My Captivate wont go past the Galaxy S logo screen anymore and the bottom buttons stay lit. I can get it into recovery mode but I would like to save some pics and vids that I have on the internal SD card. Anyway to save files before I Odin flash this thing? Droid explorer sees the phone but wont show the paths/files.

its is Soft Brick right now
i can tell its a soft brick because i can still access the Recovery Mode
my main problem is all the Stock ROM updates can't be read by my phone
I SOFT BRICKED my lg e730 while trying to install HarshGinger v3.
I tried to root my phone, and everything was ok until I tried to install the rom. I saw in recovery how the rom was installing, and when all was completed the phone entered into a boot loop. I think that I should install first a stable cyanogen mod and then harshginger.. I think this is what I done wrong. The phone it`s soft bricked because I can reach to the emergency mode screen.
Question: I can do a reboot from ADB or I have to use KDZ? KDZ looks like the type of program used by the smart people and I`m not really that smart. I am looking for a simpler solution, like a combination of buttons or something.
My Samsung galaxy s2's screen reciently got smashed, nothing comes up but I believe the rest of the system works. Now when I connect to my computer it just charges. So I was wondering if there is any way to retrieve my contacts, internet favorites, pictures, and memos without replacing the screen.
View 4 Replies View RelatedI've been scouring the internet for the last view months since initially attempted to root my admittedly out of date htc view. A friend gave it to me in exchange for an old comp I built. I attempted through revolutionary to root, went through HTC and unlocked my device, continued to try and root it but found no proper software that worked to do so. Even tried something called mulitool which was pretty cool, but didn't get the job done. After a time I gave up on rooting, and my tablet powered down and I found myself stuck at the recovery screen. None of the options for clear storage, factory reset, or anything else proved fruitful. I removed my sd and was able to boot up fine. This was months ago. Now I'm having a similar problem only now even without SD card it's in a boot cycle where it boots to recovery for 30 seconds or so and shuts down, then back to recovery and like this ad infintum.

i installed flyrom v4 in ma htc explorer through clockworkmod... When i tried to reboot it stucks in the htc splash screen..Still not coming to home screen. And i partitioned ma sd card ext2 using minitool and i linked it thru link2sd... But it doesnt mount in clockworkmod... But flyrom instaled perfectly...

I saw there was a windows installer on cm website..but wanted to make a backup of my current rom..
i rooted my phone using kingo android root..installed rom manager..flashed latest clockworkmod recovery..
but on booting into recovery,i found stock recovery was being forced..i read somewhere it was because of unlocked bootloader..
on cyanogenmod wiki page,i found installation of clockworkmod recov using heimdall..everything went fine ...blue progress bar was shown in the download mode...and when i rebooted into recovery mode i saw the first danger sign..there was a yellow triangle beneath galaxy note logo..
and then it booted into clockworkmod recovery 5.8..Foolishly i did a system backup..rebooted...surprised to find phone went into black screen after displaying a note logo with yellow triangle beneath..tried recovery from clockworkmod without hope but that didnt work as expected...
All i need now is to install cyanogenmod 10.1.3 stable on my device..i dont want a custom rom backup anymore..'
I have no problem sending a file from my computer to my phone via bluetooth. However I cant seem to figure out how to send files from my phone to my computer. I tried using bluetooth file transfer from the app market but its not working.

