well had the nexus for a few days and its now gone weird. i was scrolling in the market and it started jerking and selecting things different from where am pressing, then just returns to home screen. anyone had that?

So twice in the past two days, the screen isn't registering where I'm tapping on it. Last night, when I was trying to pick the middle right lower icon, it kept opening the menu. When I clicked the lower right icon, it would click the dot for the next window. It was seeming to register about a half inch lower on the screen than where I was actually pressing.
Another thing that was happening was when scrolling, it would click on things instead of scroll. I was in the Appmarket and scrolling through apps when it would click on one and then start installing. This was very frustrating although I was lucky none of the apps that installed were paid apps.
Its working fine now this morning but its a bit disconcerting. Has anyone been able to do a screen reset or reconfigure the touch?

Next time your screen starts acting crazy, immediately put the phone in the refrigerator WITHOUT turning off the screen or resetting. Also notice the temp of the phone when you do this.Wait 3-5 minutes.Remove phone, and try typing something again Problem solved! (at least for me), until the phone gets warm again. I just re-created this 10 times in a row.This would explain why the problem really flares up when plugged into a charger/dock, or when using the phone for a while. Seems the heat from the phone is screwing with the touchscreen.Try this experiment and post the results!
I'm trying to set up a tasker profile that will save some time (and my phones hardware...).
In a nutshell: When using a particular app, I would like the screen to turn off after a short period of time, but (and here's the bit I can't figure out) allow it to be unlocked just by touching the screen (i.e. no hardware button presses required). Is this possible with Tasker?
It's great that Android 2.1 supports multiple Gmail accounts, but so far, I've found that it's not possible to select which one to use when sending a message from another app, such as Contacts or Gallery. What is particularly annoying is that, when doing this, it seems to automatically use whichever Gmail account I was viewing last. Am I missing something, or is this just a missing feature in Android?
View 2 Replies View RelatedI snatch this pic from the web and want to use it as a background. But since its a rather close up shot, when applying to wallpaper we are forced with this crop thingy. Its sucks cause it will not let me select the entire picture which results in a zoomed in image on the background instead of a zoomed out entire pic.
Is there a way around this? I tried making the pic smaller but when it hits the N1 the cropping portion is the same.
Just a quick question about the Captivate. I just got myself an HTC Aria and I love how easy it is to use the touch screen on it. Its extremely responsive. Now my sister has the SamSung Instinct on Sprint and the touch screen is horrible compared to HTCs touch on the Aria. Im thinking about taking the HTC back to AT&T and getting the Samsung Captivate. I am just worried about the touch screen on it and if it will be like the Instincts? If the touch is as good as HTCs Ill get it. If its not, then Ill stick with the Aria because despite its size, its an extremely fun and responsive phone. Any thoughts?

Sometimes when you put it down it goes onto desk clock or weather. ~Presume it does not has a shake to change screen facility or anything.Maybe its just me, the screen is very sensitive.It's just done it again, picked it up and it moved off the HTC scene onto weather.

I hold the phone in my right hand and tend to use my right thumb for scrolling, selecting on the screen and pushing the buttons at the bottom. I have developed a persistent stabbing pain over the nobly bit on the right side of my wrist which gets worse after I have been using the phone for a while. Was wondering if you can mute the ringer quickly. Say, if the phone is ringing and you know you don't want to answer it. Or you forgot to turn off the ringer in church or something. Is there a way to just mute the ringer WITHOUT sending the caller to voice mail immediately (by pressing ignore)..

I now use a skin on my phone which doesn't allow for easy access to this power button so I'm wondering if there's an app that I can use to lock my phone screen without having to press the power button. I have looked at "lock 2.0", however, it seems to be more for actually unlocking the screen.

View 1 Replies View RelatedWhenever I press the home button when Im in the root task of my application and when I click on the icon of my app again the state of my task (activity) is retained, but when i press the back button on the emulator and when I open my application its state is not retained. I want the state to be retained in both the scenarios.
In the mnifest I have given the below entries,
android:alwaysRetainTaskState="true" for the root activity
android:launchMode="singleTask" for the application
So when I get texts, gmail, completed app downloads, etc I get notification icons at the top as usual. When I slide the notification bar down to reveal the nofications and click on an item, the notification screen doesn't hide back to the top of my phone -- it just stays open. I either have to hide it manually or I have to hit the back button, which sometimes exits the app I was trying to open. 2.1 never did this for me, it always hid when choosing an item. Anyone have a solution to this? I've done a factory reset after 2.2 btw. I've also searched support to see if there was a similar problem, no similar threads.
View 2 Replies View RelatedSuper happy with the Nexus One just minor issue is that on occasion - and not sure what triggers it - but the touch location seems to end being below where i actually touch on the screen, which of course causes erratic typing and erroneous screen clicks. A quick cycle of the sleep/power button (not turning unit off, just sleep/blank and back on.) seems to solve the problem.Hopefully an update will resolve this issue, as it seems to be a software issue.
So there's the multitouch issue with the Nexus One and HTC Desire. Is there some documentation on what other devices have this hardware error and what the total market share is? If you had a game idea that needs massive multitouch gestures, would you go for it on Android or would it currently be a waste of time with only a few devices supporting it?
View 3 Replies View RelatedI have been trying to get my rooted Galaxy Nexus to load the CWM Touch recovery image, and I just can't seem to get it to stick. I originally just tried to install the basic non-touch version from Rom Manager. When it rebooted, I got the red ! and a dead robot. So I booted into fast boot, and flashed the touch recovery. After flashing if I go straight to recovery, I do get the CWM recovery and can backup. My problem is that if I the reboot the phone, I can never get back to it again. I always end up at the red ! and a dead robot.
I read on another thread to rename the file "/recovery-from-boot.p" to "recovery-from-boot.p-bak" and that it might require reflashing the image. I moved this file and re-named it, reflashed, booted into android. Then powered off and booted into recover mode, just to see the red ! again.
It seems that when I first flash I can go into it, but anytime after that it just dies. I could probably just go ahead and flash a new image to the phone but I don't feel good doing that while the recovery image seems to need re-imaging every time.
Just got back from my hols where I used my (stock) N1 camera a lot. Got some great pics but a few certainly highlighted just how important touch-to-focus is to me. Was quickly reading a review of the Desire and read it has touch-to-focus. Was just wondering if anyone who is actually running the modaco desire ROM on their N1 can confirm whether this works? I'd also be interested to know if I could just use the desire camera app on a rooted N1 with Cynanogen? I'm rather partial to the stock appearance and not massively inclined towards Sense UI.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI bought a new droid for $20 haha lucky i think until i notice that the touch screen only works for the middle of the screen to the left so if yu cut the screen into thirds only the middle and left work assuming that yu cut it from top to bottom with the lights at the bottom for the home button etc. I opened it up cleaned all the flex cable with alcohol and waited for it to dry and it still does the same thing so my question is = do i need a new digitizer or is it a software problem or something that i dont even know?
