HTC Hero :: Move SMS Messages Into Folder So That They No Longer Appear In 'inbox'?
Aug 16, 2009My Nokia N96 was great in terms of folder structures etc. I assumed that the Hero would have some way of moving SMS messages into folders (saved etc.) so that they no longer appear in your 'inbox'. Is there a way to do this?

Jul 17, 2010My accounts DO occasionally update by themselves, but it's not always spot on. Whenever I press the manual update button on the upper left hand corner, it doesn't seem to work whatsoever. (I send myself test e-mails and they don't show up when I press that button when they should).Any ideas how to fix this? Is this button not working for anyone else using IMAP? Did installing and uninstalling K9 mail maybe mess up the stock android e-mail app?

Mar 17, 2010I just got my Milestone from Telus here in Canada. When the phone powers up, two 'sliding' buttons appear. A green one on the left to unlock the phone, and another one on the right to silence it.
When holding the phone in one hand, the green unlock button is too low on the screen for a comfortable flick with the thumb. If it were on the upper third of the screen instead of the lower third, this would be much easier.
Any way to move it higher on the screen?

Nov 16, 2010so I just convinced my boss that we should switch from our costly Ms exchange solution to google apps, as it can do all the same stuff we need and more. We all have Android phones and I have set up my HTC Desire (Android 2.2 sense UI) to sync with my google apps account, no problem.However my boss have the Motorola Milestone, and his android version just won�t sync with his google account. Every time I try adding a google account with his mail address (name@ourdomain.dk), I just get a �no network connection� error. But I can browse internet and youtube just fine.I have searched the forums, and it seems other people can add their google apps accounts just fine, while some have problems.

Facebook, Messing, or Browseing the web, I miss incoming calls, the caller (WIFE and others) goes directly to my voice mail, I have checked to see it the check box in the contacts section is check or not (the one that tells the contact to go to VM), and it is UNCHECKED, yet calls still goto VM, the even go to VM after i am done surfen or Texting, is there some way to tell the phone or a check box that i can check to accept all incoming calls no mater what i am doing, i have even called CS to see if CALL FWDing got turned on some how, they told me nope!

HTC Incredible :: Controlling Mail Inbox
May 3, 2010I have gmail and my regular pop email set up on my Incredible. Well, almost set up. They seem to "grab" new mail automatically, instead of just when I want them to. I cannot seem to find settings for either app that allows me to control when and if new email is downloaded to the phone.

Sep 21, 2010I've had my phone for a month now (Vodafone in UK) and have pretty well mastered most things except my email.I set up the gmail account as required and access that via an app no problem. The main email account I set up to access my Messenger Live email account. This was a doddle as I just entered my address and password and it set up immediately. I should have known it wouldn't be that simple! It downloads and sends my mail just fine but after a few days all mail disappears so that I have no record of it's ever having been there. It's still all there on my Live account when I log in via my computer.
What am I doing wrong? I've checked every setting I can but no joy and no reference to this problem on any fora.Another clue may be that despite deleting emails I've received on my Wildfire they are still on my Live account as though nothing has happend. Sounds as though it's not syncing properly but what settings can I check?

I have some messages skip my gmail inbox (like facebook notifications or weekly coupons), so I have set labels to fix that! Keeps a clean inbox. BUT I want to still be notified of Facebook emails on my phone without having to specifically look for them. Say someone tags me in an unflattering picture, and I'm away from my laptop? I'd like to know right away! I have different needs for my phone and my laptop Does anyone else have these problems? Or...solutions?

Sep 1, 2010I'm running into some issues with the HTC Mail client and I'm about ready to throw fits.I've configured my work IMAP email account, but it's not pulling any emails down to the inbox.I get the 'No mail' message when there is most definitely mail there.I can send from the account just fine, and the sent items feed back to the server w/out any problems.I've tried deleting the account and reconfiguring same result.Any way to start from a clean slate in the HTC Mail client w/out wiping the entire unit? I have configured another user's phone (same exact phone) on the same email system and theirs worked as expected adding to the frustration!

Sep 28, 2010It randomly selects email, last time it was 1, this time 3. First poll, they disappear out of the inbox, next poll they show up as unread even though they're 2 weeks old. Leaving them as unread doesn't help, they still disappear, and come back as unread, but for some reason not on every poll. Tried to make friends with google, but all I find is other forum complaints that are similar but not exact, with no solutions. And Issue 719: Inbox shows old email. Anybody else going through this? It seems as though they're doing nothing to fix it.

Nov 10, 2009This is driving me nuts because I had the hero and swapped it out to the Moment and it did the same thing. I am using the Gmail app and whenever I get new mail I have to go into the ALL MAIL label to see it even though the mail has a Inbox tag on it. By doing this I don't get any notifications of new mail and must check it manually. I've tried clearing out Gmail app and Gmail storage but it will only sync once and stop again. So anyone having the same problem? Gmail not pushing mail into the in-box? I posted on Google help forums but so far people only told me to clear data of the applications.

Jan 27, 2010I have finally figured out why I don't always get a notification for new mails on my HTC Hero.
I have setup an Exchange account for the build in mail application that comes with the phone, and I want it to give me a notification when I receive a new e-mail.
This will however only happen if the mail ends up in the Inbox folder in my Exchange account.
I do not get any notification if I have a rule that moves the mail automatically to a sub folder in the Inbox.
I like to sort my mails using a folder for each sender and I use the rules in Outlook to do this automatically, but this prevents the notification feature in the HTC Hero mail application from working.
I can still refresh a folder in the phone mail program and download all received mails, but no notifications and I have to do this manually.
It seems to me that the Inbox folder is only folder to be updated automatically by the ActiveSync connection.
I have my Data Syncronization settings set to As Items Arrive.
So do any of you out there know how to get the mail program to download all new mails as they arrive and give a notification on the phone, not matter what folder the mail ends up in on the Echange server?

Apr 1, 2012I am relatively new to Android. Just got a Droid 4. As part of the setup, I added my gmail accounts. On the regular web interface, I have about 20 labels (folder) to archive the old messages. Then, I also had about 80 messages left in the inbox. Five days later, all of a sudden, I only have 1 message (a chat converted info a message 2 months ago) left in the inbox. Everything else in the inbox is gone. If I use the gmail app on the phone, that's what I see as well.
However, if I use the "mail" app on the phone, I am still seeing all the messages originally in the inbox. And the inbox is associated with my gmail account.
Now, comes the question: how can I restore all the email messages viewable by the "mail" app back into the inbox viewable by the "gmail" app, which is also the inbox in the web interface on my computer?
