I have a Vodafone prepaid sim and live in bangalore.I got the sim recharged for rs 95 for the unlimited GPRS pack.The phone shows the "E" EDGE symbol but when i open the browser the pages dont load. Please give me the APN settings which will work.

When Im connected via the mobile network, the default browser wont load pages with SSL (secure pages).
It just shows the padlock and nothing else.
The default browser loads SSL pages when connected via Wi-Fi.
Opera browser load SSL pages both via the mobile network and Wi-Fi.
I tried resseting to default in the browser but it didnt help.
I find it really odd.
If I uninstall the browser, can I reinstall it from market (I didnt see it there).?
Is there a browser in which I can change proxy settings? I downloaded opera Mini but can't see an option to change proxy settings
I want to do it only via the ohone's settings, not having to browse i and change major code each time I want to switch off and on.
ALSO - can I change proxy settings for the Market?

Can one use an Android phone to access basically local (think intranet for example) web servers to view pages? I ask this question because some cell phones with some phone network appear to use a special server to funnel cell phone requests thru and that the server offloads from the browser part of what a browser normally does. I get the impression that the Opera mobile browser works this way.I want to talk to local devices that serve web pages and connect directly to them from phones. Does the Chrome browser in Android have the full functionality that Chrome has on a PC? Can it parse HTML, do XMLHttpRequest, and otherwise act like a modern browser?

View 8 Replies View Relatedmy phone is actually new i never used it and it was shipped to me with version 1.5 with android, then i saw that there is a 2.0 version of mustymod & drakaz witch i wanted to install and try all those new functions. The first version worked great without of course the camer the wifi and so on that there were not working with this first version, then i made something very stupid and format the SD CARD and since then i cant boot/start my phone. When i try to start it it only shows "Samsung Galaxy" and nothing else.So my question is what i can do to fix this? really need help (im a niewbie)
View 4 Replies View RelatedI just heard recently about a friend who was using wifi on his iphone. Somehow it got disconnected, and without him knowing, it automatically connected to GPRS, and the data tariffs cost him a fortune. Apparently, it's something about 'default APN' on iphones.
I was just wondering, is there something similar for us? Perhaps I should post in the support section, but since I use galaxo, I thought maybe asking here would be more helpful. Also, I heard about APNdroid, anyone have any insight there?
Just installed Galaxo 1.6.3.4, everything works great, except that gprs/edge capabilities seem to be switched off? They used to work before the root. I can use wifi, but cannot get any data traffic outside wifi areas.

Now I can connect to the wifi but pages will simply not open (try again later or whatever the generic error message is)
I reset everything I could find still nothing.
Is there a setting anywhere in the browser (Either default or on Dolphin) which would keep the browser from opening up a new tab every time I try to open the browser? It gets very annoying closing 30 tabs a day. 90% of which are the home page.

1. when I plug in my headphones and then unplug it, it would start randomly playing music through the speakers.
2. dial pads dont vibrate even though it is set to vibrate in the options.
3. instead of showing my providers name it shows 302320
anyone else having the same problems? btw I already reinstalled it and it didn't help.
I recently got a new SIM card (same provider, Telkomsel, but for a different area code in Indonesia). The settings are supposed to be automatic, and I do indeed have a "Telkomsel GPRS" under "Mobile networks" > "Access Point Names". The 3G on the old SIM worked pretty well, without having to do anything, but this one gets only rare and short-lived connections to the net. I've rung up Telkomsel a few times now, and they're supposed to be fixing it soon, but it's a few days and I'm getting impatient. One of the help line people suggested manually entering a new access point, but the info he gave me was a bit confusing.

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have galaxo 1.6.3.1. after playing around with the launcher (replaced AdvancedLauncher with Helix for donut) i now experience some troubles with the dialer - its extremely slow: when i press the dial button i takes about 5 seconds to load. if i click the Contacts tab it takes around 3-5 seconds.
I tried clearing the dial application's data (thus removing all my contacts and my call log), but its still slow.
Offcourse there's always the solution of reapplying update.zip but i want to avoid it
I just tried to load the GalaxoSense Theme to Galaxo 1.6.1, and now my phone won't boot. I'm in the process of flashing with Odin, and I'll let you know how that goes, but what is the proper procedure for applying a theme?

View 2 Replies View RelatedWeb pages seem to load very slowly on my N1, when not using wifi. I use an orange SIM card that I got with my old nokia N82, which was a 3g phone. I always struggled with internet speeds with that phone too. I do get the "G" and the arrows below it flashing away as suggest 3g is working. Maybe I expect too much, but Jesus it can be frustrating!

But starting yesterday, any effort to call up a webpage, either using the browser or using the bookmarks on one of my home screens, fails. View 1 Replies View RelatedHowever my phone will connect to my wifi at home no problems, it automatically switches when it's in range, but after about 20-30 minutes it stops working (pages won't load etc or get an error message saying I need to be connected) and when I go into wifi in settings it says 'authenticating' instead of connected. It doesn't change back if left you have to turn it off and back on and then it works fine for 20-30 minutes and back to the same problem again. I have never had a problem with the internet connection and there is no interuption to it or anything.

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have an issue with BT on my Galaxy, it somehow gets stuck and forgets the settings:
- If I go out of range with my BT headset, and than back in range, sometimes a single click on headset button will make it reconnect with the phone, as it should.
- But, sometimes it will not reconnect (even by manually reconnecting from the phone WirelessBluetooth menu), and also it cannot "Scan for devices" - a click on that will not do anything, the phone does not scan for other devices, even though BT seems to be on.
- If I restart BT at this point, it will forget its "Device name" and say "Galaxy" in that field. Also cannot search for devices.
- If I restart it again, the "Device name" will be "No name set, using account name"; scanning will not work. Further BT restarts keep it in this state, only restart of the phone helps.
I'm on JB2 firmware.
Seeing as the Galaxy seems t have problems with sleeping and some apps, I thought it would be a good idea to ask here what program people are using for their settings profiles.
