i would just like to ask on how can i get the messages on my email inbox folder and display it? similarly, how can I access gmail's inbox or other mail client's inbox folder? is this possible on android?

For some reason when I send a gmail from my HTC Desire, that sent email will show up in my pc mail client inbox when I retrieve mail from gmail later in the day. (It never shows up in my gmail inbox on the handset). Why is that? and how do I stop it from doing that?

View 3 Replies View RelatedGoogled this issue and can't seem to find the resolution. I am using the Gmail app which came pre-installed on the phone. I have entered my account details, I can send emails but I don't get a notification when I receive an email to my Gmail Inbox. I have checked the settings and I have setup a ringtone and selected the option to flag up an icon in the notification bar. However the only way I know I have an email is if I open the app. I have a task manager and Gmail is on the ignore list.

View 4 Replies View RelatedIn my Gmail app, I have messages showing up in my Inbox that are *no longer* in my actual Inbox.There are a couple of messages I have since deleted, or moved to another folder, or archived that are still showing up.I keep refreshing, and these 'ghost' messages still show up.Just to be clear, when I go to gmail.com in my browser, these messages are *not* in my Inbox.They are only showing up in my Gmail app Inbox.I'll take any suggestion that doesn't require me factory resetting my phone

If so, do you think you could investigate why many users (me included) continue to lose ALL email accounts at least once a week, and sometimes twice a day. it's basically an unusable application that can not be relied upon for anything. nice phones though. iphone never lost my email account settings.

My school uses an email system that's based off of Gmail with my address being example@fiu.edu. The calendar is also the same. Here's a link of what the log-in looks like:

Would this work seamlessly with the stock Android Gmail client?
I am relatively new to Android. Just got a Droid 4. As part of the setup, I added my gmail accounts. On the regular web interface, I have about 20 labels (folder) to archive the old messages. Then, I also had about 80 messages left in the inbox. Five days later, all of a sudden, I only have 1 message (a chat converted info a message 2 months ago) left in the inbox. Everything else in the inbox is gone. If I use the gmail app on the phone, that's what I see as well.
However, if I use the "mail" app on the phone, I am still seeing all the messages originally in the inbox. And the inbox is associated with my gmail account.
Now, comes the question: how can I restore all the email messages viewable by the "mail" app back into the inbox viewable by the "gmail" app, which is also the inbox in the web interface on my computer?
I am using the xperia X10 for a while now and have just set up my emails using the supplied email client. I am using an IMAP account. Howeverever since i have set up my emails i have not been able to receive any text messages through the stock messaging client or hancent sms. Does anyone have any ideas on how to resolve this issues.

However, the past couple of days, I have one email account that says there are new emails to display, but when I click on it, nothing appears in the Inbox. However, if I go to the Combined inbox, they are there. This email was working before a few days ago! I even deleted the email account and re-created it. Still no email displaying in the Inbox. I do receive a message saying something about server messages and Inbox not available, but I've looked everywhere to find any information on this (even googled it and checked the forums with no luck).

Has anyone noticed a difference in settings, functionality, or battery life by using the integrated Gmail client as compared to using the Other e-mail which uses an IMAP client??

Just curious, it's taking some serious getting used to this phone but I have a question about the messages box. Why is it that I have an separate icon for GMAIL, EMAIL , and MESSAGES? Why is Gmail separate from the "email" icon? and why can't I have my email and gmail as an icon in my messages box which currently houses the universal inbox, facebook, and twitter, and text messaging?

Does anyone else have the same problem? When I use the default email client from captivate, even when I set the checking period as every 10mins, I won't get new emails unless I open the app and manually refresh, well, except the one of gmail. This happens on my yahoo email, hotmail and my school email, which all worked fine on my old iphone. People have talked about yahoo mails won't be accessible through wifi from Android, which happens on mine too. But even when I was at 3G, the email client won't auto check it either. I have tried K9 email client, it doesn't work either. The only thing I find work is the MailDriod, but the function of this app is very limited, it won't even open attachments by default. Does anyone else here have the same problem, or maybe an idea to fix the default email client?Also, I find when I use the ear set make calls, when I try to click the button on the ear set, it won't hang up the call as my iphone would. Is this a bug or just something Andriod can't do? The button on the ear set seems quite useless with Captivate, it can only control to play or pause by single click when play music, won't do song change when doule click it.

View 1 Replies View RelatedI hoard emails, because I first got gmail when I had a mac which uses the mail client, so I just never deleted them.Anyway, this means that when I first synced my phone, I ended up with nearly 14,000 emails. They are all unread. Any ideas on how to fix this? I know you can adjust the gmail settings to only forward new emails to pop but I can't take off and re-sync my account.I'm on a motorola droid, in case that's necessary info.

This question may have been answered elsewhere however I cannot seem to find an answer that helps so far.Both accounts say that I have new email message in my Inbox, however when I go into the Inbox, there are no messages there. If I then select 'Mark all messages as read' it says:'Mark all messages in 'Inbox' as read? I have some messages skip my gmail inbox (like facebook notifications or weekly coupons), so I have set labels to fix that! Keeps a clean inbox. BUT I want to still be notified of Facebook emails on my phone without having to specifically look for them. Say someone tags me in an unflattering picture, and I'm away from my laptop? I had a very very very vitally important email sent to me yesterday, and after viewing it, it just vanished. Gone for good. I can't find it. I've checked every folder, I've checked All Mail, I've checked trash, I've checked spam, drafts, everywhere. This is the 3rd or 4th time I've had an email vanish in the past 3 months. I have a work account w outlook and I use k-9 on my phone for that. I know that google doesn't have folders, but labels. I created a label 'xyz' for all email coming from that google group. My question is, how do I not have all these items show in my inbox?
In outlook, I can set up a rule that all email coming from abc@xyz.com goes into the xyz folder, and doesn't clutter my inbox. How do I do this in gmail. I have all my email messages showing that they belong to xyz label, so my rule is working, but I want them not showing in my inbox.
