I thought 2.1 was supposed to come with a way to combine the inbox of all your email accounts into one in mail. Not seeing this... am I missing something or was this left out of 2.1?

I am having a very, very annoying problem that I hope someone smarter than me can help me with!
I have two email accounts setup under my Email on my Ally. So, when I select the Email button it takes me to a screen that has both of the accounts (which were working fine a couple days ago). The issue is happening on both accounts (one is yahoo and the other is my work outlook).
If I click on one of the accounts it takes me to the Inbox for that account. If I then subsequently select an email to read it takes me into that email. However, after a few seconds it automatically sends me back to the prior screen (Inbox for the account). Then, sometimes, it sends me back again to the Accounts selection screen.
I have changed the email refresh for both accounts to 5 minutes, so that should be long enough for me to read an email without it kicking me out of one. I turned on my wi-fi to connect to my home network yesterday, but have since turned off wi-fi (thinking that might have been the problem) and it is continuing to do the same thing.
On a side-note, if I open up my Gmail App (which is not an account in my Email app) it seems to work fine. I am at wits end so hopefully someone can give me some insight!
I am relatively new to Android. Just got a Droid 4. As part of the setup, I added my gmail accounts. On the regular web interface, I have about 20 labels (folder) to archive the old messages. Then, I also had about 80 messages left in the inbox. Five days later, all of a sudden, I only have 1 message (a chat converted info a message 2 months ago) left in the inbox. Everything else in the inbox is gone. If I use the gmail app on the phone, that's what I see as well.
However, if I use the "mail" app on the phone, I am still seeing all the messages originally in the inbox. And the inbox is associated with my gmail account.
Now, comes the question: how can I restore all the email messages viewable by the "mail" app back into the inbox viewable by the "gmail" app, which is also the inbox in the web interface on my computer?
I have multiple email accounts & would love to find an app that will act like Thunderbird. I want to check all the accounts and look at one Inbox and see all the mail that has come in with different labels. Is there an app that will do this out there?
View 36 Replies View RelatedI have two accounts on my phone, G-mail & Comacast, I swear I was able to have two different notification sounds for them, but I can't figure out how to do it. If I click on mail and open it up I go to menu Button>more>settings>notifications but all I can do is either turn the notification on or off. I can't set an individual sound for each email acct.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI am having some difficulties getting my emails. I have my Hotmail account linked to my phone. When I first got the phone, email came lickety split. I have downloaded 17 apps (or widgets, whichever you prefer). Now I don't get any email at all unless I refresh my inbox on my Eris. They have been up to a day old when I decide to try refreshing my inbox and, what do you know, they all pop up! My oh-so-famous "enable always-on mobile data" box is checked.
Is there any way to search for a program by typing in its name?
We have contracted out an Android app, and our clients are not happy. Can we do what we want? The scenario is an activity that lists data about an event, and a button to compose the email. That works. Except that it always uses the goggle account on the phone. Can email be sent in accounts other than the goggle account outside of the Mail app?

On the old phone I had all my email accounts, Exchange, Yahoo, Gmail, Hotmail.I could open the mail app and see all accounts as a list and then select which account to access the new email as it would show which accounts had new mail. On the Eris, when I get a new email notification, I have no idea which email account the new mail is for. I have to open mail, then touch to open the pull down of accounts and then check each one , one by one until I dig out the new email. Is there an easier way to see all new mail in an overview list of all accounts on the Eris? All in all loving the phone after 48 hours but the email use seems clunky and slows down my productivity.
I just got a Droid Eris on Monday. The girl helping me at Verizon programmed my personal g mail account in as she was doing the initial set up. Since then I have attempted to set up my business email account which uses the Google Business Account on my Eris. Thus far I have been unable to add my second email account. Can someone help me?

I use my BB for both business and pleasure, and would need to have at least 2 email accounts on the phone. Is this a possibility (I assume it is, but I just need some confirmation). Also, does anyone have any pros/cons that I should know about the Eris? I really hate my my storm at this point, and think I am ready to leave BB entirely. Would love some thoughts.

So far I have three email accounts including my gmail account on my eris. When I first setup my msn, and school email I was able to separate the accounts into two separate icons. Now that I have figured out how to add my yahoo account I would like to have a separate icon for this also but can't figure out how I did this the first time.