View 1 Replies View RelatedMy Device was using L900SPTBMK4 and I want to do a restore. Kies doesn't recognize it when in Download mode, does it when is on the loopboot but never finished the connection, stuck a connecting.
In odin the device isn't recognized when in download mode either, as Kies, it recognize the device when stuck a the bootloop. I don't to if is safe to try a flashing in this mode.
Using ODIN v3.09
Autoreboot checked
F. reset Time checked
I don't remember what download mode I suppose to choose from BL/AP/CP
I also have this file L900VPUBMK4_L900SPTBMK4_HOME.tar.md5 to try the flashing if recommended.
Looking to speed up my Samsung Captivate a bit. Seems like every since I loaded it up with some music and movies that it is slower. Any truth in that? Considering getting an SD card to hopefully help with that but not sure if it is just my imagination. Anything else for performance tweaking would be great too.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI bought my Captivate and am a Android convert from Iphone and many Windows Mobile devices. So far I like the phone and the app store however am annoyed I can't get outside android programs to load.I have seen the sticky on this but am leery to attempt it.In the meantime I have some questions.
1. Is there a regular way most people use to move their movie files over to this phone? I tried doubleTwist, however I have selected just one folder and it grabs everything in all media folders and I have deselected looking at Windows Media Player and Itunes so this is causing me much frustration. Is there an easier way?
2.I just realized that the phone doesn't utilize an alarm clock feature. I know this is very minor, I am assuming there is an app for that.
3.Any advice an a good ebook reader for this phone?
I know I have more, but I'll stop here for now. The syncing part is just driving me nuts!
My Android phone is soft bricked it is an VS870 LG 4G Lite Lucid II.
This is the second time my phone becomes bricked due to my last incident with my samsung. It has nothing to do with it being rooted, but uninstalled some apps in the phone which I thought had nothing to do with the system. IDK last one I uninstalled was zappos. I know how to un-brick my phone, but my only problem is getting the phone to be recognized by my computer. I tried uninstalling and re-installing the drivers, removing the battery from the phone, using different USB ports still no luck . Could it be that the battery percentage went below 75%? if so I have no way else to charge, it does not seem to charge anymore?
First off, I love the Captivate. I just recently swapped it out with the HTC Aria, and haven't looked back since. However, I do miss certain aspects of HTC's Sense UI...
Anyways, my main concern with this phone is the 4 Soft Keys below the Samsung logo. I will address my issues/concerns/questions in the following list:
--How bright are your soft keys when backlit? (In comparison to other Captivates or other Android devices)
--Mine seem to have a slight yellow/brownish tint to them. Anybody have pure white, or anything different?
--The Home button: is your roof slightly different sizes when comparing the left to right. (Yes, I am aware this is nit-picky. not worried or bothered, just curious)
--Finally, my responsiveness on any of the 4 buttons is spotty at times. Especially once pressed when they are no longer lit. Have many others experienced this, and if so, which button(s) in particular give you trouble?
I hate soft keys. They're hard to see. It's hard to know whether I pressed them. I often press them accidentally. They add absolutely nothing to the phone. In short, soft keys suck.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an Allwinner A10 clone (Kurio 7), it is designed for kids but otherwise a standard android tablet. After hours of googling I rooted and installed CWM & Gapps (not included in the stock ROM). So far so good. The stock ROM was causing issues with some apps, it needed to go.
I flashed CM10 and it worked but no touch screen. It needed a compatibility flash to make it work. You can guess what's coming. I picked the wrong one and now the device does the following:
Reboot loop
Black screen (backlight though)
PWR+Vol up no longer gets to recovery
Vibrates constantly between reboots (due to wrong patch I'm guessing)
ADB picks up the device for a split second between reboots but "adb reboot recovery" does nothing. Even when using wait command. Tried "fastboot flash recovery cwm.img" after wait command, no luck. Is there anything else I can try?
I'm in Canada and my service provider is Rogers, however I bought the phone in Hong Kong. At first, I rooted my Galaxy S i9000 so I can remove the stock apps, but I couldn't seem to unroot it so I flashed the firmware. At first it said "failed" so I had to reboot it back into download mode to start the flashing again. I forgot to put on the back cover during the flash and the battery fell out. Now when I turn on my Galaxy S, it stays on the welcome screen where it says "Galaxy S GT-I9000 Samsung" and does not do anything. Is my phone bricked and what can I do to fix it?
View 1 Replies View RelatedAfter several attempts trying to apply Lag Fix, my phone ended up doing endless boot loops and due to my ROMs being on the SD Card instead of Internal SD, I could not flash it and seem to not have access to somehow get the ROM file from External to Internal SD. I then tried to restore the Stock ROM through Odin and it failed miserably, with several stalls that eventually led to the screen shown below. This screen stays on when I press the power button and nothing else seems to work. Removing SIM and SD Cards also did nothing.Phone is still under warranty and I have insurance, but not sure if I can claim warranty in its current state.

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm able to get AC3 5.1 @ 640kbs to work with my 720p mkv files but the playback skips about every 5 seconds. Other then that It looks and sounds amazing! I've tried encoded to 5.1 FLAC and AAC but it doesn't play at all. Are there any encoding experts out there?

I had problems with my PC (Vista) recognizing the phone but now it seems to be working but I don't know if I should just drag and drop my music files to the droid or if I need to use a program to sync it. I have media money but it doesn't seem to be syncing up with my phone. I also would like to know if there is an app that would work better then the AT&T music player which I have read sucks.
