I get this when I try to load from Apk manager. I'm rooted and I have an older version of Market Access installed. I have Busy Box and SU installed. I'm not sure what the issue is.

I've written an app that has to communicate with a webserver. The server won't allow my app to communicate with it without a certificate. Therefore, the web developer has provided me with a custom Bouncy Castle Keystore file (custom.bks) and I'm want to load this bks file onto my device, thus allowing my app to communicate with that webserver. I've tried saving the .bks file to the sd card, then installing from there but no progress...

After played with it for a couple hours, I still can't figure out how to set customized ring tones. All I see in settings is the preloaded ring tones. My question is : How do I load my own ring tones and use them? Do i just create a ring tone folder and what should i do from there? Or there are other ways.

I've had my Captivate since day one and i love it the only thing that bugs me is that if i have a pic taking portrait anytime i send it or upload to facebook it automatically changes it to landscape view and the same when recieving pics i go in and manually edit the pics so when i go to my gallery it shows them in portrait but anytime i try and send it never fails goes straight back to lanscap anyone else have this prob?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI don't know if this was already posted and I am sorry if it was, but I would just like to show people how to sideload apps NOT using root and in very simple words.
1. Download Droid Explorer for your system. (de - Release: Droid Explorer 0.8.7.0 Beta)
2. Now, go to your phone. Settings> Applications> Development > USB Debugging.
3. Make sure you downloaded the drivers for the captivate then plug in your phone and select PC connect and mount the phone.
4. Now open Droid Explorer and connect the device. Right click and select batch install.
5. Now a screen should pop up and you should select the APKs you would like to install and it is self explanatory from there on out.
That should do it, sorry if this was posted somewhere else or something but I kind of figured this out on my own even though I am not a very techy guy.
I'm at the point where i just rooted my captivate. I was wondering, before I went any further, how do I back up this copy of my phones current state. I installed ROM manager, I'm not sure how to back up though.. someone help please?

The program claims to work on un-rooted phones (though mine is rooted).My girlfriend's Captivate is not rooted though so I will test this out on her phone as well to confirm it. Check it out though. I've already gone to town with this and it works great.

Every thing I read says hold down the volume up volume down and power keys. I can't quite find the right mojo to get it going. Is there some sort of secret sequence you need to user to get it to recovery manager?

Some of the the apps that start again have not been run by me in days but just show up on the Tasks List. Why would an app come on if I did not run it?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI was installing some apps from the market last night and all was going well until one application got stuck. The Market shows it as installing but nothing is happening. The Market still seems to function to load other apps but I have tried pulling the battery, cleaning the cache etc and no matter what I do when I go back to the downloads page the install on this app is still in progress. The Captivate is not rooted and I am not really keen on a hard reset as I have lots of apps and data. Any ideas from you pros out there?

Hers says it is version 1714, mine says 2002012.I couldn't find any thing on the web other than there are a few android phones, non samsung, that are also stuck at 1714, and that 2012 is the latest version.

Some apps tells you the stuff they are adding or improving but most don't. On some you can click on the developer's page n they will tell you. I removed GoogleTalk which seems to be the route of the issue and now I can't seem to get it back. Also, ever since then I get the following error message upon booting: "The process com.google.process.gapps has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again. dumpstate_app_201008021101_com_google_process_gapp s.log has been saved. Use *#9900# to copy out log." View 10 Replies View RelatedMy gmail app suddenly stopped working. i have background and auto sync on. contacts and calendar syncing without any issue. mail is the only problem. i uninstalled ADW launcher which i updated right before this problem and all related apps for that launcher from the phone. i rebooted the phone (several methods including holding down power and volume buttons down, power off and battery out) but the problem still persists. I am unable to see the gmail app in the android marketplace from my phone. Otherwise, i will uninstall the one in my phone and reinstall the same. Another crazy thing is..when i open manage applications under settings, i dont see gmail app there. i have to app on my tray but not found in the applications list.what is going on?