I would have my Yahoo set up as well, but for some reason it says my account info is wrong. Anyway, I get 1 notification for each of the email systems in the phone. 1 seems to be through HTC or a widget or something, 1 is the gmail app or whatever it's called. I've only had this phone for 3 days, and I love it. If it's any help, I'd like to only use the htc one as the keyboard seems more responsive as far as the auto-correction goes, and the layout is more simple and easier for me to read.

However, the past couple of days, I have one email account that says there are new emails to display, but when I click on it, nothing appears in the Inbox. However, if I go to the Combined inbox, they are there. This email was working before a few days ago! I even deleted the email account and re-created it. Still no email displaying in the Inbox. I do receive a message saying something about server messages and Inbox not available, but I've looked everywhere to find any information on this (even googled it and checked the forums with no luck).

I'm pretty sure I saw a thread about this before, but couldn't find it once I actually needed it. Anyways, I'm having trouble with getting my notification for my email to go away. It's not a problem with gmail, but the mail app. The notification disappears from the notification bar once I check my email, but the "1" stays in the icon for the mail app even after I've deleted it. I've checked all my folders, inbox, drafts, sent, etc. and there's nothing in any of them. Any fixing?

Whenever I press the manual update button on the upper left hand corner, it doesn't seem to work whatsoever. (I send myself test e-mails and they don't show up when I press that button when they should).Any ideas how to fix this? Is this button not working for anyone else using IMAP? Did installing and uninstalling K9 mail maybe mess up the stock android e-mail app?

I have two non-Gmail accounts set up using the stock email program: one Yahoo Mail and the other for my domain. The email account for my domain is set up as the default, so when I start a new email, it comes from that account. However, I can not figure out how to switch to the Yahoo Mail account to compose and send email without making the Yahoo Mail account the default account. There has to be some way to open your inbox or send a new message without switching which account is the default everytime, or at least I would think so.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just switched from the HTC eris to the Droid and had no issues with IMAP on the eris which is running 1.5 OS. What's happening is I setup my personal domain email as imap and all works. I mark all messages in the inbox as read. When new email comes in it marks the entire inbox as new. I've deleted the account multiple times and done a hard reset. I even tested this in the store on 2 phones.
Moto doesn't have an answer and I found this thread on the VZ forums Droid IMAP emails always Unread - Verizon | Forums and Blogs - Verizon Community which the OP is using the same hosting company as I am. I've never had a problem on a WinMo, BB or iPhone setting it up the same way. Something seems off but not sure what it is. I've setup GMail via the same mail app and that's working.
I'm wondering if anyone else has had their email accounts disappear? This has happened 3 times now. The first time was a few weeks ago after having the same accounts for months. The next time was a couple of weeks ago and then it happened again today. I checked my emails when I got to work, and then while I was sitting in a meeting, I picked up my phone to peek at emails and all 3 accounts were gone along with my corporate calendar account. I re-entered the accounts and it loads everything, but this is kind of annoying.
View 2 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else had an issue with the Droid completely eliminating email accounts? This has happened to me twice now and it's such a pain in the butt. I have one Exchange account for work and one Pop account (yahoo). Both times I've gone to access my email and the accounts were just gone (my gmail account however remained in tact). I have to go and add them in again and adding Yahoo as a Pop account is no picnic. Does anyone know how to prevent this from happening or if that's even possible?

View 3 Replies View RelatedI've had my Droid X for a week now. I'm coming from the Incredible. Both are great phones but I prefer the X. I have 3 email accounts setup on this phone. My corp account using the Corporate Sync and 2 personal accounts using IMAP. The Corporate Sync works fine but the IMAP accounts will only download email every few hours instead of every 15 minutes. If I reboot the phone, it will download new emails.
View 1 Replies View RelatedAll of our Droid's have lost the mail accounts at least once (when you go to email it shows the "new account wizard" - however, the old accounts still show in the "Sync" area. One of the devices seems to be doing it regularly. Wanted to see if anyone had advice with this issue, as I have heard other discussing the issue, but never seen resolution. Specific to the unit that has lost it several times. I factory reset the device last time to see if that would resolve it. It dropped it again not a week later. This unit is not rooted, and is at 2.0.1. The only other assumption I can make is possible problems with an APP?

I don't know for the life of me how to see all my accounts I have with the stock email app. I have two AOL accounts, but every time I open the app, only one account shows up. I try pressing "back" and it exits the program. I also tried seeing what I can do when I press the settings button (first left button).

I cannot seem to find settings for either app that allows me to control when and if new email is downloaded to the phone.
