Can someone please tell me why? , like today Blockbuster app started popping up? why? anyway a killer would be one click instead of a search into Applications.

A few days ago the GPS notification icon started popping up at the top of my screen at random without me even running an app that requires GPS. I have tried to kill any app that potentially uses GPS with taskiller, disabling GPS all-together, and rebooting my phone to get it to go away. The only temporary solution I have found is to enter and then exit google maps. That works for a little while but then, bam, out of nowhere the little satellite icon appears again. I don't mind if it is just a little glitch and my GPS isn't actually being accessed, but if it is, that is a serious hit to my battery life. I haven't noticed a dramatic change in battery life since it started happening but I do seem to get less time out of the phone. Has anyone else had this problem and if so, is it a big deal and how do you fix it?

Also, for those of us who have rooted and removed some bloatware, will you be putting everything back and unrooting in preparation for froyo when your phone promts you for the update?

View 3 Replies View RelatedOK, heres the dealio. I have used root explorer to rename numerous .apk's to .bak's. All have nicely removed themselves from my app drawer...except for blockbuster. Anyone else with this issue or know how to resolve it. it is just sitting there smiling at me and it is useless now. If I tap to open it say it can't...no duh DX...I just renamed it...so why are you still here?? I have also already done a battery pull.

View 3 Replies View RelatedI backed up and deleted Blockbuster with Titanium. But, since I hadn't purchases Titanium yet, it didn't back up the apk (it just backed up the data). I then decided to reinstall Blockbuster so that I could get a proper backup. I moved the apk (which people have posted) and installed it. Then I moved the apk to system/app. The program then wouldn't start, so I updated it in the market (this was happening to people with stock X's too). Everything works and seems fine, except now Titanium doesn't list Blockbuster as a system app. If anyone who's not deleted can check, does Titanium list it as a system? Also, does anyone know if I've done something wrong?

My question is that even though I have the advanced task killer on my phone the programs like corporate calendar keep opening up and other such ones. I can let my phone sit for an hour and have over 10 programs running. Is there a setting I am missing that can stop these things from popping up?

View 4 Replies View RelatedI had my physical keyboard open and I started to get word prediction at the bottom of the screen again. But I cant figure out how to get it every time the physical keyboard is open. Most of the time I get nothing but this is the second time I have seen this at the bottom. Anyone know what going on with this. There isn't a setting for it for built in keyboard settings page. I wish it would work all the time because it is a nice feature.

View 2 Replies View RelatedThere have been multiple threads of people saying they are experiencing sound popping when using the 3.5mm jack, most of them say its on Pandora others will say that it happens on all mp3's or a few mp3's that otherwise sound perfect when played on their computer. To test I want to see if its a defect in hardware or if it just another Droid Does problem. I always consistently experience sound popping with my Sony headphones while playing Home by Michael Buble. If you go to youtube and search "home buble" play the first search result in high quality and turn the media volume to maximum. Listen in about 45 seconds and let me know if you hear popping.

Maybe I double pressed the powere button after the power on had started, but as soon as the droid eyeball screen came up, all images on the screen were in negative. This continued through the home screen loading until I turned the phone off and restarted, getting normal colors.

The kicker is that i havent even been using it as much! I picked up the phone today, open the web browser to google homepage, and the phone crashes. Yesterday it was nearly the same thing. I am not running any apps in the background other than what is already from the OS.

After hearing about the crap Motorola pulled with the bootloader, I decided to wait on the ota update to Froyo until someone either figures a workaround, or they don't...to which I will update via the latest leak.
PROBLEM: After twice saying NOT to download this ota, I look down at my status bar and it shows something downloading at 10%...It's the syatem update!!!! I immediately pulled the battery, only to have the download continue upon restarting the phone. I am currently in Airplane mode waiting to hear if there is a way to KILL, CANCEL or STOP this download from installing!
I got my Droid on Friday, the day it came out. Was working fine. Today, about an hour ago, my droid reset itself. Then started back up. when I got to my home screen, it reset itself. When I got to the home screen again, very shortly (less than 10 seconds) it reset itself again! And repeated this over and over. It never stopped! I can not even use my Droid!

I noticed while loading some stuff to hers last night though that when you type on the keyboard, you don't get the letters popping up (i.e. on mine, when I hit a letter on the keyboard, it pops up a bubble showing what letter I hit for a half second or so, this doesn't occur on hers).I've looked everywhere I can find but don't see anywhere to turn that on/off. Any suggestions?

I am just wondering if the auto-suggest dictionary is user-modifiable. I use compact QWERTY (like SureType on BB). When I type "we", what comes out is "qe" which is the default word it wants to use. Perhaps I used it once and saved it? How can I delete the words I don't want popping up anymore (especially the ones I may have added)?

Does anyone know how to programmatically send a MMS via the Android SDK? Any version of the SDK will do, just need to know where to get started. I know how to send / receive SMS, I now need to add a picture to the message before sending.
