HTC EVO 4G :: Sense Constantly Crashing
Jun 11, 2010HTC Sense is crashing constantly on my EVO. It happens so much the phone is unusable. Multiple reboots do nothing to fix it.I had a couple of 3rd party widgets installed (Gmail count, and SMS count) so I uninstalled them.Now I only have the Clock/Weather widget that came with the phone on the home screen and Sense just keeps crashing. Force close, after force close, after force close.I will have to hard reset if I can't find a solution.I've changed scenes to one of the stock scenes (HTC or Sprint) and it's still crashing.I boot up, swipe back and forth between panels, crash!

Aug 12, 2010Whenever I view my gallery now I get a force close message and the gallery attempts to restart. After it restarts it crashes again. This is very annoying.I can view photos fine through the file manager.

Aug 12, 2010I don't know if this is the right group, but my ADT keeps crashing while editing layout files. I'm not positive, but I think it might have something to do with the background images that I'm attempting to use, as they are not rendered in the preview at all. Is this the appropriate group to discuss the ADT tools? If so, does anyone else have problems getting background images to display?

Very annoying, I have to keep turning the phone on all the time. No its not low batteries, I'm not that stupid. Haven't messed around with the phone at all, firmware or rooting or anything like that.
If their are other threads regarding Android crashing on a minute by minute basis can someone please link. And when I say minute by minute, sometimes it is that bad.
And from what I have seen in other postings; I do appreciate friendly helpful people, however, please save the "Welcome" posts for other people, I just want to get down to business
Motorola Droid X :: Phone Dialer Crashing
Jul 16, 2010Everytime i open up the dialer on my x it works fine in the sense of letting me dial a number. However, if i switch to the favorites or contacts tabs at the top my phone will exit out of the dialer back to the home screen. I hope this is something that can be fixed over an update. Btw if i go directly to contacts from the home scrren it works fine.

Nov 25, 2009I am on my third exchanged phone for a variety of reasons I have a 41/09 device that is repeatedly crashing whenever I try to compose an email with the native gmail app.I have duplicated it over and over again. There is a lot of debate as to whether these crashing phones are experiencing a hardware or a software problem.This seems like a software problem, and could be related to how the new 2.0 OS deals with memory, etc.I would like to think that an software update would fix it.There is no doubt that Verizon and Google are aware of the high number of phones that crash software.I bought my phone at Walmart, and they are about done with my replacement requests. My store and the next closest store who sells Verizon is out of the Droid.

Sep 24, 2010Recently when I use the stock/default music player, when I try to pause or stop it, it keeps playing. If I press the hard home key, it will go to the home screen but the music will keep playing even if I press pause. If I am still in the music player app and press the back button, it goes to a black screen and keeps playing. Today I tried to shut down my phone to get it to stop and it kept playing for a couple minutes and took much longer than usual for the phone to shut down.
Do I just have to use a different music player? Is the default one really buggy or something? Not sure if it has anything to do with it but I only noticed it after I updated to 2.2.

Jan 22, 2010when the stock Messaging app wasn't cutting it, I installed Handcent.But it started flaking out on me, so I dumped it and went to the more-reliable chompSMS.I liked it a lot.But to be completely honest, I missed some of the features of Handcent. But reliability is Job 1, so I kept chompSMS for a few weeks.Then I heard that Handcent received a major update a few days ago, so I replaced chompSMS with Handcent. So far so good. I got all the features back, and I haven't had one single issue in days of texting. So if you're like me and you left Handcent for chompSMS, you may want to give the new version a spin.

Feb 12, 2010Has anyone else experienced this, when i try to use my bluetooth headset the phone after a few minutes switches itself off (yes i did try a search!). In addition to that people have been telling me that they can hear my voice breaking up a lot more since switching to this phone.
I'm really surprised that for such a high end device it's pretty naff for basic phone calls. I love it for everything but using it as a phone. My Hero was much clearer and BB Bold clearer still and neither of which had problems with Bluetooth.

Sep 27, 2010is there a way to tell what app is using the GPS? My phone's gps is constantly on even when google maps, camera app, etc isn't turned on. I'm curious what app is using it.I know i can manually turn off gps but i rather leave it on as it hasn't been affecting battery life too much so far but now the gps icon is on very frequently in the top bar.

But little droidy is sick ): The screen is constantly banding and flickering, sometimes at different strengths. At points it's hard to look at the screen and hurts your eyes. I heard this happened with the Droid X's as well. Sadly, the day after I got my Droid 2, my 30-days (I got it at best buy) to exchange the phone ran up :<
Is there anything I can do so they can exchange this? They sold me a defective product for $200! D: I think they should listen and give me a working model.

Sep 1, 2010I'm on my third 'X'.Both returns have been for the identical reason.3G drops seemingly at random and then hangs on 1x for 'x' amount of time before it reverts back.Yes I can manually kick start the thing by going into airplane mode but this is ridiculous.I've tried all the other band-aid approaches; hard reset, *228/1, *228/2, etc.Nothing fixes the problem.This happens way to often to be considered a fluke.I can not afford to have this happen while in navigation mode as it renders that function useless.I really need to know from someone this in fact is A) identified and B) being addressed by Moto and/or VZW. If I can't I'm afraid I will have to return this and leave VZW.It's too bad as the phone is perfect except for this very annoying bug. Does anyone have solid information on this?

Jul 14, 2010Running BB.4 with flash beta 3 installed. Yesterday, running on the default 800Mhz kernel that comes in BB, flash ran ok. Today, I put Chevy 1Ghz ULV kernel on my droid, and flash keeps crashing. I went into SetCPU and throttled back to 800Mhz, and flash works again. I know Flash is still beta, so not sure what is going on.

Apr 9, 2010I have an ongoing problem with my Droid that apps will crash if they are not used for a period of time. I've been dealing with it so far by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. This morning Google Voice started crashing and I was unable to make a call, so I uninstalled Google Voice, made the call I needed to make, and then reinstalled Voice. While going through the setup, the app crashes and force closes when attempting to sign in. This is not the only app I have problems with. The Amazon MP3 service force closes at random times, and it seems every app I install eventually has to be reinstalled because it starts force closing after a period of time. I do all the normal troubleshooting like clearing the cache and restarting the phone, and it usually doesn't fix it. Is this normal for this phone or do I have a bad one? It's really becoming an annoyance...

Feb 18, 2010I recently switched to chomp from handcent because I like the way chomp looks better than handcent and they both have basically the same functionality.
Well chomp just had an update and it is now force closing everytime i turn my phone on and will not work at all.
I have not tried to uninstall and reinstall because I just got it customized perfectly and there is no guarantee that will work. I will do that if/when someone says it has worked foe them.
That said, has anyone had this problem happen to them after the new update?
Motorola Droid X :: Slow And Constantly Dropping Connection
Sep 1, 2010i've had my droidx since it came out. Its always worked great. but for the last two weeks or so it has been VERY annoying. App for chatting like AIN or trillian do not connect long enough or well enough to talk to people. My service is also lagging as well as wifi. And my market is very very bad with loading. Any suggestions? I do not have an automatic task killer. And i do use juicedefender, but on days i leave it off i have the same problem.

Aug 4, 2010I have been using sp recovery, with kangerade 5.0.9 and chevy 1.2. I have run backups with sprecovry, but the next time I go into sp recovery and attempt backup it says sd card corrupt, giving me the error #31. I haven't connected to my computer since the last time I formatted and the only thing other than a charger I have connected is the droid dock. I can't figure out what could cause this issue.
