My Droid never vibrates, ever. No matter if it is set to vibrate only, silent, or max sound. It doesn't vibrate for calls, texts or for anything. I set vibrate on for both, calls and texts - and it never vibrates. I temporarily installed other apps to see if the phone is physically able to vibrate, and it is. I am not sure if I am missing an option, or if there is a software malfunction.

I'm new to Droid and the interface but am hoping I'm just missing something obvious. How do I make my DroidX vibrate for text messages but, at the same time, ring for calls? At work, I want to know about calls but texts can typically wait.

View 1 Replies View RelatedThis is the only phone that it's ever happened to. Since I got the Droid, I've been missing calls. Not like I have missed calls. The only calls that are okay are the ones that I make. Everyone is telling me that when they call me it rings about 3 times and then just hangs up. Like I ignored it but didn't go to vmail. However, none of these calls are going through at ALL so I'm not ignoring the calls.
Also, everyone is texting me saying that I never texted them back when I know I did.
I activated my phone Friday night (2 days ago) and started using the phone only on Saturday morning. A few calls are going through but almost ALL are being disconnected back to the previous/home screen after one or two rings -- INCLUDING, now, *611 and *228. Called tech services this morning and am now on hold (15 min. so far!), from a land line. Texts from my family have not shown up, since yesterday and this morning. Did a soft reset this morning.
View 1 Replies View RelatedI just got this app for my x and fascinate. it's amazing. when connected to wifi, my computer notifies me of my texts, calls, low battery, etc. it is great when i am working, and i even love it when i am at home, as my entertainment center is controlled by a PC. check it out. best app all week. i am certain this belongs in another part of the forum, but i really only browse the x and fascinate sections, and i know a lot of you just stay around here too, and i thought you all might find it really useful.

View 8 Replies View RelatedThe title says it all. I force updated my Droid 1 to 2.2 and the phone does not vibrate for notifications or calls. I have vibrate set to always and the ringer is turned on. If I use the volume rocker to change the settings to silent it will give the vibrate notification to indicate that it is in silent. I have done a factory reset on the phone but the issue remains. I have tried all of the different vibrate settings but still nothing. Any ideas?
View 4 Replies View RelatedFor some reason my EVO has decided to stop accepting any incoming calls, texts, or voice mails. I was only able to receive these messages when I was able to get a call to connect and I got a flood of voice mails and texts as if it hadn't been connected to the network the entire time. It also does this thing where it doesn't connect the call when I dial someone. Instead of connecting and seeing the time duration for the call appear, it instead takes forever to connect and just says dialing for a really long time. It was doing it last night, and then this morning it seemed to be normal again, but now it's doing it again. Anyone have any ideas on how to fix this? I won't have time to go to sprint until Monday and this is really irritating me.

Even after numerous factory resets, through both the Volume Down+Send+End and Settings>Privacy>Factory Reset methods, my Eris has been unable to send or receive texts, and will not allow me to send or receive calls. When I try to text, I get an SMS error with Cause Code: 34 and Error Class: 3. When I try to call, I get an automated error saying that my phone can't be authenticated at this time, and am advised to call #8899. Even after doing so, I get the same authentication error. Wi-Fi seems to work correctly, and my Google and Facebook accounts all sync pretty much perfectly. Is anyone else having any kind of problem like this? And, either way, does anyone know of any possible alternatives that may fix the problem besides a total replacement of the phone?

I've had it for 2 1/2+ months and it has done it twice, leading me to believe that it happens every month, regularly, because it always happens at the beginning of the month. The last time it happened, I brought it to the Verizon store but all they do is blame the consumer for any faults with software because Android is open source. Is there a way to get my texts back and how can I solve this problem? Is there an app that deletes text messages every month or so because of a hidden setting? Is there a solution to this problem without reformatting (I have my contacts, calendar, and a bunch of other stuff on my phone and also apps and I don't wanna delete anything).

View 4 Replies View RelatedIf you set something, let's say messages, to vibrate, it vibrates even when the phone isn't in vibrate mode. In other words, in normal mode - you'll get an audible alert and vibrate. If you turn off vibrate for messaging, then switch the phone profile to vibrate, the phone doesn't vibrate for messages. So it seems like it's all or none - vibrate always on, or always off. Is this what others have found? I tried installing Quick Profiles and creating profiles but the behavior is the same. Is there an app that has more granular control and can actually control vibrate?

So the ringtone option on my Droid X does not work anymore, or I somehow put it on permanently vibrate. The ringtones were working fine when i received calls but now it only vibrates. I've gone into settings > Sound & Display > Ringer volume and turned it all the way up but it still only vibrates when receiving a call. My Text message sound works fine it's set as the facebook pop. Can anyone help me with this? I'm not sure if i just missed something or if there is another phone setting that i'm not seeing but my ringtone does not work! This phone is the most amazing phone i've ever owned and now can't wait to get the froyo update...any idea when i can install that on my phone?

I got google voice and on the settings it has the option to turn off sms forwarding to mobile phone. I have it unchecked but whenever someone texts my GV number, handcent app gets a text. is there some other setting I am missing. It is on a moto droid btw
View 5 Replies View RelatedHas anyone noticed that if you uncheck the box to enable the lock screen that the Droid X's screen will turn on for incoming text messages? It's rather annoying as I would rather not use a lock screen but don't want the screen turning on for every new text either. Screen stays off fine if the lock screen is enabled. This is my first Android phone so not sure if this is how Android behaves or if it's a Droid X issue.

While I love the power of the phone and the capabilities, the actual phone is not exciting at all and I miss the Eris if only for the actual phone. I am constantly told I am hard to hear; usually they say I am grainy, muffled, or tinny sounding. Are there any apps I can use to help make call quality better? I have purchased a very expensive blue tooth, call quality is still bad. Now, with a particular friend, they hear a very annoying beeping sound when talking to me. And only me. I don't hear it but the only time they hear this sound is when talking to me and it's been since I got the Droid (about 2 weeks ago). Any ideas of what this is and how to fix it?

But anyways, I've noticed that sometimes I'd get a phone call and almost immediately it would stop and show as a missed call. It could just be caused by the person calling but I figured I'd ask and see if anyone else had the issue. In running BB v.1 with the 1ghz kernel and the baseband update. Any thoughts?
