I flew into another state and needed gps to get me to my destination in my rental car. Things would start up fine with the turn by turn but every few minutes it would lock up. Is anyone else having this problem? Rebooting the phone didn't seem to help. I never had this problem with my incredible.

View 10 Replies View Relateddid a search and didnt find anything relating to my issue.I installed a program (photofun) and i regret it. i tried it out with one pic and when i went to the gallery to view it, it would just force close when i would scroll.So i uninstalled the program but when i enter the gallery, pick a folder, and try to scroll, then it will force close. cannot scroll at all bcuz it will force close.
View 9 Replies View RelatedRunning BB.4 with flash beta 3 installed. Yesterday, running on the default 800Mhz kernel that comes in BB, flash ran ok. Today, I put Chevy 1Ghz ULV kernel on my droid, and flash keeps crashing. I went into SetCPU and throttled back to 800Mhz, and flash works again. I know Flash is still beta, so not sure what is going on.

However, if i switch to the favorites or contacts tabs at the top my phone will exit out of the dialer back to the home screen. I hope this is something that can be fixed over an update. Btw if i go directly to contacts from the home scrren it works fine.

View 7 Replies View RelatedI have an ongoing problem with my Droid that apps will crash if they are not used for a period of time. I've been dealing with it so far by uninstalling and reinstalling the app. This morning Google Voice started crashing and I was unable to make a call, so I uninstalled Google Voice, made the call I needed to make, and then reinstalled Voice. While going through the setup, the app crashes and force closes when attempting to sign in. This is not the only app I have problems with. The Amazon MP3 service force closes at random times, and it seems every app I install eventually has to be reinstalled because it starts force closing after a period of time. I do all the normal troubleshooting like clearing the cache and restarting the phone, and it usually doesn't fix it. Is this normal for this phone or do I have a bad one? It's really becoming an annoyance...

There is a lot of debate as to whether these crashing phones are experiencing a hardware or a software problem.This seems like a software problem, and could be related to how the new 2.0 OS deals with memory, etc.I would like to think that an software update would fix it.There is no doubt that Verizon and Google are aware of the high number of phones that crash software.I bought my phone at Walmart, and they are about done with my replacement requests. My store and the next closest store who sells Verizon is out of the Droid.

The kicker is that i havent even been using it as much! I picked up the phone today, open the web browser to google homepage, and the phone crashes. Yesterday it was nearly the same thing. I am not running any apps in the background other than what is already from the OS.

View 3 Replies View RelatedBuddy told me to put kangerade and chevy lv 1.2ghz on it. I'm not new to the root game and i've done it to a few eris phones. I got everything installed correctly two days ago but yesterday and today, the phone seems to soft boot every now and again for no particular reason. It doesn't go all the way to the mas a hard boot would, but it goes to the droid logo and reboots from there. I'm running the newest version of Kangerade with chevy 1.2ghz low voltage kernel.
View 4 Replies View RelatedRecently when I use the stock/default music player, when I try to pause or stop it, it keeps playing. If I press the hard home key, it will go to the home screen but the music will keep playing even if I press pause. If I am still in the music player app and press the back button, it goes to a black screen and keeps playing. Today I tried to shut down my phone to get it to stop and it kept playing for a couple minutes and took much longer than usual for the phone to shut down.
Do I just have to use a different music player? Is the default one really buggy or something? Not sure if it has anything to do with it but I only noticed it after I updated to 2.2.
Ok so I just rooted my X and have only removed some of the straight forward bloatware... i.e. CityID, Blockbuster...
After doing so, I did a factory reset and now the stock text messaging app won't stay open...
Any ideas on how to resolve this issue.?
I installed bugless beast froyo on my droid... and it keeps crashing and powering off my phone, anybody know the reason? i installed 1.25 kernel could that be the reason
View 13 Replies View RelatedHas anyone else experienced this, when i try to use my bluetooth headset the phone after a few minutes switches itself off (yes i did try a search!). In addition to that people have been telling me that they can hear my voice breaking up a lot more since switching to this phone.
I'm really surprised that for such a high end device it's pretty naff for basic phone calls. I love it for everything but using it as a phone. My Hero was much clearer and BB Bold clearer still and neither of which had problems with Bluetooth.
Sense UI keeps crashing on me! It used to happen maybe once every couple weeks but now I get it 2-3 times a day. I just got Pandahome last night and when I switch from Panda to Sense it restarts sense maybe 1 out of 10 times but the crashing problem began before then so I don't know what's causing it. I'd try a hard reset but last time I did that my phone wouldn't activate and it took Verizon 3 hours to fix.

