I got my Droid on Friday, the day it came out. Was working fine. Today, about an hour ago, my droid reset itself. Then started back up. when I got to my home screen, it reset itself. When I got to the home screen again, very shortly (less than 10 seconds) it reset itself again! And repeated this over and over. It never stopped! I can not even use my Droid!

I am on my third exchanged phone for a variety of reasons I have a 41/09 device that is repeatedly crashing whenever I try to compose an email with the native gmail app.I have duplicated it over and over again. There is a lot of debate as to whether these crashing phones are experiencing a hardware or a software problem.This seems like a software problem, and could be related to how the new 2.0 OS deals with memory, etc.I would like to think that an software update would fix it.There is no doubt that Verizon and Google are aware of the high number of phones that crash software.I bought my phone at Walmart, and they are about done with my replacement requests. My store and the next closest store who sells Verizon is out of the Droid.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI know the update hasn't officially been rolled out but does anybody have any early knowledge of whether or not this update will correct the issue of emails sent from the droid from yahoo sending multiple copies and copying them into your sent folder? I know there's a setting to disable this feature under normal circumstances but i like having my sent copies saved and was hoping that this update will correct this issue.

View 10 Replies View RelatedNot sure what I did, but on powering up, I had trouble getting it to turn on. Maybe I double pressed the powere button after the power on had started, but as soon as the droid eyeball screen came up, all images on the screen were in negative. This continued through the home screen loading until I turned the phone off and restarted, getting normal colors.

Is anyone else receiving this, or know what it is? I received 3 of these today, and about 5 over the last several days. It seems to have happened after installing Trapster. I don't see anything on their forum that gives me any clues.
My Email app has been repeatedly crashing for the last 24 hours or so with the following error message: "The application Email (process.com.google.android.email) has stopped unexpectedly. Please try again." Everything else is functioning normally.

I was told my Verizon that it would duplicate automatically. I was skeptical and for sure I have only seen Google stuff (contacts, gmail, etc) sync.
But I am also interested in all my apps and settings...
I did try an app called MyBackup, which let me copy over all the apps alright, but the market didn't realize they were installed (so it won't know about updates) and of course all my settings and prefs are gone. Anyone have any luck?
Is there a fix for this? Why is it doing this? Oh yeah, 4 day old EVO unrooted with 2.1.

My gmail password is right and it still won't sign me in.it take a whole minute to call anyone on my phone list, I miss calls, when I go to answer my phone after two rings it ends call. And last but not least, my assigned ring tones don't play for my contacts, it only plays the default. I have tried everything. I'm wondering if i should take it to Verizon and get a new one.

Just scared i'll mess my phone up and have to buy another. I'm sure you deal with people like me daily. Anyways, I'm going to wait for the official 2.2 to come out, then worry about rooting. My question is, If I would use androot and koush's backup, and only used trustworthy roms that people post on forums like this, with positive feedback. do i really have to worry about bricking my phone?
View 10 Replies View RelatedSo my phone has this weird pattern of resetting about 2 minutes away from my house when I'm driving (happened in two opposite directions). It was just sitting in my pocket and I hear it reset (sometimes it reset multiple times on the same trip). I thought it was maybe the task killer running funny so I disabled it, and still it resets. Happens every time. I'm using Fresh 0.3 but it happened in earlier versions of Fresh too. Anyone else having this issue? Maybe it has to do with switching towers or something (in my house I get a very very very weak signal).

The kicker is that i havent even been using it as much! I picked up the phone today, open the web browser to google homepage, and the phone crashes. Yesterday it was nearly the same thing. I am not running any apps in the background other than what is already from the OS.

