Samsung Captivate : Add Mp4 Files Via All Share?

Aug 10, 2010I'm able to get AC3 5.1 @ 640kbs to work with my 720p mkv files but the playback skips about every 5 seconds. Other then that It looks and sounds amazing! I've tried encoded to 5.1 FLAC and AAC but it doesn't play at all. Are there any encoding experts out there?

I had problems with my PC (Vista) recognizing the phone but now it seems to be working but I don't know if I should just drag and drop my music files to the droid or if I need to use a program to sync it. I have media money but it doesn't seem to be syncing up with my phone. I also would like to know if there is an app that would work better then the AT&T music player which I have read sucks.

I've loaded some R rated movies (Wedding Crashers, Superbad, etc) which contain adult content.I notice that the movies are accessible from the Camera and Gallery apps. I let my kids play games and take pics and dont want them to be able to access these so easily.Are my only options to remove the movies or not let them use my phone?

Nov 9, 2010I have a samsung captivate. I am using the gmail app for 2 accounts, one work google apps account with its own customized url and one personal with a gmail extension. I have downloaded officesuite, quickoffice and thinkfree apps that supposedly help open office files. no luck. I have opened pdfs.I get lots of xls and ppt a day which i have to view. In the gmail app inbox view, all that happens is i can click the preview button for the attachment at the bottom of the email. there is no download button. When i get the preview button pressed, it gives me the circle of death spinning round and round saying "fetching attachment" and nothing happens, i hit the home key to end the fiasco.in my personal account it is working. In the google apps act, the wheel of death.

Jul 27, 2010How can i put music from zune onto my phone? CDs that I ripped with media player work fine but whatever I ripped with zune I can't figure out how to put on there.
I haven't actually used my zune in years but I got used to the player on the computer so that's what I continue to use. I know theres an easier way than re-ripping everything but I have been toying with deleting the zune stuff anyway and just putting my most listened to music back on the computer to free up space but am not 100% sure I want to do that.

Nov 10, 2010I thought I finally got the hang of syncing my Captivate with media player library. Most of my music on my phone's stock player has been synced to my sd card is showing as unsupported files. I even have tracks from one album showing unsupported while the other 10 work fine. All are mp3 files. What am I doing wrong? I imported my itunes library or at least I thought I did. Can someone please explain to me step by step how to get my itunes files to media player and then to my Capitvate sd card? I'm about to pull my hair out after working on it for over 4 hours. I really don't understand all the technical terms most forum users are throwing about.

It's annoying that when I download ringtones on my Captivate, it puts them right into my music files so that when I'm listening to music, the ringtones pop up and play every once in awhile. Aug 10, 2010So I plugged my new Captivate into my PC (Windows 7 64-bit) and the Captivate says it's connected, but the PC shows no signs of it being connected. I called SAmsung support, and from what I could understand of what the "tech" told me, this is a bug, and there's no way for a PC to recognize the Captivate unless there's a memory card installed. is this correct? Once a 16GB memory card is installed, do you have 64-GB of storage space you can use for music, etc?
This seems like a mammoth problem - do they have any timeframe for a fix for this? Or is the "tech" incorrect? I can't believe I just bought a brand new "Smartphone" to replace my old mobile phone and MP3 player, and I can't copy files to it. Help!
Should Samsung Kies be selected as the USB setting? That's the default.

Aug 18, 2010I've searched all over the forums and can't find anyone else who is having this problem. I am able to set my captivate to "media player" under the USB settings and Windows Media Player is able to see it. I move files into the sync list and start to sync. It all works perfectly until, for whatever reason with no consistency, WMP freezes. I've concluded it's because the Captivate stops responding but I can't find a solution. The music files are not a problem since they are already condensed in mp3 format. But I need a solution for syncing pictures. Double Twist ignores the original folders and lumps every picture into one folder called "Images", so that's pointless.

Jul 19, 2010I bought my Captivate and am a Android convert from Iphone and many Windows Mobile devices. So far I like the phone and the app store however am annoyed I can't get outside android programs to load.I have seen the sticky on this but am leery to attempt it.In the meantime I have some questions.
1. Is there a regular way most people use to move their movie files over to this phone? I tried doubleTwist, however I have selected just one folder and it grabs everything in all media folders and I have deselected looking at Windows Media Player and Itunes so this is causing me much frustration. Is there an easier way?
2.I just realized that the phone doesn't utilize an alarm clock feature. I know this is very minor, I am assuming there is an app for that.
3.Any advice an a good ebook reader for this phone?
I know I have more, but I'll stop here for now. The syncing part is just driving me nuts!
