I updated my Droid Maxx to 4.4. The change I first noticed is that the home key takes you back to the home screen instead of just leaving an app and returning to the screen I was originly on. This is definitly new. Is there a way to turn it off?

I just installed lock 2.0 and i was just adjusting the settings and now every time I'm in my phone and i touch the "Home" button it locks my phone instead of taking me back to my home screen! Is this normal? Did I accidental do it in the settings? HELP its driving me crazy
I'm on the new 2.1 leak if that matters
Whenever I am using any app and press the home button, the home screen blacks out for a few secs and it takes around 10 sec to get all the icons back and before I can start using my phone again. I am using a non rooted mytouch 3g.
This problem does not happen if I exit an app by pressing the back button. It becomes very annoying at times.
Is there a way to set the which of the home screens the phone goes to when you hit the home button?

I run stock froyo and sense, and I keep up with as many updates as possible. Is there a patch for this that anyone knows of?

Now when I click on GDE and click the home button, it switches back to the stock Home screen. How to I switch the settings now to set the GDE app as the new home screen?
View 15 Replies View RelatedI have been running the v3 leak and after the last update, the home button (after pressing it) will return the screen back to the same screen I was just on. The speaker is on all the time, until I turn it off. The next time I use the phone, the speaker is back on. Any suggestions? I have done several hard resets with no luck. The problem started right after the update, then went away after a couple of days and now is back.

1. the Home button won't work, it vibrates but does nothing when pressed
2. I have no unlock screen, when i press the power button it just brings me right to where i left off.
3. My ringtones were all set to silent
4. when i hold the power button the only option i have now is to turn the screen off.
My phone was working just fine and randomly the lock button stopped working and the home button brings up the power screen!

View 2 Replies View RelatedI have been working on a replacement for the stock Car Home app for a bit, and I am completely stumped on how to override the Home button so that my app will be brought back to the foreground whenever the phone is docked. This is the way that Car Home works, so there must be a way. It seems that BroadcastReceivers won't work, because the intent that is broadcast whenever the Home button is pressed will still cause the default homescreen app to launch; I cannot prevent it. I can override the Home button from within my app, but that does me no good since this needs to work when the user is outside my app. Car Home also does not do anything weird like set itself as the default homescreen app while it's running (I checked the logcat to make sure).
I've been really beating my head against the wall on this. Does anyone have any ideas, or can you at least point me in the right direction?
When your on the home screen and hold down the Menu button it doesn't open the keyboard.

When I press the home button (middle one) I get a prompt to select to 'Complete Action using Home or Timescape' This is quite annoying. I want the default action to be Home (not Timescape) but despite ticking the box in the prompt it still pops up this box.

View 11 Replies View RelatedSo I have had my Evo for about 2 weeks, and all of a sudden when I am in an app, then hit the home button, I am presented with a blank home screen for sometimes up to 15 seconds then all of my widgets and icons appear. It is actually quite annoying now that it is doing this almost every other time I go back to the home screen. However, recently, hitting the home screen button brings up a dialog asking whether I want to use SenseUI or the stock Android launcher. I'm aware this normally happens if you go into applications and clear the defaults for SenseUI.
However, I haven't done this. Moreover, even when I tell it to "save" the default for SenseUI when the dialog comes up, it seems to "forget" it after some time and asks for it again.
I have just got my hero back from RMA with a new screen. (the old one was fubar). But now the back button is bringing me the homescreen. And not the last screen. So if I browse my settings, and go 4 screens in. I want the back button to bring me to screen 3 (like it used to), and not to the home screen.

Seven is really pointless for me, it makes finding the right screen take a little longer and there's just not enough good quality widgets that I need to use. I could do better with 5 and possibly just 3.Second is that when I'm not on a homescreen and I hit the home button, I'd like it to go back to the LAST homescreen I was on, not the center one. And if I'm already on a homescreen, once again pull up the homescreen select menu, instead of going to the center homescreen. It's a waste of a button press to always go to that center screen when pressing the home button.

When I use the back button to get to the home screen it does no do this.
This is more of an annoyance, but whenever I reply to a message off the home screen widget, it automatically defaults to the home number for that contact, instead of replying to the same (cell) number that it was sent from. If I go into the messaging app, it works as it should (replies to the same number).

Having to press the power button up top is just an inconvenience.
