I have no problem sending a file from my computer to my phone via bluetooth. However I cant seem to figure out how to send files from my phone to my computer. I tried using bluetooth file transfer from the app market but its not working.

Has anyone managed to send files via bluetooth on the Desire? I'm able to receive without any issues, but cannot get a file sent to a macbook or Nokia mobile. I'm trying Bluetooth File Transfer, Explorer and Astro to do so and nothing seems to happen.

My evo wont do anything once paired to my computer via bluetooth. i paired it successfully, then later i wanted to send a file from my phone to my computer via bluetooth, (i have ftp enabled) and told my computer to expect a file and nothing. it doesn't work. also when i check the pairing profile on my computer, under services it is COMPLETELY blank, there should be some services like dial-up modem and bluetooth speakers and stuff shouldn't there be?
here is what i want to be able to do.
1. i want to send files from my EVO to my computer via Astro Bluetooth.
2. i would also like to use my laptop speakers via bluetooth, example, play Pandora on my phone using my laptop speakers via bluetooth connection

I just recently switched from a Window Mobile phone to the Captivate and I am loving it thus far. Aside from the standard gripes about gps i have nothing to complain.
I am however having trouble comprehending how google syncs my contacts. I have my contacts set up exactly how i want them on my google account online i.e. co workers freinds family grouping. I would like my phone to display the contacts in the same fashion, but it seems the google sync is only one way from my phone to my account and not the other way around.
How can i get my contacts to sync from my google account so that they show up as i have them set up online without having to do every individual one on the phone.
When I plug in my phone through USB it wont show up on my computer. Whats going on?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI was running the JI6 2.2 with cognition beta5.5 and was attempting to update however I needed to swap kernels since the current kernel didn't verify signatures. I was using vmware on a mac and i started it but then continued to use the mac side however the computer disconnected the phone from the windows side and now it is stuck showing an image of a phone next to a computer with a triangle with a ! in it between the two. Pressing all hardware buttons does nothing but black the screen and go back to the same screen. I've taken out the battery, sim, unplugged the cord, everything. Can't get back into download mode to redo the kernal swap. It's definitely connected to a valid, and working, usb port and i am now on windows itself instead of vmware. What do I do?

And my second question, my phone doesnt connect to my computer right. I plugged it in, it said it didnt have the right software or something, so i went and downloaded the the Vista 64 bit thing thats stickied on here. I plug it in, and the "you have the wrong software" thing was gone, but nothing else happpened. The screen says its connected and it vibrates and i hear the noise thru the computer, so what am i doing wrong. I read somewhere that you pull down the little bar at the top and hit dock or something like that. I cant do that. If i can pull it down theres no buttons to hit. Can someone walk me thru this process? FIXED

I have created Java RMI programs with a server and multiple clients, so I have a grasp of the concept. However with android I'm just not sure where to start.

View 3 Replies View RelatedSo I just got off a half hour conversation with AT&T and We cant figure out for the life of the phone, why MMS messages cannot be sent. Although, when they did send me a small AT&T logo I did receive it. And When I sent that to myself, it did send and I received it again. I then took out my SIM and put it in my BlackBerry 9700 and MMS sent find and received fine. Any size picture. I then took a picture with the camera on the Captive in Fine, Normal and Super Fine. And each picture I tried to send to myself. Each said Compressing picture and when I go to send it, it stays on sending. That guy got so fed up he told me to Google it lol. So I did, and I see some others are having the same issue.

So far I like the phone and the app store however am annoyed I can't get outside android programs to load.I have seen the sticky on this but am leery to attempt it.In the meantime I have some questions.
1. Is there a regular way most people use to move their movie files over to this phone? I tried doubleTwist, however I have selected just one folder and it grabs everything in all media folders and I have deselected looking at Windows Media Player and Itunes so this is causing me much frustration. Is there an easier way?
2.I just realized that the phone doesn't utilize an alarm clock feature. I know this is very minor, I am assuming there is an app for that.
3.Any advice an a good ebook reader for this phone?

Also, recently (as in today). My phone has been sending messages to other people, randomly. I got a phone call from my mother but it popped up as a totally different number.
I have a Plantronics Voyager 510 (LOVE IT!!) and I can only seem to get the phone to send calls through to it. I installed HTC sync manager on my computer, but when i try to connect with the phone it says some bull**** on the phone like "make sure you have installed the application on the computer and that it is open" I have installed it and it is open!!! View 3 Replies View RelatedI'm going to post this here first as this may be Galaxy S specific. I have handcent installed and love it. It's been working great. However tonight when I went to test out sending a picture to my girlfriends phone she received two copies of it. It shows up on my screen as me sending one, but on hers as if i did it twice in a row. What I suspect is that Handcent is sending one and the default messaging app is sending the other. When I open up either of them they both show the thread and show 1 picture sent. I've looked through all the menus in both apps and can't figure out what the problem is.
