For some reason today my phone wont load web pages or facebook app while im on my home wifi. I have never had any wifi problems before this. Actually the only problem I have had is sending and receiving picture messages. Anyone know what may cause this? The phone says its connected and full strength signal also.

A few days ago I was using my schools wifi with no issue (its unsecured)
Now I can connect to the wifi but pages will simply not open (try again later or whatever the generic error message is)
I reset everything I could find still nothing.
I have a problem with the wifi... its able to connect to my router but im not able to use the internet. web pages wont load, ebuddy wont connect, fring wont connect, android market wont load. the wifi internet was working before and now its not. currently my laptop is connected via wifi and its confirmed I can browse websites and chat through aim. 3G network works fine but I want to save battery life when I'm at home.
View 5 Replies View RelatedHowever my phone will connect to my wifi at home no problems, it automatically switches when it's in range, but after about 20-30 minutes it stops working (pages won't load etc or get an error message saying I need to be connected) and when I go into wifi in settings it says 'authenticating' instead of connected. It doesn't change back if left you have to turn it off and back on and then it works fine for 20-30 minutes and back to the same problem again. I have never had a problem with the internet connection and there is no interuption to it or anything.
View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is really pissing me off. I turned my phone off and now when I turned it back on it stays in the bootload android screen. If I press the cube button it goes to cube and then I'm able to navigate around to internet and other media features but it refuses to load up the home screen. Is there anything I can do without having to do a hard reset. I don't want to reload all my apps over again.

It recognizes the network but I can't use send/receive any data. My two laptops have no problem connecting to my network but I can't get my phone to. Additionally, my Wii has the same problem. It recognizes the network but can't do anything. Its probably a router problem but their support was useless, so I thought I would try here.

I walked in the house with my Captivate and it can't obtain an IP address. The password is right. It gets to "Obtaining IP address" but then it says "Unsuccessful." I have never ever had a device issue connecting to my wifi. Numerous family/friend phones have connected without a glitch. Any ideas?

View 1 Replies View RelatedI was looking at the Captivate and the iphone4 in store today and when comparing the same web pages in full page view the text on the Captivate was much smaller than the iphone4, even though the iphone screen is smaller. Zoom just made everything bigger so it wasn't in full page anymore. Is there a way to make the text bigger while in full page view? On a side note, that iphone4 screen is super sharp for text and the whites were much whiter vs the blueish tint on the Captivate.
View 8 Replies View RelatedWeb pages seem to load very slowly on my N1, when not using wifi. I use an orange SIM card that I got with my old nokia N82, which was a 3g phone. I always struggled with internet speeds with that phone too. I do get the "G" and the arrows below it flashing away as suggest 3g is working. Maybe I expect too much, but Jesus it can be frustrating!

But starting yesterday, any effort to call up a webpage, either using the browser or using the bookmarks on one of my home screens, fails. The page tries to load but then the phone just jumps back to the bookmarks home, or the home screen. Any ideas?

It just shows the padlock and nothing else.
The default browser loads SSL pages when connected via Wi-Fi.
Opera browser load SSL pages both via the mobile network and Wi-Fi.
I tried resseting to default in the browser but it didnt help.
I find it really odd.
If I uninstall the browser, can I reinstall it from market (I didnt see it there).?

Therefore, the web developer has provided me with a custom Bouncy Castle Keystore file (custom.bks) and I'm want to load this bks file onto my device, thus allowing my app to communicate with that webserver. long time reader, first time poster here. i just came from the HTC incredible where the browser was super fast.. and for some reason it seems extremely slow on the X, i am literally waiting and counting Mississippi's for the pages to load.. does anyone out there have the same problem? and if so.. what is the solution.

After played with it for a couple hours, I still can't figure out how to set customized ring tones. All I see in settings is the preloaded ring tones. My question is : How do I load my own ring tones and use them? Do i just create a ring tone folder and what should i do from there? Or there are other ways.

I really like LPB but am not liking how long it's taking to load. View 1 Replies View RelatedI've had my Captivate since day one and i love it the only thing that bugs me is that if i have a pic taking portrait anytime i send it or upload to facebook it automatically changes it to landscape view and the same when recieving pics i go in and manually edit the pics so when i go to my gallery it shows them in portrait but anytime i try and send it never fails goes straight back to lanscap anyone else have this prob?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't know if this was already posted and I am sorry if it was, but I would just like to show people how to sideload apps NOT using root and in very simple words.
1. Download Droid Explorer for your system. (de - Release: Droid Explorer 0.8.7.0 Beta)
2. Now, go to your phone. Settings> Applications> Development > USB Debugging.
3. Make sure you downloaded the drivers for the captivate then plug in your phone and select PC connect and mount the phone.
4. Now open Droid Explorer and connect the device. Right click and select batch install.
5. Now a screen should pop up and you should select the APKs you would like to install and it is self explanatory from there on out.
That should do it, sorry if this was posted somewhere else or something but I kind of figured this out on my own even though I am not a very techy guy.
I rooted my captivate thinking that i could install apps that are blocked on my phone, like Sirius XM, WiFI tethering.....even after rooting the programs are still being blocked and i cant install them. am i missing something? im new to android and had an iphone that i jail broke. im confused on what rooting actually.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI've been trying several browsers and only Miren browser had the feature I need. I mean then I loaded pages stays loaded until I close the tabs/browser manualy.
All the other browsers keeps reloading pages then I don't need them to reload. For example - open some website, go to other app, then turn off mobile network and wifi, then go back to internet browser and it's only blank page (or an error page).
Recently I have flashed ICS ROM and now Miren browser FC sometimes.. I guess it's because of Miren browser is no longer supported and some ICS incompatabilities or ROM problems..
So any other browser which doesn't reload pages when apps being switched back and forth? Or way to keep all browser loaded tabs (in cache(?)) so it don't need to reload so much?
