I have just released my first game to the android market called "Helicopter Game". I am having trouble detecting if users are experiencing any problems with the app because few people are posting comments. I would appreciate if anyone could try the game and let me know how it is.

I'm making a few updates to my app called "Email Me." It's already on the market, but I want to make sure the changes I'm making to the pro version work before I push them out. The app is very simple...it just creates a pre-populated email to send to yourself (or whomever is set up in the configuration). I updated the app to allow you to use custom icons for the home screen shortcuts, but I also cleaned up the code a bit and I want to make sure nothing got messed up as a result.

I read in the comments for my app G-MoN, that it crashes on the droid. It runs perfectly on my Milestone. So the differences in gsm and cdma version might be the problem. I modifed the attached G-MoN version to run also on cdma phones. Please try it. If there are still crashes, please send me a logcat copy if possible. G-MoN is a wardriving scanner.

I'm bedroom developer and I'm finishing my first android game, Flee, which (hopefully) will be released in the coming weeks. I'm a bit scared to release it into the wild, cause I have only tested it in two different phone models (Samsung Spica, Motorola Milestone), and wouldn't like to receive a lot bad rating because of an elusive bug in the most popular phone. In exchange I offer myself to beta-test your apps/games, and if I find a proper way (because the market does not allow gifts right now), I'll give a free copy of the paid game to the testers. View 6 Replies View RelatedI really want a free wifi tether, from what I have read barnacle is very good, and keeps AT&T from seeing that I'm tethering. Here is my journey thus far:
1. search barnacle on app market: no results
2. download double twist, search for barnacle, find it, scan the barcode. It recognizes it as barnacle. Sweet. I press the button to continue to app market, market opens, says "can't download that" or "error" or something.
3. Find the barnacle apk. online, download it to my computer, connect my captivate to my computer, throw the apk. file onto the captivate. Sweet! Now I have the apk. file on my phone at long last................

In case visitors are wondering, this won't get your phone updated. It may help find a method later, though
Binary cache files were found in /data/data/com.wssyncmldm that specify various URIs related to T-Mobile's management system and firmware OTA updates. There is also a file 'fota_delta_dp' (~40MB) which I assume is the update file. I haven't had a chance to analyze it yet but it is not a zip file.The URIs can only be accessed from within T-Mobile's wireless network.
After not being able to get "android wifi tether" to work with my iPad, I downloaded Barnacle from the market and it is working flawlessly. Didn't see many threads mentioning this app for root users. It looks pretty robust and pulling about 2gbs and 400kb up. Will update post with any problems or other remarks. Anyone else using this?

No matter what I do I can't get it to broadcast. Any help would be appreciated. If someone else has barnacle running please tell me the settings and steps you used to get it running.
I have a rooted Motorola Droid running the Barnacle WiFi tether app which has been working great. The problem I am having is trying to use a VPN connection over the Barnacle Wifi. Is this even possible ? Or maybe possible with a different wifi tethering app? I have tried connecting to my VPN first with the Droid and then turning on the Barnacle Wifi Tether which doesnt work. Then I have tried starting up the Wifi Tether and then trying to connect the VPN from the Droid and also tried connecting to the VPN using my iPad connected to the barnacle wifi, with no luck.

View 4 Replies View RelatedAs the title, I downloaded barnacle about 2 weeks ago and could not get it working on my phone then visited the makers site on my laptop. Found a link on there to the settings needed to make it work on the X10 and here it is: Set LAN to athwlan0 Thats it! So if your rooted you can turn your X10 into a wifi hotspot and run what you want on it! 2 laptops and a PS3/Xbox? no problems. Let your poor friend who needs to use wifi to go online with their phone? No problem.
Apparently you can even let an ipad go online via the app and it is bloody fast I use a dongle for internet and although its on the same network as my phone the phone is lightening quick at sending data! Once connected it will show up as your only connected to a local network but it runs via an adhoc network so will only show a local connection. There are a few other minor connection details but you should find the answer with playing with it or just post on here and I will try to help.
I did search and install wifi tethering but for some reason it doesn't work so this is what I have and my question:
1. I installed wifi tethering. The app seems to work and it indicates my laptop connected. My laptop wifi icon indicated connected but I can't get any internet on explorer. Is there something I miss?
2. I also heard that install USB driver from this forum will do the trick but I can't get it to work? Do I have to install Kies on my laptop?
3. I have a paid version of PDAnet but can't set it up.
I have rooted my captivate and downloaded Barnacle, both the legacy and the beta version and both are discoverable from my laptop and ipod touch but none of them can actually connect, I went through all the settings and played around to no avail. I then tried "wireless tether" app which I can't seem to find in appbrain to link but the icon is the WiFi signal strength bar in green if that helps, the only thing this app does is say wi-fi tethering is on but the device doesn't show up at all. My question is are there ANY wifi tethering apps that are currently compatible with a rooted Captivate?

The wifi router/hot spot option is an additional $30 a month and I don't anticipate I will need the option often enough to justify the cost. When i try to search for barnacle wifi tether in the marketplace nothing shows up? Also internet nor marketplace work without wifi, texting does though. View 6 Replies View RelatedI recently was having trouble with the Wifi application on the Behold 2. If turned on it would scan, but would not see any of the available networks. If the wifi was turned on and the phone went to sleep, I could not wake the phone. I would have to take the battery out, restart the phone, and before the phone would go asleep again I would have to disable wifi. The problem could be related my earlier attempt to install the rooted version of 1.6 and barnacle wifi that I tried a couple of weeks back. Whatever I did that time failed and ended up restoring the phones settings. I noticed a couple of days ago the problem I described in the first paragraph. I also wanted to ODIN the rooted version again and see if I could get Barnacle Wifi to work -- which I did. During this process I had done a soft and a hard reset trying to get the wifi to work, but to no avail.
