My legend cant connect to the router at our home. It keeps asking for the password. When I type it en press connect it only gives a notion that it can't connect to the network. I have tried standing next to it or a couple of feet away but it doesn't work.

I have a Wi-Fi router D-Link Dir-615. My HTC Legend recognize the router but after enterring the key to unlock the connection, it fails to connect. 2 PC are connected and the HTC touch of my wife too, and all three work fine.
View 14 Replies View RelatedHow do I connect to my router at home? I assume its for the best to do when I am at home (better battery life, faster, etc.) but I can't get it to connect. I have a 2wire router and the only time I've ever used the wireless Internet is with my buddies xbox 360. All we had to do there is type in the number code that was on the bottom of the router. When I type this code in on the Droid X it looks for an IP address but is unsuccessful, even when I am sitting right next to it. Does anyone now how I can get this to work? I probably left out info you need to help me too, so if you need anything just ask.

The router and phones wifi works though because I have another pc connected through wifi and I went to mcdonalds and it managed to connect to their hotspot.
Ive tried 64bit wep, 128bit wep, wpa/wpa2, ive also tried it disabled along with the routers firewall disabled but nothing seems to work. My router is a Belkin F5D8636-4

View 4 Replies View RelatedI have a factory unlocked HTC Desire with the official 2.2 froyo firmware installed. When I turn on the wifi using the inbuilt HTC wifi widget, it takes about 10-15 seconds before the phone connects to my wifi router and the wifi icon is shown in the notification bar. I am using a Dlink dir-655 router. The settings that I have on the router are as follows:-
wireless mode: 802.11g only
encryption: wpa2 personal AES
mac filtering on (phone's mac address has been added to the list)
SSID is hidden
Other devices such as my laptop and nintendo wii connect to the wifi router within seconds.
I just got a htc hero today. When I first got home with it, I used the wifi to connect to my router. Now it says "unable to start wifi" Have I done something or do I have an issue with my phone?

I have it WPA encrypted but when I go to connect to it with my phone it shows the phone is seeing it as a WEP encryption. I tried manually changing it but it seems like that messes with it even more. I prefer not to change the encryption to WEP because of it's flaws and can easily be hacked. Maybe is there something I need to do to get my Droid to pick it up right?
View 1 Replies View RelatedThere appears to be an issue with my Hero-router WiFi connection. Has anyone had similar experiences or have any advice? My Hero can generally see my home wireless router and report a good signal, though the visibility can drop out (when my other devices are still happily connected). It can also see my neighbors' networks, so it isn't a range issue.
For the most part, the Hero just doesn't seem to want to connect. If I reboot the router it will connect briefly for a couple of secs. I've tried altering a few of the router broadcast settings, trying b-only/ g-only/ b+g, but this hasn't helped (n isn't available, but I understand the Hero to be g anyway). I haven't yet been to another WiFi area, to check if it will connect to other networks. My suspicion is it is a specific compatibility issue with my router (Zoom).
Is there a way to connect the Moment to a home wireless router? We just got our Moments Sunday and have really bad data reception inside the house. I couldn't set either of our emails up inside the house and when we do a search in an app it goes on until we stop it.

If I go to Wireless & Networks in the settings and click Wi-Fi settings, I see it shows my router there and says "not in range, remembered" initially, but as soon as that page comes up, it connects. View 4 Replies View RelatedI'm new to the forum and to Android. Last week I replaced my Palm Centro with the new AT&T Xperria X10. About a week before the new cell phone arrived, I replaced our old Netgear wireless router with a new Cisco-Linksys E2000 router. All was well, except my daughter's PC (XP Home) and my other daughter's laptop (Vista), could not connect to the router. Got the new X10, and it connected without any problem.
Then - trying to get the other two computers to connect, I changed the 801.b security from WAP2 Personal to WEP Shared (One of them has an old Linksys wireless adapter that won't allow anything but WEP). Then my daughters were both able to connect, but not the Xperia. I have tried everything I can think of - no success. I changed the router security mode to disabled, and I could not connect. I changed the Xperia to Static IP - no connection. I entered the password in both ASCII text and HEX, neither succeeded.
I have a Belkin N router. The hardware version is F5D8236-4 v2 (01). I for the life of me cannot get my EVO 4G to connect to my router. I normally use WPA2 for my encryption. At the suggestion of another member here I tried WPA, then WEP and then I finally shut off all encryption and just opened my network. Nothing worked. My EVO 4G just simply refuses to connect. As an experiment, I finally tried to connect to a friends 2Wire AT&T wireless router which was WEP encrypted and it worked the first try.

My laptop for instance gets 8-10 mbits or so, but my phone for some reason when I run a speed test, or even browse, I get speeds that are very Ev Do like, 1200ish kbits down, 700 up. I've been connected to wireless routers in other places and get 3500 kbits down and 900ish up, but I'm just curious as to why every other device on my wireless network is fast, yet my Hero is so slow connection wise? Its been this way since day 1, and my router is about 10 feet from my phone at all times, so its not a distance issue.
View 5 Replies View Relatedafter changing some router settings (like the number of the channel) my SGS2 on 4.0.3 ICS doesn't connect anymore. WiFi itself is working fine, except the AP of the router i changed. Deleting all AP information and reentering all WPA2 data will change nothing. In my eyes the phone is not forgetting AP data completely when you try to delete an AP entry.

The phone didn't have any problems with this before the update.

My Hero takes a long time to connect to my home wifi. I usually go in to the settings and hit "Scan" repeatedly before it connects. Sometimes it fails connect, and I have to go into Settings to try again. Is there a way/app to scan automatically or re-attempt to connect again? Maybe there's something I'm not thinking of?

When I rebooted & got to the set up screen(set up google account ect.) the wifi worked! so I hit the toggle,& turned it off to make sure the 3G worked. Ever since then I cannot connect to my home wifi.

It recognizes the network but I can't use send/receive any data. My two laptops have no problem connecting to my network but I can't get my phone to. Additionally, my Wii has the same problem. It recognizes the network but can't do anything. Its probably a router problem but their support was useless, so I thought I would try here.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIf I connect to my home WiFi, it works well. I'll go out of the house and come back a few hours later and the phone does not automatically connect to my home WiFi. If I go to settings, I can see it detects my home WiFi, but says "Connection unsuccessful, select to try again." When I select it, it connects and works fine. My problem is, I don't think I should have to physically select my WiFi network everytime I come home. Shouldn't it see it and connect automatically? What am I dong wrong? Do I have a setting turned on/off that should be different?

I have a mac address filter on my router and I put in the correct mac address of my Eris more than once as well and the security settings. I was able to connect my Nintendo DSi with no problem. So when I set up my wi-fi connection, it says it's not in range but remembered. At my job I was able to connect to the wi-fi with no problem. Could it be something with my router? Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or clues.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my XPERIA Mini X10 to Android 2.1 Since then it does not connect to wifi at home. It used to connect very well in the past (in Android 1.6). Interestingly it connects to wiki in my school network. At home, it scans, finds the network, says "connecting" and goes to "Disconnected" status. Setting static IP does not work, selecting Wifi network and Connect does not work.
