Running BB.4 with flash beta 3 installed. Yesterday, running on the default 800Mhz kernel that comes in BB, flash ran ok. Today, I put Chevy 1Ghz ULV kernel on my droid, and flash keeps crashing. I went into SetCPU and throttled back to 800Mhz, and flash works again. I know Flash is still beta, so not sure what is going on.

Can someone walk me through how to overclock my droid to 1Ghz. I am rooted, but I have never had to use the adb. Can someone walk me through this process. Can I just issue the necessary commands from my terminal emulator?

View 18 Replies View RelatedIf you'd like to try it, check your normal ROM website for droid. It allows up to 1ghz clock. I personally have profiles set for a little lower for most times, but its running fine at 1Ghz.

I'm hearing people are often in low 20s with their ROMs. What's the deal? I don't even play games that much, nor do I browse intense websites. Would you suggest a different kernel?

I downloaded the android adk but now I am lost. I am also running an older recovery, not the newer 0.99.3 one, I think its 0.10.5. I have tazs 1300 kernel download but now I don't know how to implement it. Can I use terminal emulator for this?

View 2 Replies View RelatedI am rooted and running BBV0.4 Rom and everything is great. So of course I have to try to make it better. I am looking for 1GHz kernels that work well with BBV0.4. I have seen several options in ROM Manager, but was looking for some factual data and not just fancy names.
Also I am not that familiar with the ROM Manager app, so if any one has a link or a list of steps that I can expect when updating a kernel via ROM Manager it would be greatly appreciated. I didn't see much in the way of a users guide on the Devs website.
Is it safe to do Menu>Device Selection>Show Other Frequency Sets on my Droid and run it like a Nexus One 1gHz processor? I have a stock kernel and am currently at 800mhz after the autodetect.

Then suddenly my market crashes, so I restore back to my factory rooted droid, when I try to install or go to reboot into recovery it says"error occured while requesting permissions". Now when I try to restore it won't even reboot the phone. Need help otherwise I'm gonna try get a D2.

I set it up last night and I've been using it very lightly and now I have about 50% battery. Just for kicks and giggles I decided to try ChevyNo1's 1.1Ghz ULV Kernel to see what would happen as I have heard very good things about it. And when I flashed it and upon Reboot the boot animation loaded extremely slow. And when it finally got to the Droid Eye it went into the dreaded boot loop. So now I pose these questions to the Root Gurus, did I do something wrong? Should I choose another kernel? And how do I go about choosing the optimum kernel to maximize performance? With LFY 1.6 and Slayhers 1200kernel I can get a 1339 on Quadrant, and a Short Bench of 316-466, and a long bench of 579-585. And a native bench of 945.77. This is all with SetCPU set to Ondemand.
View 5 Replies View RelatedFlash seems to be the biggest problem with the 2.2 HTC pre-release build. I've poked around with the problem for a few minutes and have yet to find a solution to getting 10.1 to work, however, you can get around the random crashes by starting your browser and immediately stopping whatever page is loading. Head into the settings and disable java script. This will enable you to still use your browser, just not any flash. Hopefully we'll get a solution shortly.
View 7 Replies View RelatedProblem is, any page on the BBC News website containing a Flash movie crashes the stock browser . So, while this and this are OK. This, this and even the mobile help page crash the browser (links included for you to try ). No force close, the browser just vanishes and I get returns me to the phone home screen.
I've cleared the cache and cookies and even restarted the phone to no avail (and no, I'm not doing a hard reset ).
iPlayer pages are OK as is YouTube.
Is this a BBC problem? Is anyone else having the same issue or is it just me?

Things would start up fine with the turn by turn but every few minutes it would lock up. Is anyone else having this problem? Rebooting the phone didn't seem to help. View 10 Replies View Relateddid a search and didnt find anything relating to my issue.I installed a program (photofun) and i regret it. i tried it out with one pic and when i went to the gallery to view it, it would just force close when i would scroll.So i uninstalled the program but when i enter the gallery, pick a folder, and try to scroll, then it will force close. cannot scroll at all bcuz it will force close.

However, if i switch to the favorites or contacts tabs at the top my phone will exit out of the dialer back to the home screen. I hope this is something that can be fixed over an update. Btw if i go directly to contacts from the home scrren it works fine.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an ongoing problem with my Droid that apps will crash if they are not used for a period of time. I've been dealing with it so far by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. This morning Google Voice started crashing and I was unable to make a call, so I uninstalled Google Voice, made the call I needed to make, and then reinstalled Voice. While going through the setup, the app crashes and force closes when attempting to sign in. This is not the only app I have problems with. The Amazon MP3 service force closes at random times, and it seems every app I install eventually has to be reinstalled because it starts force closing after a period of time. I do all the normal troubleshooting like clearing the cache and restarting the phone, and it usually doesn't fix it. Is this normal for this phone or do I have a bad one? It's really becoming an annoyance...

There is a lot of debate as to whether these crashing phones are experiencing a hardware or a software problem.This seems like a software problem, and could be related to how the new 2.0 OS deals with memory, etc.I would like to think that an software update would fix it.There is no doubt that Verizon and Google are aware of the high number of phones that crash software.I bought my phone at Walmart, and they are about done with my replacement requests. My store and the next closest store who sells Verizon is out of the Droid.

The kicker is that i havent even been using it as much! I picked up the phone today, open the web browser to google homepage, and the phone crashes. Yesterday it was nearly the same thing. View 3 Replies View RelatedBuddy told me to put kangerade and chevy lv 1.2ghz on it. I'm not new to the root game and i've done it to a few eris phones. I got everything installed correctly two days ago but yesterday and today, the phone seems to soft boot every now and again for no particular reason. It doesn't go all the way to the mas a hard boot would, but it goes to the droid logo and reboots from there. I'm running the newest version of Kangerade with chevy 1.2ghz low voltage kernel.
View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently when I use the stock/default music player, when I try to pause or stop it, it keeps playing. If I press the hard home key, it will go to the home screen but the music will keep playing even if I press pause. If I am still in the music player app and press the back button, it goes to a black screen and keeps playing. Today I tried to shut down my phone to get it to stop and it kept playing for a couple minutes and took much longer than usual for the phone to shut down.
Do I just have to use a different music player? Is the default one really buggy or something? Not sure if it has anything to do with it but I only noticed it after I updated to 2.2.
Ok so I just rooted my X and have only removed some of the straight forward bloatware... i.e. CityID, Blockbuster...
After doing so, I did a factory reset and now the stock text messaging app won't stay open...
Any ideas on how to resolve this issue.?
