I have some of my gmail email skip my inbox and go directly to labeled folders but on my blackberry it would still pick it up.On my hero now it skips the inbox and skips notifying me that I have a new email regardless of what folder it goes to.How do I make it so that I see all email in my gmail app and still keep my normal gmail set the way it is?

I couldn't find any incoming mail in the inbox after opening them. Does it mean that the inbox doesn't store the incoming mail or they are "hiding" in other folders? Please help me how to have the incoming mails back into the inbox folder.

View 4 Replies View RelatedThis is something I have wondered about Android OS/Hero/Sprint since day one of my purchase, but I have never brought it up here. When mobile network is off and WiFi is enabled, I cannot retrieve my Yahoo Mail. It has never really bothered me, because when mobile network is connected and WiFi is off, my mail app (which is connected to Yahoo - I don't use Gmail) worked perfectly fine. Does anybody else use Yahoo as their email server and has the same issue? Is it just Google sticking it to their customers and to Yahoo by saying "ok, if you wan't to use our (#1 competitor's) email service, then we will make it so it will only work on Mobile Networks.

There has been times when it shows 4 unread emails on the phone (even though everything is read) and when I log into gmail it shows the 4 unread emails even if it was ones I deleted. View 3 Replies View RelatedI have finally figured out why I don't always get a notification for new mails on my HTC Hero.
I have setup an Exchange account for the build in mail application that comes with the phone, and I want it to give me a notification when I receive a new e-mail.
This will however only happen if the mail ends up in the Inbox folder in my Exchange account.
I do not get any notification if I have a rule that moves the mail automatically to a sub folder in the Inbox.
I like to sort my mails using a folder for each sender and I use the rules in Outlook to do this automatically, but this prevents the notification feature in the HTC Hero mail application from working.
I can still refresh a folder in the phone mail program and download all received mails, but no notifications and I have to do this manually.
It seems to me that the Inbox folder is only folder to be updated automatically by the ActiveSync connection.
I have my Data Syncronization settings set to As Items Arrive.
So do any of you out there know how to get the mail program to download all new mails as they arrive and give a notification on the phone, not matter what folder the mail ends up in on the Echange server?
When deleting an email I'd like the view to return to the in-box rather than go to the next message. Anybody figure out how to do that? I've looked around and cant figure it out

View 42 Replies View RelatedI did some searching in the forums and could not find an answer to this. I realize it's not a major problem but it is something that is driving me nuts. This is my first Android phone and I just got it, was previously using WinMo. In my email I was able to set it so that when I was viewing an email and decided to delete it while viewing it, I would go directly back to the inbox but my Hero automatically goes to the next email on all accounts. How or can I change this?
Also, is there a way to set email so that I have a choice of which email I want to open by a list (similar to an account picker?)
That's right. I have my gmail account linked to the Mail app (not the Gmail app, just didnt like UI) and it has been working fine until today. Now, the app won't retrieve mail from my account. I am looking at my mail app, and dont see the new mail that I am seeing when viewing my in box on my computer. Yes, I have pressed menu>refresh, and yes I have tried rebooting.

I tried to setup a shortcut to "Mail Inbox" but that just comes up and askes me to choose a mail provider (MS Exchange/Pop), and as I'm not using these, doesn't seem to want to let me go any further.I know it's probably something stupid, so can anyone knock me in the right direction!

If I happen to be in front of the phone, I can see the screen change showing an incoming call.If I am listening to Pandora Radio, when the phone rings, Pandora stops, but the phone never rings.If I am not near or looking at the phone this results in missing the call.If I shut off the phone and re-boot it appears to ring fine, but at some point later in the day or week it will quit ringing.I normally never turn off the phone. Should I start to re-boot every day?

When I do this, the chooser comes up and gives all kinds of choices, for anything that can handle text/plain i assume, because there's stuff in there that doesn't support "e-mail". How can I make it so that it will only show applications that support email (gmail, mail, yahoo mail, etc...) and not stuff like "Bluetooth", "Facebook", etc...
I have gmail and my regular pop email set up on my Incredible. Well, almost set up. They seem to "grab" new mail automatically, instead of just when I want them to. I cannot seem to find settings for either app that allows me to control when and if new email is downloaded to the phone.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had my phone for a month now (Vodafone in UK) and have pretty well mastered most things except my email.I set up the gmail account as required and access that via an app no problem. The main email account I set up to access my Messenger Live email account. This was a doddle as I just entered my address and password and it set up immediately. I should have known it wouldn't be that simple! It downloads and sends my mail just fine but after a few days all mail disappears so that I have no record of it's ever having been there. It's still all there on my Live account when I log in via my computer.
What am I doing wrong? I've checked every setting I can but no joy and no reference to this problem on any fora.Another clue may be that despite deleting emails I've received on my Wildfire they are still on my Live account as though nothing has happend. Sounds as though it's not syncing properly but what settings can I check?
I have not gotten my picture mail since The 1st of the month.I have gotten like 4 total that have slipped through. I have called Sprint like 8 times and was told it was a known problem with the HTC Hero. I asked if it possibly had anything to do with the 2.1 upgrade.I was told absolutely not! On the 7th, one operator told me that the upgrade was coming out on the 9th.On the 9th, no upgrade.So I called and was told that it was coming, but unsure when, but still unrelated.Called again this Monday, still a known unrelated issue. I was offered a service credit if $35.00. Called today and spoke with Operator Pamela. She told me that it is a known problem and would be fixed with the 2.1 update.She said it was suppose to come out on the 9th but got pushed to the end of the month.Keep checking sprint.com/download.

I have some messages skip my gmail inbox (like facebook notifications or weekly coupons), so I have set labels to fix that! Keeps a clean inbox. BUT I want to still be notified of Facebook emails on my phone without having to specifically look for them. Say someone tags me in an unflattering picture, and I'm away from my laptop? View 6 Replies View RelatedI'm running into some issues with the HTC Mail client and I'm about ready to throw fits.I've configured my work IMAP email account, but it's not pulling any emails down to the inbox.I get the 'No mail' message when there is most definitely mail there.I can send from the account just fine, and the sent items feed back to the server w/out any problems.I've tried deleting the account and reconfiguring same result.Any way to start from a clean slate in the HTC Mail client w/out wiping the entire unit? I have configured another user's phone (same exact phone) on the same email system and theirs worked as expected adding to the frustration!
View 5 Replies View RelatedIt randomly selects email, last time it was 1, this time 3. First poll, they disappear out of the inbox, next poll they show up as unread even though they're 2 weeks old. Leaving them as unread doesn't help, they still disappear, and come back as unread, but for some reason not on every poll. Tried to make friends with google, but all I find is other forum complaints that are similar but not exact, with no solutions. And Issue 719: Inbox shows old email. Anybody else going through this? It seems as though they're doing nothing to fix it.

View 3 Replies View RelatedThis is driving me nuts because I had the hero and swapped it out to the Moment and it did the same thing. I am using the Gmail app and whenever I get new mail I have to go into the ALL MAIL label to see it even though the mail has a Inbox tag on it. By doing this I don't get any notifications of new mail and must check it manually. I've tried clearing out Gmail app and Gmail storage but it will only sync once and stop again. So anyone having the same problem? Gmail not pushing mail into the in-box? I posted on Google help forums but so far people only told me to clear data of the applications.

I have check my inbox online and yes there is new mail, but it is not showing up on my device.
