On my SGS when I set one of my own gallery pictures as my wallpaper, why does the picture quality of my own wallpaper then look very poor? Also why does the selection box appear when I use my own picture, which does not allow you to use all of the photo? Is this fixed and cannot be changed, or is there a setting I can change to sort it out?

When I try to set a wallpaper from my own gallery, it only allows me to select a specific part of the picture. For example on the iphone I could resize the selection to fit the screen as much as I wanted. But the captivate sets a box and i cant make it bigger or smaller to select the entire wallpaper. and also doesn't matter how high res the picture is, it always looks blurry. Unlike the stock wallpapers, they look super sharp and clear. Anyone know what im doing wrong or how to fix it so i can choose to display an entire picture as my wallpaper rather than just a small portion?
View 4 Replies View RelatedI have no issues with GPS with my stock 1.5 ROM. The signal is picked up within a few seconds, even in my basement. Once I updated to Galaxo 1.6.3.2, the gps performance is extremely bad. Most of the time, my phone is only picking up 2 satellites, not enough for a lock. If I am lucky enough to get a lock, it doesn't last very long. I have managed to pick up 7 satellites once, but the reception on each was extremely poor, not enough for a fix. I tried flashing back to stock, which again, had very good GPS performance.
Does anyone have any ideas as to what underlying issue is causing the poor GPS performance? I understand that JC6 ROM (and Galaxo is built around it I believe) is from Russia. Does android have a cache of nearby satellites (similar to how QuickGPS works with windows mobile phones), and could it be that these satellite location are optimized for Russia? If not, is it an inherent problem with Android 1.6? As I use my gps quite often, hopefully someone can provide some insight, or I might just be driving an infinite loop of circles in the near future...
Anyone know where the moments wallpaper gallery images are stored? I can't find em on the SDCard. I'm also trying to add my own custom images that I've put on the card and every time I set them as my wallpaper they seem soooo zoomed in? I've tried resizing them from 1600 to like 480xwhatever and I still get the same results.

I love stock one because of its looks and functionality, but it has a seriously hard time loading any images that are even remotely large, let alone displaying thumbnails for them. It just gives up on many images that it should be able to load.Alternatively, a way to make the stock one run better and load all of my images would be greatly appreciated, too.

It displays my camera images and Picasa albums all on one nifty tilty display!Last night I loaded 9Gb of music, and this morning when I went to my Gallery all I see are album covers for the first several screens. View 9 Replies View Relatedi have been trying to figure out how to use an image for my wallpaper, but the crop box comes up over it everytime, and it forces me to crop the picture , which makes it fuzzy and incomplete. this also happens when adding an image to a contact. HELP? I have tried stretching the crop box as far as it will go, but that is only 50%at best. i also have tried NOT tapping anything on the screen other than save but it still crops it.

View 9 Replies View RelatedI have a few apps on my phone that allow me to choose a photo and then do something with it, e.g. editing. When I try to choose a photo, I used to get two options: 1) choose from Dropbox and 2) choose from Gallery. But at one point, I chose a photo from the Gallery and also checked the "default" checkbox. Since then, whenever I try to choose a photo, I don't see the two options anymore, it always takes me directly to the Gallery.
When I checked the "default" checkbox, I had assumed that there must have been a setting somewhere that would allow me to undo what I've done so that the Gallery would no longer be the default option and when choosing a photo, I would still get to see two options: Dropbox and Gallery. But I searched all the places I could think of and still couldn't find such setting. Where such setting is?
The phone I use is Samsung Galaxy S4 and the OS version is Android 4.2.2.
Im wondering if there is a built-in automatic (time based) wallpaper changer for the Samsung Galaxy S or a 3rd party app that manages that for andriod ?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm doing it by going to chrome>google>images>wallpaper>save image>gallery>set as. But problem is it always seems to be low quality when I do it that way. The wallpapers aren't low quality it's 1920x1200. When I open them in images it always appears small, so I think I'm actually saving that small image.
View 7 Replies View RelatedSince I updated to Froyo when the official one was released for the UK my Gallery has been almost useless, it now sorts photos based on where they were taken which I don't want and it doesn't show any new photos/videos I take, possibly because the phone saves them to the external SD card now instead of the internal one. Is there anyway to fix this? I've looked everywhere for some gallery settings but I can't find anything, to change the sorting etc.. Or can anyone recommend a half decent gallery app? I just want something that shows the recent photos I've taken...
View 2 Replies View RelatedI want to be able to pull in google plus photos when using photoshop touch and autostitch apps etc. But their import options only access local folders on my device. I can download individual photos one at a time to a generic download folder from google plus to use, not full albums. When I try to create a new folder in gallery, and move the Picasa/Google Plus photos I get a notice saying "unsupported file." I read somewhere that there should be an option in gallery that makes photos available offline, but I don't have that. Just basically trying to be able to organize and download my g+ photos for use with these apps, in a less time consuming way.

Just a quick question about making pictures from the gallery your wallpaper? Is there any way to get it to use the whole picture. as it stands, whenever I try to use a picture for my wallpaper, it makes me crop the picture, and no matter what I do, the crop box never lets me use the whole picture, its like there's a size limit or something.