I have read a number of the posts on this board and tried to condition my new phone for best battery life, etc. and haven't added many apps yet. However a few of them keep crashing ALL the time and it's really annoying. Particularly Google Talk and Gmail, the native apps that I didn't install. I will open them up, press one button (on an email or a name) and then it will just close back to the home screen. It will do this five or six times in a row before it lets me use the app. I have been using task panel but have both apps on the "ignore" list so I don't think that should make a difference, and come to think of it it did that before I installed task panel. The phone is literally three days old.
View 8 Replies View RelatedI'm trying to run the Android Notepadv3 app on the Motorola Droid. When I am creating a new note, if I rotate my phone so that the view should switch to horizontal, or if I open it up so the keyboard is exposed, the app freezes and crashes.
I haven't modified the program in anyway from Exercise 3 solution (http://developer.android.com/resources/tutorials/notepad/index.html). Any ideas why this is happening?
I rooted my Droid Eris 2 days ago and have had multiple problems with it. The first problem was it wasn't receiving a signal at all. The 2nd problem I had was after I had wiped my device flashed the ROM and rebooted it kept saying htc.touch.input.app has encountered a problem and i had to force close it. Now it is not letting me get in to the stock messaging app to read any texts.
View 3 Replies View RelatedI recently switched to chomp from handcent because I like the way chomp looks better than handcent and they both have basically the same functionality.
Well chomp just had an update and it is now force closing everytime i turn my phone on and will not work at all.
I have not tried to uninstall and reinstall because I just got it customized perfectly and there is no guarantee that will work. I will do that if/when someone says it has worked foe them.
That said, has anyone had this problem happen to them after the new update?
I have had my Eris for maybe 3 or 4 days and I absolutely love it. I have to thank all of you for the useful tips and tricks I have been reading.
I haven't had a problem until tonight.
I was using the stock browser on MySpace, finished what I was doing, logged out and used the back key to get back to the home screen, which I always do. I could never get back to the home screen, the farthest back it would take me was to the original MySpace login screen and I had to hit the home key to get back to the home screen.
When I now try to open the browser, it acts like it is loading, I see the status bar, which loads all the way, but other than that, the screen is completely white and stays that way - the whole screen is white and never does anything.
Could this have been caused by MySpace or maybe a browser issue that happened to occur while I was on MySpace?
I have cleared cache, cleared all data, rebooted a few times, force stopped it, killed it with advanced task manager and everything else I could think of.
Everything seems damn fast and it's so simple to set up. Only problem is that I have set up my work e-mail (which sits on a server and is a POP-3 account I think!...can you tell I'm not technical?!?!) using the in-built client on the phone, trouble is that it keeps crashing and has to do a force close on me pretty much every time. I've looked for this same topic in the forum but cant find anything which answers the issue. Is the next software release likely to fix this bug?
View 1 Replies View RelatedI have an app that I have been working on and it runs fine on the simulator, but when I load it into my phone it crashes but only on the second run of it.I'm testing it on an HTC incredible.I think the logcat line is 15376 byte external allocation too larger for this process out of memory heap size = 6599kb allocated 4136kb bitmap size = 17970kb .I can not seem to catch the exception,It never fails the first time I launch the app or if i exit using home instead of back.I have found that when I go back using the back key it goes through onDestroy() and back to onCreate(), and then crashes.I'm very puzzled as to why it acts differently seems like if it goes though onDestroy next time it loads is like the first time.I think it is related to a large number of bitmaps I'm creating.

View 1 Replies View RelatedFlash seems to be the biggest problem with the 2.2 HTC pre-release build. I've poked around with the problem for a few minutes and have yet to find a solution to getting 10.1 to work, however, you can get around the random crashes by starting your browser and immediately stopping whatever page is loading. Head into the settings and disable java script. This will enable you to still use your browser, just not any flash. Hopefully we'll get a solution shortly.
