardless. Verizon says they haven't heard of such an issue but will replace the device again. Has anyone else noticed these noises while on a phone call?
View 19 Replies View RelatedI don't own an Epic but have thought about jumping from verizon to sprint for their superior 3G coverage in my area. The only phone that interests me is the Epic so I have been reading a lot of forums and reviews. I have heard that the Samsung is supposed to have great quality through the 3.5mm(I think because of some pre-amp or dedicated part of the processor. I'm no expert and cant remember what I read and where).
I haven't really seen to many comments about the audio quality from the 3.5mm headset jack and also the exterior speaker loudness and quality. Coming from the Original Moto Droid it has the best external speaker on any other phone I've owned thus far but sub-par 3.5mm headset jack quality/loudness. Can anybody give me some of their personal opinions on how they think the Epic external speaker matches up to the original Moto Droid and how about the quality/loudness out of the 3.5mm.
My samsung Captivate doesn't make noise at all. The ringer, notifications and alarm volumes are all maxed out. It also ISN'T on silent.

There was a lot of bass at the concert which greatly I assume distorted the entire videos sound. I am greatly disappointed as I cannot listen to the songs cuz the sound so bad! Is that normal?

View 6 Replies View RelatedOkay this is incredibly annoying. My Captivate locks while I am in a call. If I pull the phone away from my ear, the screen will stay blacked out until I press the power button. For a split second, the screen shows locked then automatically transitions to the phone UI. Even if I use speaker phone, the phone eventually locks and I must depress the power button to end the call or dial other numbers. Is this normal for this device? I previously owned the iPhone 3g and the screen would black out, but would come right back on when you moved the phone away from your face or if you just shook the phone a bit.

It is probably meaningless to ask the Fascinate community because, like the D1 community, you're probably all biased..but how are you liking your Fascinates? Would you upgrade to it today if you had the choice? What's the highest achievable clock speed to date (stable)? How is audio quality, I've heard of speaker crackling when at max volume?
