Samsung Captivate :: Backlight For Control Keys
Jul 26, 2010Is there some sort of tweak to extend the amount of time the control keys at the bottom of my Captivate stay backlit? I hate guessing in low or no light conditions.

Oct 20, 2010One gripe I have that I have been unable to fix (I looked through the forums a bit) is about the 4 touch-sensitive home buttons at the bottom. The backlight fades out after only a few seconds. Is it possible to edit the amount of time the backlight stays on for?

Nov 16, 2010I have had my Captivate for a couple of weeks now and love it except for one major issue. I keep dropping calls -- The back light comes on randomly and then my chin hits the end call button or other keys and I lose the call. I have had no success figuring out how to disable the backscreen from coming on during a call or if there is another solution that would work. I do not want to return the phone. Can anyone think of a solution?

Jan 12, 2010Does anyone elses keys (keyboard, home button, menu, etc) not light up sometimes? For me the problem would fix itself after opening and closing the hard keyboard a couple of times. But after I downloaded SweeterHome preview 2 they won't light up at all. Is there a timeout option im missing or something? Or is this a common problem with no fix?

Aug 5, 2010I'm on my 2nd captivate and both of these bugs have happened on both phones.
First being the backlight remaining on unless I lock the phone manually. This will happen even with the backlight auto turn off set to 30 seconds. This has happened a handful of times, and I can make the backlight turn off if I want by using the lock key, but it will never auto turn off. This is fixed by power cycling the phone.
Second, my notification volume. I've noticed a few times that I'll have a text or something waiting on my phone for which I didn't hear the notification tone. When I go to the phones settings I find that the notification volume is down around 25% instead of the 75% or so I keep it set at. This seems to happen randomly.

Nov 3, 2010A backlight used to turn on for the bottom hard press keys on my dx but ever since I downloaded and installed the live wallpaper panoplied, they don't turn on anymore. I don't know how or even why a live wallpaper would turn off backlight settings for the keys but its becoming a major inconvenience. I checked the settings but couldn't find where to tweak backlight settings. I also rebooted the phone and did a soft reset but that didn't work. Can anyone out there help a brother out?

Jul 24, 2010Is there any app/hack/widget to keep the backlights on the bottom buttons on just as long as the screen is backlit? So annoying how quickly they go off. Equally as annoying is how quickly the screen goes to sleep after you get a text. It literally stays on for 2 seconds, so I have to press the power button then slide/unlock to get to my text. Needs to be an option to keep it on for longer (10 seconds).

Sep 11, 2010First off, I love the Captivate. I just recently swapped it out with the HTC Aria, and haven't looked back since. However, I do miss certain aspects of HTC's Sense UI...
Anyways, my main concern with this phone is the 4 Soft Keys below the Samsung logo. I will address my issues/concerns/questions in the following list:
--How bright are your soft keys when backlit? (In comparison to other Captivates or other Android devices)
--Mine seem to have a slight yellow/brownish tint to them. Anybody have pure white, or anything different?
--The Home button: is your roof slightly different sizes when comparing the left to right. (Yes, I am aware this is nit-picky. not worried or bothered, just curious)
--Finally, my responsiveness on any of the 4 buttons is spotty at times. Especially once pressed when they are no longer lit. Have many others experienced this, and if so, which button(s) in particular give you trouble?
Samsung Captivate :: Keep My Home / Navigation Keys Backlit?
Oct 26, 2010I've searched for an answer to this but so far nada so I'm asking. Is there a way to manage or keep the home keys lit while the screen is on? On my new captivate the turn off very quickly. They do light up after I've pressed one but I'd like to be able to hit the key first off.

The hardware is for automotive use, so that is because he doesn't have the common buttons of a cell phone. So I am thinking about create a second virtual keyboard that is called by this available button, to show these buttons that are missing on hardware. I want to know if it is possible to do. When I open the Netflix app with the keyboard I cannot use the arrow keys to navigate the app. I tired the Tablet Remote app, but it has the same results. I thought of maybe trying TeamViewer on phone and tablet, but thought there might be a better solution.
Is there a way to remotely use the Netflix app on my tablet so I can use it on my TV?
Samsung Fascinate :: Backlight Won't Stay Off?
Nov 18, 2010I've had my Fascinate for a few weeks and just tonight out of the blue, no matter what timeout interval I have my backlight to shut off at, it goes blank and a few seconds later turns itself back on. Then keeps cycling on and off indefinitely. This happens whether or not it's charging.I'm not rooted, and the only things I installed today were Pulse news reader and Nose Candy. I've since uninstalled both and the problem persists. Any help? Obviously this can't stay, or else my battery will die within a couple hours, even when not in use.