After hearing about the crap Motorola pulled with the bootloader, I decided to wait on the ota update to Froyo until someone either figures a workaround, or they don't...to which I will update via the latest leak.
PROBLEM: After twice saying NOT to download this ota, I look down at my status bar and it shows something downloading at 10%...It's the syatem update!!!! I immediately pulled the battery, only to have the download continue upon restarting the phone. I am currently in Airplane mode waiting to hear if there is a way to KILL, CANCEL or STOP this download from installing!
Automatically resets Ur phone at a set scheduled time. My blackberry had one called restart me. I know android has one, Jus can't seem to find it.
View 2 Replies View RelatedI've got an HTC Evo 3D running MIUI 2.1.20. I've been having an issue lately that's spanned multiple roms on multiple phones. Every few minutes the phone will freeze a and eventually soft reset. This only occurs when the phone is sitting, or I am on the home screen. If I'm using an app on the phone it runs fine until I exit that app, at which point it will continue to run for a minute or two before soft resetting.
I've experienced this issue on both my Evo 3D and Evo shift. I've used Eternity and MIUI on the 3D, and MIUI and Synergy in the shift.
I am a life long (so far but not for long!) WinMo user because up until now (2.2 release of Froyo) I have always assumed Android wasn't as elegant, capable, and smooth as Windows (YES, I WAS WRONG).So now that I'm ready to make the switch... does Android offer any service, through my Google log-in perhaps, to back up all my contacts to the cloud (with pictures and files as well, or is the data limited) I am with Verizon and have had this sluggish Touch Pro 2 for far too long, and have an annual upgrade I'm either going to put to use on with the Droid 2, or the X!

I have to send my dead phone back once I get the new one, and am concerned about the fact that it's rooted running Froyo. I'd like to restore the nandroid backup I made of stock 2.1. Can somebody give me advice on how to do this with a dead screen? Perhaps from the command line on my computer via USB, or perhaps the key strokes to do it in nandroid so I can replicate it by feel?
View 7 Replies View RelatedI'm having a strange problem with my Xperia Arc (4.0.4) that is proving very difficult to track down. When playing music or videos, after a random amount of time (maybe 20 or 30 seconds) the phone will crash and restart. This happens regardless of the app I use - Play Music, Poweramp, MX Player and YouTube. I have restored my phone using CWM to a much earlier backup, but eventually (within a few hours) the problem returns.
My only other recourse would seem to be a full wipe and return to stock firmware, which would be a major PITA and obviously wouldn't support if this is a hardware issue or some conflict with an update
I have the root app Titanium Backup. When I root my friends' phones, I like giving them all my root apps with a quick transfer of my SD card app backups from AppControl.
BUT, I have never been able to find the backup file for Titanium Backup. I realize they can just download it from the Market, but where I work I get no service so I can't download it for hours for them.
Does AppControl or even Titanium Backup itself actually back up Titanium Backup? It seems almost like they skip over the APK because I can never find any backed up APK files that have the words "Titanium" or "Backup" in it. I've never been able to find the file!
I DLed Titanium Backup, but it wasn't obtaining root access. I read here that I probably need to update to a newer version of BB. After a bit of a fight, I finally managed to get BB 0.4 onto my Droid. I figured I was safe b/c I have Lookout, which also backs up data. Yeah, it backs up contacts and pix, that's it. So here I am w/ a nice, shiny new rom, and a completely wiped phone.
Now, I know my old info is still there. I know I could just recover into my last version. But then I wouldn't be on this rom. Is there any way for me to get that info on here, or do I have to do everything manual? Or could I restore the old version, and not need to do a wipe when flashing the new rom?
Man, no matter what I good I start to feel about myself w/ what I've already learned from you guys, I'm quickly reminded that I'm barely scratching the surface.
Sso yesterday, my phone did one of the resets on its own, thinking ok whatever (since its the norm now). When it came back up was saying please insert external memory card. Something like that. So again, its crapped out another card. I would have to check my last post to see if this happened with the old phone or the replacement. Its been just fine, now everything is gone again. I know I should back things up but when u have never had this problem b4 its not something that I always remember to do. I had removed weather widget and beautiful widget as I didn't know which one I wanted and was rearranging icons. Now I cant use either. I was checking for a schedule online.
