I re-flashed evil eris 4 today, & before I did I wiped data/factory then wiped dalvic. When I rebooted & got to the set up screen(set up google account ect.) the wifi worked! so I hit the toggle,& turned it off to make sure the 3G worked. Ever since then I cannot connect to my home wifi.

I know wi-fi has been mentioned but no one seems to really know. Is there anyone out there who knows why I cannot connect to my wi-fi at home? I have a mac address filter on my router and I put in the correct mac address of my Eris more than once as well and the security settings. I was able to connect my Nintendo DSi with no problem. So when I set up my wi-fi connection, it says it's not in range but remembered. At my job I was able to connect to the wi-fi with no problem. Could it be something with my router? Just wondering if anyone has any ideas or clues.

The phone didn't have any problems with this before the update.
Anyone had the same kind of problem, or anyone that has a smart fix for it?
My Hero takes a long time to connect to my home wifi. I usually go in to the settings and hit "Scan" repeatedly before it connects. Sometimes it fails connect, and I have to go into Settings to try again. Is there a way/app to scan automatically or re-attempt to connect again? Maybe there's something I'm not thinking of?

It recognizes the network but I can't use send/receive any data. My two laptops have no problem connecting to my network but I can't get my phone to. Additionally, my Wii has the same problem. It recognizes the network but can't do anything. Its probably a router problem but their support was useless, so I thought I would try here.

View 6 Replies View RelatedIf I connect to my home WiFi, it works well. I'll go out of the house and come back a few hours later and the phone does not automatically connect to my home WiFi. If I go to settings, I can see it detects my home WiFi, but says "Connection unsuccessful, select to try again." When I select it, it connects and works fine. My problem is, I don't think I should have to physically select my WiFi network everytime I come home. Shouldn't it see it and connect automatically? What am I dong wrong? Do I have a setting turned on/off that should be different?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI upgraded my XPERIA Mini X10 to Android 2.1 Since then it does not connect to wifi at home. It used to connect very well in the past (in Android 1.6). Interestingly it connects to wiki in my school network. At home, it scans, finds the network, says "connecting" and goes to "Disconnected" status. Setting static IP does not work, selecting Wifi network and Connect does not work.

I'll get the "WiFi Networks Available" toolbar notice, select my home network, but then nothing happens, and it doesn't connect. When my home network is listed under the WiFi setting menu, the radio signal Icon says it has solid signal strength, but still, after I hit "Connect" nothing happens. Thus, I get stuck using 3G when WiFi capabilities were one of my main attractions to the phone :S. Again, the WiFi was fully functional (Outlook Exchange included) until recently.
View 14 Replies View RelatedWe're a 3 HTC Droid household. 2 of the units haven't had a problem with WiFi, before or after the upgrade. The third unit was connecting fine before the upgrade, but since it's been having issues. It 'sees' the networks (one open, one protected), but when you try to connect to either, it flashes 'Connecting', then quietly returns to the screen, without actually connecting. The settings seem to be the same between the units (wifi enabled and non-airplane). I've rebooted the unit and the router, re-entered the SSID multiple times (although the open network doesn't work either) with no luck.

It works with everything else except the eris. my xbox 360, nintendo wii, macbook pro, and multiple windows computers all work fine. My itouch connects to it nd so do all my other friend's android phones. I know my wifi on my phone works because I can use it on any other network. It seems to me that the wifi driver (do phones have drivers) needs to be updated. Is this possible?

View 5 Replies View RelatedI'm having an issue with my wifi not connecting. I have to AP's in my house, on different channels. They work perfectly fine. I have the wifi toggle setting on the home screen that I usually press to toggle the wifi on/off. Recently, it hasn't been working after I disconnect from 3G and connect to wifi. It says the wifi is turned on, but it won't connect to either of the remembered APs. The only way to get it to automatically connect is to go to settings and view the list of APs. Only then will it connect to one of the two APs. This is really annoying, as it seemed to only start this recently and nothing has changed. My wifi sleep policy is never to turn off. It's a droid eris with 2.1 OTA. Ran a virus scan, nothing. Any ideas?
View 3 Replies View RelatedEver since flashing the 2.1 leaks (V1 and then V2), I have not been able to connect to my university's WPA2-enterprise wireless network. After I enter my login info (the network uses PEAP with MSCHAPv2, so it doesn't need any certificates), the phone connects as expected and gets a valid IP address, verifiable with netcfg. Before any traffic is allowed to pass to the outside world, however, the device connecting has to go to an authentication page in a browser. When I attempt to go to that page, I get an error titled "Data Connectivity Problem" that states "A secure connection could not be established" which only presents an option to acknowledge the error.
Since I can't load that authentication page, the network is entirely unusable. I did not encounter this problem with 1.5, but since I'm running the V2 leak, reverting is not an option.Has anyone else seen this type of behavior? I can't identify if the problem is in the actual link not being established properly (seems unlikely, as the phone is given an IP address, but perhaps the PEAP layer is having some sort of issue?) or if it has to do with the SSL certificates used for the network authentication page (they're signed, but I'm fairly certain that the name if the site they're signed for is not the name that they've given the new auth server).
I have an Eris with Android v. 2.1 and a Belkin 54g router. The phone lists my home network in its list of of wifi networks. When I press the entry, an info box says that signal strength is good and security is open. (for the purpose of trying to have my phone connect). When I press "connect," it says "Obtaining IP address." Then after a couple of minutes, it says "Unsuccessful."
My phone has connected to other WiFi networks with no problem; indeed, it has done so automatically, with no effort on my part. My router assigns IP addresses via DHCP. It also broadcasts its SSID, which the phone recognizes.
Where is this from i noticed it when i got the app pandahome I have deleted the app but it still is there. So what is it . Is it from panda home and if so should I take it off and how.

Set up ad hoc wifi network on my Win7 laptop. Wifi Buddy app sees it, but the native Evo wifi app doesn't. I've seen that the HTC Magic has similar problems.

View 1 Replies View RelatedHow do I connect to my router at home? I assume its for the best to do when I am at home (better battery life, faster, etc.) but I can't get it to connect. I have a 2wire router and the only time I've ever used the wireless Internet is with my buddies xbox 360. All we had to do there is type in the number code that was on the bottom of the router. When I type this code in on the Droid X it looks for an IP address but is unsuccessful, even when I am sitting right next to it. Does anyone now how I can get this to work? I probably left out info you need to help me too, so if you need anything just ask.

I can easily connect to the wifi at my work when I type in the password, but when I try the WEP key at my house it still says disconnected. It shows my network and says "Remembered, secured with WEP" if I hit connect nothing happens. I tried "forget" and then connecting again, making sure my wep key is correct, and still no luck.
