Anyone have a moto droid that crashes daily? I did a *228 update 2 days ago and now my droid has crashed once each day. The kicker is that i havent even been using it as much! I picked up the phone today, open the web browser to google homepage, and the phone crashes. Yesterday it was nearly the same thing. I am not running any apps in the background other than what is already from the OS.

View 1 Replies View RelatedDoes anyone else find themselves having to power cycle their Droid on a daily basis?I'm still in the honeymoon phase so I do LOTS of stuff on it (add/remove apps, play with stuff, change settings, run lots of apps, etc.) which may have something do to with it.I find that if I don't power cycle my phone at least once in a 24 hour period, it starts getting very sluggish.

Things would start up fine with the turn by turn but every few minutes it would lock up. Is anyone else having this problem? Rebooting the phone didn't seem to help. View 10 Replies View Relateddid a search and didnt find anything relating to my issue.I installed a program (photofun) and i regret it. i tried it out with one pic and when i went to the gallery to view it, it would just force close when i would scroll.So i uninstalled the program but when i enter the gallery, pick a folder, and try to scroll, then it will force close. cannot scroll at all bcuz it will force close.

View 10 Replies View RelatedRunning BB.4 with flash beta 3 installed. Yesterday, running on the default 800Mhz kernel that comes in BB, flash ran ok. Today, I put Chevy 1Ghz ULV kernel on my droid, and flash keeps crashing. I went into SetCPU and throttled back to 800Mhz, and flash works again. I know Flash is still beta, so not sure what is going on.

However, if i switch to the favorites or contacts tabs at the top my phone will exit out of the dialer back to the home screen. I hope this is something that can be fixed over an update. Btw if i go directly to contacts from the home scrren it works fine.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an ongoing problem with my Droid that apps will crash if they are not used for a period of time. I've been dealing with it so far by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. This morning Google Voice started crashing and I was unable to make a call, so I uninstalled Google Voice, made the call I needed to make, and then reinstalled Voice. While going through the setup, the app crashes and force closes when attempting to sign in. This is not the only app I have problems with. The Amazon MP3 service force closes at random times, and it seems every app I install eventually has to be reinstalled because it starts force closing after a period of time. I do all the normal troubleshooting like clearing the cache and restarting the phone, and it usually doesn't fix it. Is this normal for this phone or do I have a bad one? It's really becoming an annoyance...

View 2 Replies View RelatedI'm running Eclipse Ganymede on Ubuntu 9.04. I wanted to update to the newest Android SDK 1.6r1 from 1.5r3. The procedure that I followed is:
- Run Eclipse - Update every Eclipse components from the update manager (this updated ADT to version 0.9.3) - Restart Eclipse (Everything works fine) - Untar the Android SDK 1.6r1 - In Eclipse preference->Android, I selected the newly uncompressed folder containing Android SDK 1.6r1 - Click on OK - Eclipse runs some tasks and crashes
After this, whenever I try to run Eclipse again it brings an empty windows on screen and does nothing else. Is there a way to come back to the old SDK without starting Eclipse, with config files for instance? Other suggestions?
Not sure what I did, but on powering up, I had trouble getting it to turn on. Maybe I double pressed the powere button after the power on had started, but as soon as the droid eyeball screen came up, all images on the screen were in negative. This continued through the home screen loading until I turned the phone off and restarted, getting normal colors.

After hearing about the crap Motorola pulled with the bootloader, I decided to wait on the ota update to Froyo until someone either figures a workaround, or they don't...to which I will update via the latest leak.
PROBLEM: After twice saying NOT to download this ota, I look down at my status bar and it shows something downloading at 10%...It's the syatem update!!!! I immediately pulled the battery, only to have the download continue upon restarting the phone. I am currently in Airplane mode waiting to hear if there is a way to KILL, CANCEL or STOP this download from installing!
I am on my third exchanged phone for a variety of reasons I have a 41/09 device that is repeatedly crashing whenever I try to compose an email with the native gmail app.I have duplicated it over and over again. There is a lot of debate as to whether these crashing phones are experiencing a hardware or a software problem.This seems like a software problem, and could be related to how the new 2.0 OS deals with memory, etc.I would like to think that an software update would fix it.There is no doubt that Verizon and Google are aware of the high number of phones that crash software.I bought my phone at Walmart, and they are about done with my replacement requests. My store and the next closest store who sells Verizon is out of the Droid.

I got my Droid on Friday, the day it came out. Was working fine. Today, about an hour ago, my droid reset itself. Then started back up. when I got to my home screen, it reset itself. When I got to the home screen again, very shortly (less than 10 seconds) it reset itself again! And repeated this over and over. It never stopped! I can not even use my Droid!
View 4 Replies View RelatedBuddy told me to put kangerade and chevy lv 1.2ghz on it. I'm not new to the root game and i've done it to a few eris phones. I got everything installed correctly two days ago but yesterday and today, the phone seems to soft boot every now and again for no particular reason. It doesn't go all the way to the mas a hard boot would, but it goes to the droid logo and reboots from there. I'm running the newest version of Kangerade with chevy 1.2ghz low voltage kernel.
View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently when I use the stock/default music player, when I try to pause or stop it, it keeps playing. If I press the hard home key, it will go to the home screen but the music will keep playing even if I press pause. If I am still in the music player app and press the back button, it goes to a black screen and keeps playing. Today I tried to shut down my phone to get it to stop and it kept playing for a couple minutes and took much longer than usual for the phone to shut down.
Do I just have to use a different music player? Is the default one really buggy or something? Not sure if it has anything to do with it but I only noticed it after I updated to 2.2.
Ok so I just rooted my X and have only removed some of the straight forward bloatware... i.e. CityID, Blockbuster...
After doing so, I did a factory reset and now the stock text messaging app won't stay open...
Any ideas on how to resolve this issue.?

In addition to that people have been telling me that they can hear my voice breaking up a lot more since switching to this phone.
I'm really surprised that for such a high end device it's pretty naff for basic phone calls. I love it for everything but using it as a phone. My Hero was much clearer and BB Bold clearer still and neither of which had problems with Bluetooth.
